Chapter 69: DECLAN

Running on fumes and a determination to set things right, we work away in our office until just before dinner.

We haven't made any further progress on Jayne's home since we are mostly waiting on other people to get into the office on Monday, but Lucas has succeeded in leaps and bounds where our father is concerned.

It turns out Evelyn began researching our father a year before she met him by 'happy accident' at the fundraiser. She researched all of his companies, financials, media articles and even my mother's obituary came up in her online history.

That last revelation left me seething.

How someone would research a dead spouse in order to build a fake persona is vile.
