1 Sudden Confession

I stretched my aching body as I waited for my shift to end at the convenience store. I decided to work a part-time job after moving out to live on my own for college.

The pay was alright and the job was relatively easy despite having a bit of social anxiety. I put my phone away as I hear the door jingle.

Looking up, I see a familiar face, it's Riley Coop. Riley had been well known at my school for having a handsome look and friendly but distant personality.

He seemed to be a bit intoxicated though from his reddened face. He came up to the counter, placing down a water and some snacks.

"Alright, that'll be $11.69"

"I like you." He blurted out as he paid.

"..pardon?" Startled, I looked up at his flushed cheeks.

"I like you, please go out with me!" He restated.

'It's probably just some drunken nonsense..'

I thought.

"Y-you don't have to give me a reply right now...I'll see you at school tomorrow!" He rushed out with a bright red face.

"Is... is this a joke..?" I mumbled with a confused look on my face.

I guess since he said he'd see me tomorrow, it means he knows me but... why would Riley, one of the most popular guys, confess to me of all people?

I never really had a chance to run into him besides the few classes we happened to share, but even then, we had never said anything but an exchange of greetings.

Confused, I sighed and held my head in pain trying to assess this weird situation.

'Well, whatever, I leave this up to tomorrow's me..' I gave up as my shift finally ended.

As I finally got home, I flopped on my bed after a comforting shower.

Today was... interesting...
