2 Chapter 2: Sudden Storm

"So sorry, I just let the bat slip," her carefree, eager voice resounding across the room, as she dusted off her baseball uniform. It was a pure white uniform with long sleeves dirtied by mud. Her words roared within the implant, blowing me back to those ill days. Everything turned red for a second, as I hid behind my knees. Taking deep breaths, I peeked above my knees. When I did Jishi stood up, holding back his tears.

"WHATS THE BIG IDEA!!!!" He yelled, his voice thundering through the music room. As it did his right cheek twitched. "He's mad" I thought as I tried to crawl away from the storm.

"Well, I was passing by then I heard a piano play, so I practiced my swing through its tune." Smiling as she said that, I could see veins appear on Jishi's forehead. Then red flashed in my eyes again. I cover the implant in my ears with my hands, as my breathing got heavy. My sight turning shaky, I felt someone approach me. "Jishi..." I thought, but when I lift my gaze, I see her golden eyes centimeters from mine. Noticing the smooth, porcelain skin on her face covered in dirt.

My heartbeat raced up to a million as red flooded my view. As fiendish laughter echoed in my ear, I felt my breath break. Dashing away, feeling the burn from the carpet, I crash with the drum set behind me. "Im sorry for scaring you, you okay?" she said in a smooth voice as the drums topple backwards. Closing my eyes, I nod.

Her eyes narrow, as if annoyed by my lie. She extends her hand to me, hinting at me to take it. I tried to take it, only to crawl my way towards Jishi. His eyes giving me that worried look again before shifting his gaze to the girl. Clenching his fist, he breathed before speaking again.

"So miss, if you could please take your bat and leave," his voice annoyed, as he held back his anger.

"But I only just got here, plus I want to here that piano again" her words spoken in a happy, carefree tone. Her response turned Jishi from a human to a devil. One could see a black aura around him as he breathed again. He opened his mouth, but before speaking he looked at me. His eyes sparked with a brief thunder, his usual grin returned to his lips as he spoke.

"Ok then, Yata go play the piano again" his voice filled with a hopeful yet annoyed tone. But after processing his words, my body stiffened. I've never played in front of anyone other than Jishi and my parents. Swallowed by a million doubts and a thousand fears, I shake my head. Feeling my hand wrapped by a warm grasp.

"Please do, one more time" the girl taking my hand in hers pleaded in a sweet sounding tone. I try to run backwards, but I'm stopped by something. Looking up, I see Jishi give me one of those worried looks before grinning again.

"Move on" he said with his quiet, beefy hands. Shaking my way to the stool, I sit before the piano. Turning nervously towards Jishi, trying my best to avert my eyes from the girl.

"Please don't leave" pleading him in silence to which he only gave me a nod. Feeling the girl's golden eyes burning in anticipation, I gulp. Lifting my hands, only to have them drop, and thus I begin.

A nervous voice leaves the piano in D sharp, as an ominous adagio lurks around the room. "I'm scared" it cried elegantly and fearfully. Steadily tuning up into an allegro, after which I forgot where I was. I played the piano in 2/4 times, once again wrestling Beethoven for his words. "Les adieux" resounded in the room, its voice turning to one of bliss as a smile crawled up my lips.

My fingers possessed by this feeling continued to play until the coda where they slowed before climbing once again. Tiptoeing eagerly until the very final note, concluding the first movement in a triumphant cry. This feeling drop-kicked to the moon as I heard a resounding clap fill the air. Dragged back to earth, I remembered both Jishi, and that girl were here.

"That was amazing, thank you" her voice roared in a sweet, cheery tone, as her eyes shined in awe. While I tried to stop my heart from popping. Jishi gave me a smile of relief, as I relished in surprise. "Maybe I can change" or so I thought until she took my hand again.

"A late introduction, but my name is Ray Fons can I come here again". Everything in eyesight tainted itself red as I quickly jumped away from her. Nodding without thinking, her smile only grew as she then gave me her back. Walking to the opposite side of the room, she took her bat and reached for the door.

"Oh, also good luck with cleaning this mess" she said, the door closing behind her. Quickly Jishi and I looked around, finally realising. The music room was a mess. As if a tornado just passed through here. Broken glass scattered on the left side of the room. The drum set separated and rolling around.

"Next time I see her, I swear..." Jishi mumbled under his breath as I calmed myself. Feeling a bit stressed, I stand to look for the broom in the cabinet. Only to throw one last sigh of relief before turning to the broken glass.
