23 Soojin's Sudden Appearance (2)

Doubting about Soojin entering the company using only her talents and skill, Mina concluded that Soojin entered the SW entertainment using connections. After all, Soojin managed to land several supporting roles due to her father's influence as a known politician and minister.

Mina used to envy Soojin's connection to PD's, famous actors, and even professors. Even though Mina had to work her butt off to get an A-plus grade, Soojin did not have to put in much effort as she does, but she got the same grade as she was.

She always treated Soojin as a friend, but she can't help but hate her being such a 'cheater,' using all of her connections to flourish herself in the ruthless entertainment industry. But it came to a point wherein Mina realized that she was only wasting her time. The time she would use envying Soojin was wasted, so she ended up practicing acting instead every time she thought of it.

All she has to do is do better than she has ever been,

No one is born the same.

Soojin's privilege as a politician's daughter and she could not do the same because she was banished from her parents for being an acting major. Mina came from a well-off family, her parents owned a construction firm, but she was never interested in engineering courses.

Aside from her natural talent and interest in acting, Mina was intelligent and book smart; she excelled in English and Math but sucked at any subject that required memorization. Realizing that she had no future in the science department, she became fascinated by her emotion while watching dramas.

When she cried at the classic drama, "Stairway to Heaven," Mina realized that she fell in love with acting, and for the first time in her life, she memorized something so easy from the start. At first, she started imitating the lines, but she suddenly even practiced more and more during her elementary years at the rooftop.

Trying to hide the surprise in Mina's face, she smiled and said, "Yes, I got in. I did not know you auditioned for SW entertainment too."

"Well, it is nice to see a familiar face here!" Soojin took a few steps closer to her and leaned in for a hug. Soojin's perfume was a combination of citrus smell and strawberry. It was the same old familiar scent that Soojin used. "Does that mean today is your first day in the company?"

Hugging back Soojin by wrapping her arms around her body, Mina spoke, "Yes, it is. I wondered how they would treat newbies like us. Since this is a big company, my expectations are getting higher."

Mina was the first one who let go of the hug and eyed the sofas in the lobby, "Why don't we go take a seat there?"

Both girls took a seat at a meter distance from each other. Mina sat northwest to Soojin's seat as she felt a little bit uncomfortable with her. They drifted apart after Soojin got a boyfriend and did not hang out with Mina anymore.

They naturally drifted apart,

It was a friendship that lost its inner connection.

Naturally, the situation became awkward for the two young women. A sudden small talk would sound weird, and initiating it when Mina was not even interested, not one bit, would make then even more awkward.

And since Mina has always been conversant and found it awkward for them to be silent, she initiated a talk. "How is your boyfriend? Aren't you still changing them from to time:

"You know me too well," Soojin grinned as she realized how Mina knew her from the bottom of her heart. Even though they drifted apart, Soojin saw Mina as a good old friend. "You do know that I change them every three months."

"No, I thought you fell in love with him for sure," Mina teased as she looked at Soojin in the eye. It has not been too long since they last saw each other, but Soojin's face changed in a good way. It looked like she injected lip fillers for her lips and botox for her neck fat. "That guy from the film studies department used to follow your around--"

Mina trailed off when she glanced over to her right and saw a familiar-looking woman approaching the two at the lobby. When Mina focused her eyes, she saw the same female employee who accompanied her towards Jeho's office.

Of course, she will never forget how useful her words that time was.

The female employee stood right in from them and smiled, "Welcome to the SW entertainment as one of the acting and writing talents, Miss Hong and Miss Jeong! I am Lee Nahee."

Mina started clapping her hands twice to express her happiness upon entering the company. She had to lower her pride and even let a man touch her just because she wanted to join the company. Though it felt good for her, so it was a win-win situation for her.

Her eyes darted to the man standing right next to the female employee named Nahee. He looked like he was an average man with an average built. She was short for her height, almost at the same height as Mina. Having minimal facial hair and a decent choice of outfit, Mina guessed it was one of their managers to follow them in their schedule.

Mina sighed.

Of course, it would suck for them if they would have the same manager. Certainly, they will have to film certain scenes in a drama for literally, like different types of management.

"I am Lim Sunghoon," The male took a step forward as he bowed her head slightly. 'I will be the manager for talent Jeong Soojin."

It was as if Mina could not believe what their manager said earlier. She was sure that Manager Lim only mentioned being the manager for talent Jeong Soojin and nothing else.

Does that mean no, she won't have any managers for her?"

Mina could not bear it anymore and started to ask questions, "Hi! May I ask to confirm that no one else came to become my manager? "

"I don't know," Manager Lim simply replied, scratching his head as a reply. "I was only informed to manage artist Jeong Soojin's schedules."
