“I suppose I should get going now,” he said, eagerly anticipating another meeting with Dream Man. “I don’t want to wear out my welcome.”

Alexander could tell by the slight change in the expression on Christian’s face that he hadn’t worn his welcome out. In fact, he got the feeling that Christian wanted him to stay. Suddenly he felt like a real prick. Christian had given him a valuable gift, perhaps the most valuable thing he’d ever possess, and here he was champing at the bit to get out of there and put it into practice.

“If you have to go, you have to go,” Christian said with a weak smile.

Alexander couldn’t have felt worse. “Thank you, Christian. I don’t know if this is going to work or not, but…”

Christian held up a cautionary finger. “That is exactly the wrong attitude. You must have no doubt whatsoever.”

“No doubt. Good.”

“Let me know how you go.”
