1 Crazy Jealousy

In Miss Maria's room at the rich businessman's house.

"Hey! Jocelyn, what are you looking at? Do you think you are allowed to lay your eyes on my gorgeous evening gown?"

"I'm talking to you, you cheap girl! Look at how poor you are. You'll be like your sick mother for the rest of your life, you disgraceful b*stard!"

Maria glared at her angrily, ranting. She sounded extremely arrogant and her voice was quite high-pitched.

In front of Maria was an extremely beautiful woman. Her eyebrows were nicely trimmed, and her small mouth was juicy and tempting. Her skin was fair and in quite a good condition.

When Jocelyn heard what Maria said, she stood rooted to the ground without saying anything. She was like a beautiful piece of wood, expressionless and silent.

The maid, who was zipping up the gown behind Maria, looked terrified. She didn't even dare to breathe loudly, afraid that her actions would anger Maria.

Miss Maria was not to be trifled with. If she offended her, she would not be able to stay in this house anymore.

This white evening gown was personally designed by a famous designer who happened to be Maria's mother's friend.

Although the pattern was simple, the dress looked extraordinary.

But for some reason, Maria looked incompatible with this gorgeous dress. When she was wearing it, it looked like a cheap and poor-quality dress.

The servant behind her carefully zipped up the dress and took a step back. She didn't dare to look at Miss Maria in the eyes. There was a trace of worry in her eyes as she thought to herself, "Sigh… Poor Miss Jocelyn is getting bullied by Miss Maria again. Although they are both daughters of the family, Miss Jocelyn is always the one getting bullied and maltreated."

If Jocelyn's mother hadn't died so early, she wouldn't have ended up like this.

What a pity. The maid felt terribly sorry for Jocelyn but she dared not to stand up for her.

After changing her clothes, Maria looked at herself in the mirror with satisfaction. She brushed her hair off her shoulders and proudly raised her head to walk around in a circle a few times before a satisfied smile appeared on her face. Then, she looked at Jocelyn sideways and sneered.

"Humph, b*tch! I bet you've never seen such a beautiful dress. I'm afraid you won't live to see yourself in such a beautiful dress."

"Father is biased towards me, so no one will stand up for you at home.! She thought to herself.

As Maria sized her up and down, Jocelyn stood where she was without saying anything, but one could tell from her trembling hands what was going through her mind.

Ever since her mother passed away, she no longer had anyone to rely on. Her stepmother was harsh to her and regarded her as a thorn in her flesh. Whenever no one was around, Jocelyn would be humiliated and abused.

Meanwhile, Jocelyn's father, the head of the family, turned a blind eye to everything, which emboldened her stepmother to take the violence up a notch.

She had no choice but to tolerate it. After all, she was the most unfavored daughter in the family so no one would help her.

As usual, Jocelyn stood by the side and endured Maria's scolding. She lowered her head and did not say anything. She thought to herself, "It's alright, I'll just endure it for a while longer. I'll graduate in two months. When that time comes, I won't have to rely on my family anymore and won't have to tolerate you. Jocelyn, you can definitely do it."

Maria crossed her arms and looked at Jocelyn with a cold smile.

Just when she was about to speak, the doorbell rang. Maria quickly looked at the servant behind her and shouted, "Susan, go and take a look. Father must have brought back the diamond necklace I wanted!"

Hearing Maria's order, the maid quickly rushed out of the living room.

Maria looked anxiously at the door.

She needed a diamond necklace for the banquet tonight. Her father had already promised her that he would bring it back from his friends. It should've arrived by now. She was determined to dress up for the banquet and make the young master of the Aren family fall in love with her at first sight!

"Can I go now?" Jocelyn hesitated for a moment and asked. She wanted to escape while Maria was distracted, waiting for her diamond.

She glanced at Maria, who was looking excitedly at the door and did not seem to notice her. Jocelyn pursed her lips and turned around to walk towards the other door.

One step.

Two steps.

Then, Jocelyn heard Maria shout at the peak of her voice. Upon turning, she saw Mr. Bevis' butler walking towards the room with a bouquet of beautiful roses in his hand. The blue roses were so dazzling under the light.

"Eh, Butler Ethan, what brought you here! How is Master Bevis?" Maria was extremely happy to see Butler Ethan, and the smile on her lips was very bright.

"As expected! I have infatuated Mr. Bevis with my beauty and charm. He is now willing to spend money and time on me." Maria thought to herself.

Butler Ethan walked over quickly with a smile and a nod. There was a group of people behind him, all of them holding exquisite gift boxes.

Maria strode forward happily to welcome him. The smile on her face could not be concealed anymore, and she felt like her heart was pounding so fast that it almost popped out of her chest. But Maria, who was elated, did not notice that Butler Ethan's gaze was looking in the direction behind her, as if he was looking for someone.

"Hello, Miss Maria. Is Miss Jocelyn at home? Our Young Master selected these gifts for Miss Jocelyn!"

Butler Ethan smiled and said while looking over her shoulder. He didn't notice that there was a drastic change of expression on her face.

Butler Ethan's words were like a bucket of icy water that poured on her, making her freeze and her body all stiff. She muttered in disbelief, "Jocelyn?"

"Why Jocelyn? Isn't this what Mr. Bevis prepared for me?" Maria thought to herself, unable to come to terms with the reality just yet.

Ignoring Maria, Ethan walked past her and saw Jocelyn, who was about to walk out of the room. He quickly shouted, "Ah, Miss Jocelyn, Miss Jocelyn, wait a minute! Mr. Bevis has brought you some gifts!"

Ethan hastened to catch up with her, leaving Maria to stand there gritting her teeth in fury.

Maria's face was twisted and her mouth was tightly shut. She grasped her dress so tightly that she almost tore them apart.

When the servants saw Maria's sinister gaze, they couldn't help but shudder, nearly letting go of the gifts in their hands.

The butler hurriedly walked up and stopped Jocelyn, who was about to leave the hall.

"Miss Jocelyn!"

Hearing that, Jocelyn subconsciously turned around and saw Butler Ethan walking towards her.

Butler Ethan was the chief butler of the Yates family.

Young Master Bevis of the Yates family was famous for being a Casanova. The family was rich and powerful. They had many casinos across the country and were one of the major alcohol and tobacco dealers. Many rich ladies were willing to marry into the Yates family. Even if they got married to just a distant relative of the Yeats, they'd be rich for the rest of their life. One could imagine how rich the girl who married Master Bevis would be.

Furthermore, since he was the eldest son of the Yates family, he was, from the moment he was born, entitled to take over the family in the future.

Because of this, Maria played many tricks to get closer to Mr. Bevis. At an evening party, she invited him to her house for a banquet in front of everyone.

Bevis naturally wouldn't decline a lady in front of a crowd, as was his upbringing.

But who would have thought that when Bevis came to the banquet, he would fall in love with Jocelyn at first sight? His eyes were fixed on Jocelyn, and anyone could tell that he loved her.

However, Jocelyn directly turned him down on the excuse that her focus at this moment was her study. Since then, she tried her best to avoid seeing him.

Mr. Bevis didn't say anything on the spot. He started chatting with Maria with a smile on his face, secretly prying into Jocelyn from her.

But what no one saw coming was that today, Young Master Bevis actually sent Butler Ethan over to deliver the gifts to Jocelyn. At this thought, Maria breathed like an old water buffalo and stared at Maria viciously.

The extreme jealousy drove her crazy!

Why was it that every rich man she liked ended up being attracted to that b*tch, Jocelyn?

Why? In what way was she inferior to this b*tch?
