He's the one

Peral 

"Hello Mr. Miller" As the voice echoed, my spine shuddered and I froze.

'It can't be him' Thoughts ran through my head, while I tried to hide behind my father, but the man came close to me, giving his hand to me.

"Hello, Ms. Miller" Every single nerve in my body stood frozen, I did not want to touch him, no chance. 

"I- I" I tried my best to come up with a reason, any reason to get away but I couldn't. 

"Peral, he's waiting" My father called out and I couldn't stay hidden anymore, wait he knows my father?

I lifted my head to have a glance and the fear in my eyes was visible, but it went down looking at the man, his grey eyes making me calm down and his warm touch making me feel safe. 

"Hello," I said shaking his hand in mine and walking further in front to look at him, his grey eyes were captivating, unlike 'his' brown eyes, which were filled with lust and dominance. He let go of my hand and my father looked at me and I moved a little away.

"He is, uh-" Why is he stuttering? I stare at him and then at the man, don't tell me Dad already found the man.

"I'm Liam," he said and I looked back at my father for further explanation, but he ignored me altogether.

"Nice to meet you, Liam, I am Peral Jones, not Miller" I had to do that, there was no way I would let him misunderstand that I have lived with my father and taken his name.

"Oh, my bad, Ms. Jones," He said staring at my father, the elevator opened and I walked out, I had no time, I must quickly change the hospital.

I can't live with the fear of him finding me, though it will be hard for him because he knows nothing about me but it's not impossible, he might have followed me or even worse checked the CCTV to find where I went.

I looked back and Liam and Father were talking, I had no idea what, and to be frank their talk was the least of my worries right now.

"Mom" I walked inside the room, she was sitting up in her bed eating an apple I smiled at her.

"You here" I heard Kate, I turned my head to look at her peeping from the bathroom door, and she quickly walked out of the bathroom.

"Yes," I replied placing the bag on the couch. Kate came closer to me, I stared at her weird behavior, she is weird but she didn't really let others see it, what is she doing here, she should have left for her shift.

"What?" I ask and she points at the scarf wrapped around my neck, I struggle to come up with an explanation but it is not that easy.

"Oh this, uhm, yeah, I wanted to try something new" I know that's lame, but that's the only thing I could come up with, I couldn't tell her how I was forcefully kissed and the man left hickeys around my neck, but before she could ask any more questions, Liam walked in the room and my father behind him.

I am sure this is the guy but this is crazy how did he find a man this attractive in just one day, I mean he's above 6 feet, I might hardly touch his shoulder with my 5'3 height,

"Hello Lauren," He greeted walking closer to Mom, Kate opened her eyes wide seeing him. He grabbed the chair and sat beside my Mom, my mother didn't look startled, she definitely was not confused, she was happy.

"Hello, Liam, it's a pleasant surprise" I can sense the happiness in her voice, I would want her to be happy as long as she lives.

"I had to visit, couldn't stop myself from meeting the most beautiful woman," He said staring at me, what? is the beautiful woman me?

That's absurd, with his perfect body and jawline I am sure he had seen and dated the most beautiful women that I could ever count.

"It's good to see you again" My mother was genuinely happy and she glanced at my father and he smiled looking back.

"I kept the promise," Dad hinted from behind walking closer to Mom, I looked at him confused, my eyebrows narrowed.

"He's the one" He finally said it, there is no way he wants me, I mean yes I look good, but he's way out of my league.

"Wait what?" I knew what exactly was happening but at the same time it felt unreal, before anyone could speak Kate motioned me to come to her.

"Peral," I was glad she called me because I had no idea how to react, so I walked closer to her.

"Yes" She was just curious, just like all times, she quickly pulled my arm "Is he the one?" I narrowed my eyes at her questioning her.

"How do you know?" I asked her and she pressed her lips together glancing at them and leaned in.

"Lauren, she told me about it, she told me to convince you to say yes to the marriage," She said shrugging, I glared at her, is this really happening? I am not ready, and there is no chance he would want me.

"He is way too handsome for me, he's out of my league!" I tried to convince her, but Kate was not believing me. I don't doubt her, she surely is weak in her head.

"Do you not look in the mirror?" Kate questioned, "If you did, you wouldn't have said that" She added and move closer to me whispering in my ears "And have seen your boobs?" She pointed at my chest, yes I do have a big bust but not all men are crazy about it, maybe some, but he probably isn't.

"Okay, girl! you are getting late for your shift! run!" I tried to make her leave showing the watch on her wrist and she panicked and quickly grabbed her bag and phone running out of the room but halted staring at me.

"Seriously, at least date him even if it's for a month" She tried to convince me but I pushed her out of the room showing her the way out, I couldn't let her be with me not right now, she would surely embarrass us both.

"I'll call you later," I said trying to calm her and make her leave before she gets late.

"Yeah, keep me updated!!!" She whisper yelled from out and walked away leaving me with my family and the boy who was supposed to be the one!

I walked back to Mom and Liam, they were having tea, there was no other possible reason for him to be here if not the proposal but let's see what exactly Father is trying to do, he always has a catch.
