15 Kelly's Decision

Next day they wake up by the sound of birds chirping and soft rays of sun falling on their faces. Mike saw Catherine who has tightly snuggled on him and sleeping. She is looking like a small cute baby. The rays of sun slowly interfered with her sleep as her face expression changed from calm to annoyed. She took the comforter and covered her face. Mike smiled a little.

Mike slowly woke up making sure she doesn't get disturbed and stretched his arm and then walked towards the terrace door making his way downstairs. He went to kitchen and made lemon iced tea so that she can recover from her hangover. Mike went with the tea on the terrace.

He saw she is awake now. Sitting and staring here and there blankly. She was looking so cute in her little pink chemise. Mike went and sat beside her.

Catherine looked at him with her sleepy eyes and said "Hey Mike. Good morning. Damn my head is spinning like hell."

Mike said " I know sweetheart and I have perfect drink for you. Here take the ice tea."

Catherine took the tea from his hand and tasted it.

"Wow this is so good. It is tasting like nector to my tastebuds."

"Thanks I guess." Mike smiled.

Catherine took the pillow and put in her lap and made herself comfortable. She started sipping the tea silently.

Catherine break the silence.

"Mike about last night….the kiss…."

"I..I am really sorry Catherine. It just happened in the heat of the moment. You were in pain and I didn't know what to do and so..I am sorry. I know you have a boyfriend and you don't like me and you made it other day very clear that its all a mistake. I didn't want it to happened. Please forgive me."

"Mike…Can you relax a bit? Keep quiet and let me complete. Last night was very beautiful and special to me. Our kiss..It definitely meant something to me. I know you are attracted to me and I like you too mike but…"

"But?"

Catherine sighed and continued "Mike my life is a real mess. I am a real mess. I really like you but at the moment I am so confused. I need time to think about it."

"Catherine you know the relationship is affecting you mentally and playing with your emotions. You are in a toxic relationship Catherine."

"It's not as bad as you think Mike. Plus I am addicted to Lucas. I am not ready to leave him at the moment. Can we just stay friends Mike and take things slow?"

"I understand your feelings Catherine and please take your time. We are friends. Don't worry about it. "

Mike faked a smile.

Of course it hurt me somewhere in my heart but I cannot show it to her.

She smiled back.

Then suddenly his phone beeped. It was a whassapp message from David.

Message: Hey Bro…Where are you? Kelly is giving her resignation and moving out of newyork.

Mike was shocked to see the message. He immediately replied

"What? How? Didn't you left with Kelly yesterday? What happened?"

He was tense seeing this message. Catherine saw his expression and asked him if he is ok. Mike was about to tell her then again his phone beeped

Whatsapp conversation:

David: Yes. I dropped her at her place. She told me that she wants to stay alone so went to my home. Today morning I have got a message from her saying she is leaving the office and city.

Mike: Oh…

David: Hey are you free? Let's go to Kelly's place and talk to her.

Mike: sure..give me like 2 hours. I will be there. Text me her address.

David: Ok

Mike then put his phone in his pocket.

Catherine now fully awake asked "Hey are you fine? What happened?"

"Sorry Catherine something urgent has comeup. I have to leave."

Mike decided not to tell her before they talk to Kelly. He still hopes maybe they can convince Kelly to stay.

Catherine looked at him surprisingly for a minute and then said "ok.Take care."

"Ya."

Mike booked the cab and reached his place. He quickly showered and got ready and checked my phone. David has texted him kelly's address. He left for kelly's place.

Mike rang the bell. Kelly opened the door. He saw David was already sitting on the couch.

Kelly was a bit surprised to see Mike. she greeted him "Hey mike, Please come in."

Mike went inside and sat on the couch. He can sense from David's face that he is sad and have given up post trying to convince Kelly.

Kelly sat on the chair adjacent to the couch.

Kelly spoke "Hey if you are here to convince me to stay back then it's not going to work. I have already taken my decision."

Mike sighed and then spoke "But Kelly you have a whole life ahead of you. You are a smart woman. You don't deserve this."

"Absolutely I don't deserve this and that is the reason I need to move out of this shitty place."

"I understand but moving out of city is a big decision." Mike tried convincing her.

"I know but this city has given me enough pain. Moreover my mom stays alone at my hometown. So it's better if I move back to my hometown."

David who was quiet till now spoke "But what will you do there? Do you have a roadmap?"

" I am thinking to start a personality development and grooming classes to help the young girls who might be planning to start their career in media and entertainment field."

Mike was happy hearing the plans and then told her "That's an awesome idea and since you are the top model I am sure they can learn lot of things from you."

"Thank you Mike. I will appreciate David if you are also a little supportive towards me like Mike."

"I am happy with the idea Kelly but I don't want you to carry the baby. Please abort it." David finally said without looking at her.

"David you don't understand. This baby is my pillar of strength, my motivation of new life."

"This is what you are feeling now but after some years it will remind you of your past and the memories will haunt you."

"I am not a broken doll David. stop being overprotective. This baby is my hope, my new life."
