11 Confusion

Mike POV

It's been 2 weeks since Catherine b' day party. We haven't seen much of each other after that incident. In the cafeteria, if we accidentally bumped into each other we behaved like strangers. Seeing Catherine with Lucas hurt like hell. I always knew that Catherine will choose Lucas over me undoubtedly and there is no reason for her to chose me. She knows me for a few weeks and we haven't spent much time together as well. Every time we have met as acquaintances so I don't know why it hurts when she said that the night was a mistake.

I can still remember her scent and every part of her body from that day. I also remember her teary eyes from the evening, her morning face with all makeup smudged on it. Damn it's getting so hard for me to avoid her. She is everything that I needed for my girlfriend. After all these years I found a perfect girl but she is not mine. This really sucks.

Catherine POV

Omg, what has happened on my bday? I can't believe Nancy will stab me in the back. How could she do this to me? We were soul sisters. I always knew that Lucas is not faithful to me but it breaks my heart seeing my best friend with my boyfriend in front of my eyes in a compromising position. Moreover, I have fucked up big time by making out with Mike. I was not in the right frame of my mind to do things that I shouldn't have done. Mike is a nice guy. I never wanted to drag him in my shit.

Also, I love Lucas. He has given me everything high position job, This penthouse, money, and all luxury. I can't leave him. But Am I getting the mental peace? I always know when Lucas is not around me he is probably flirting with other women. It's been 2 years that I and Lucas are dating. I also know that Lucas is secretly married but it never bothered me as I always knew we won't be getting married but why I am so bothered when he is making out with Nancy?

Also with Mike, I really feel a special attraction, love, and compassion which I never experienced with Lucas. But I know it's just a one-time thing. I can't let this affect my relationship. What relationship I am even thinking about. The one based on lies and personal benefits? I need a drink and a good sleep. Tomorrow will be a new day and I will be with Lucas again. Mike is just a friend and things will stay as it is.

2 weeks after Catherine Bday Party

Third Person's POv

Mike reached the office. There was so much hustle-bustle here and there. People are running from one cabin to another. He entered his department and saw David sitting and enjoying his coffee and patties.

Mike looked at David and asked "Hey Bro. What's up? What is this chaos everywhere?"

David replied casually "oh ...Well, we have a big event coming up this Saturday. Remember the video uploads we did for the upcoming event?"

"Oh ya. However, I didn't look at the details of the event. So what exactly will be happening at the event." Mike asked anxiously.

"It's a high-end fashion show with Melanie Cry as the Judge and chief guest," David told playing with his phone

Mike's eyes widened after hearing this. "Melanie Cry? Isn't she the international celebrity fashion stylist who received the lifetime achievement awards last year?"

"Yes, she is. And our company been the event management and Media house is hosting the show and even we have some best models who will be participating in this event. It's a quite big event."

"Ok."

"Let's go to the cafeteria," David said

Mike didn't want to go thinking that he might bump into Catherine but didn't want to ditch David either. So he accompanied David to the cafeteria. He looked around in the cafeteria and was relieved to not see Catherine.

Mike and David took the buffet breakfast and sat at our usual spot. They had a corner table where they sit wherever they are in the cafeteria. It gave a whole view of the cafeteria and they can see everyone from this place. As they sat and started eating, he saw someone pulling the chair and sitting beside him. It's Kelly.

Mike greeted her "Hey Kelly. What's up? I can see you are dieting?"

He told casually looking at her fruit bowl.

"Hey Dave, hi Mike. Ya, I need to watch my weight. This Saturday is the event. I may not be the showstopper but I am still the best and I need to look amazing and prove that I am better than the bit*h Serene."

"It's ok kells. We know you are the best. Don't boil your blood. You need glowing skin." David assured her.

"Yes you are right.' kelly smiled.

"I know. So what's your ramp position?" David asked.

"I am in the 1st row but I am not sure which design I have to carry," Kelly said thoughtfully.

"Well, you can carry any outfit gracefully Kells." David winked.

'Awww, Dave...So sweet of you. But still, I deserved to be the showstopper. And you know what's worst? Frank is not even taking my call and I spending too much time with that bi**h Serene."

"Hey calm down Kelly. Anger is not good for...umm..your skin." Mike said instantly.

He suddenly realized that Kelly doesn't know that he is aware of her pregnancy. So he balanced his words.

"Ok Guys. I am done. I will see you later. I am getting late for the show rehearsal.' Kelly said looking at her wristwatch.

" Sure kells. see you around." David and Mike waved her goodbye.
