9 Vol 1 : The Morning ⭐

Faye woke up with a heavy head and body, "Hm ..."

What happened?

Faye looked in front of her. Again, she was finding herself in a strange room. She was not too surprised this time, it most likely to happen whenever she drinks, Mia always takes her to hotel or her house.

Wait!

Faye wasn't with Mia yesterday.

Faye gasped. She slowly glanced to her side, and sure enough there was a man there. He was topless, the worst part was that the man was Denis. Faye froze on her spot.

What happened last night? Did they do the things they shouldn't do again?

Faye immediately checked her body and breathed a sigh of relief knowing that she was wearing a white shirt that seemed to belong to Denis and the pants that were still attached to her legs. She was confused why did her upper clothes is the only one that changed.

Did Faye do anything last night?

Faye gasped again.

No way, right?

Faye was pulled away from the thought when Denis moved to hug her in his sleep. In an uncomfortable position like this, Faye had completely lost her sleepiness. She was fully awake.

With his eyes closed still, Denis whispered in Faye's sensitive ear, "Morning, Honey~"

"You have been awake for awhile right?"  asked Faye suspiciously.

Denis chuckled and finally opened his brown eyes, "I was enjoying my time staring at a beauty in front of me, but the beauty woke up so I went back to sleep~"

Faye rolled her eyes, and patted Denis on the cheek playfully before peeling herself off of the warm embrace, "Why are we here? And why am I sleeping with your shirt?"

Denis sat down, "You always destroy the atmosphere that I build in a hard way, Fay. Do you know that it's hard for me to find words that would melt your heart honey~?"

"Just answer me," said Faye in a commanding tone.

"Okay," said Denis with a laugh, "honestly last night you were drunk and  you passed out, seems like you drank a lot of alcohol, we didn't part for long, I'm sure you wouldn't have drunk more than five glasses."

Last night's memories began to enter Faye's brain again, she remembered she only drunk three glasses and strangely enough she got drunk, did the menu change according to the club theme too?

Faye gazed around the room. This room is too luxurious and too big for a hotel, "So where is this place?"

"This is the penthouse room of the 'Sapphire' club owner, Alex offered us sleep here last night," said Denis, "at first I was going to go to a hotel but because you are heavy—"

"What did you say!?" Faye cut off with rage.

"Light! Light, you are very light honey ..." said Denis panicked, "so light I really wanted to quickly monopolize you so I accepted Alex's offer."

Faye narrowed her eyes, it didn't feel like Denis wanted to say that, but she ignored it because she was imagining that Denis was having a hard time to take her.

Alex.

Faye remembered the man who danced with her last night, he was unexpectedly a good man.

"Then what about my clothes?" Faye asked calmly, on a split of second, Denis's serious face turned into a mischievous one. She swallowed her saliva nervously.

Was it wrong to ask that?

"You want a detailed, eighteen plus-plus or short explanation, honey~?" Denis replied while winking his eye teasingly.

Something was telling Faye that she should have played it safe, "It'll be censored so just give me the short version."

Denis nodded, "You teased me by tearing your shirt off, of course I refused, you begged until you finally slept. I asked the female employee in the club to dress you so you won't be cold."

Faye could not hide her embarrassment when she heard Denis story. She became curious about the long version. She immediately shook her head to shake off the thought from her hand, "The woman in the club?"

Denis nodded, "The penthouse of the club owner is behind the club, and luckily he wasn't around so Alex offered us to stay."

"Oh ..." Faye got it now.

Denis got up and stretched his body, making Faye turning away from seeing his muscles.

"Ah, yes since we are alone, I want to talk about our contract marriage."

"Tell me the deal," said Denis.

Faye hasn't really thought about this, it was so sudden and in the middle of the opening of her new restaurant. So she said whatever was on her mind, "You will stay at my house."

"Why?" Denis asked.

"Do you have a house near my restaurant?" Faye asked back, Denis fell into silence, so she continued, "You have to get a job, believe me, My Mama will talk so much if she finds out that you are unemployment."

"Noted," said Denis while gulping down her saliva, imagining Claudia interrogating him.

"How much money do you want?" asked Faye.

Denis looked surprised, "You are not putting an offer?"

Faye observed Denis while glancing at the bare body up and down, "I can't judge how much, I don't know your strengths and weaknesses, I guess from your face maybe ten thousand dollars?" or maybe more considering that Denis can cook.

Denis was flattered by what Faye said, "You think highly of me, honey~"

"That's not a compliment, I was putting a price on you and you're happy about it, huh?" Faye said in amazement, most people would be annoyed when someone did that, why did Denis like it!?

"Is there anything else?" Denis asked.

Faye thought, "That's all, we'll talk again if I have any other ideas."

"Then I'm going to take a shower, my body smells like alcohol," said Denis.

Faye nodded, while waiting for the shower to finish, is it better to find another agreement, such as a cooking schedule?

"You can join me if you want, honey~" Denis started teasing from the bathroom.

Faye rolled her eyes.

Remember.

Men are still men.

When they finished, the two of them walked out of the room. There was Alex who was watching television with a pack of snack in his hand.

"Thank you for letting me stay in here, man," said Denis.

Faye elbowed Denis, "Be polite," she muttered softly, "good morning, Alex. Oh, thanks for allowing us to spend the night here and for the new clothes."

Alex nodded, "It's okay, next time if you can't stand a drink, just ask for something light."

Faye understands "Thanks again," she said, "unfortunately we have to go home, Denis and I have work to do."

Alex rose from his seat, "Sure."

They shook each other's hand.

"Is there anything you want? A vehicle?" Alex offered politely.

Faye hurriedly shook her head, refusing, "No, we are fine with taking public transportation," she glanced at Denis who was on her side and stared at him lovingly, "right, honey~?"

"Uh, oh, that's right," Denis replied awkwardly, which amazed Faye since he doesn't usually blush like that.

"All right then, you guys know where to get out right?" asked Alex.

"Uh ... I ..." Denis tried to remember, "I honestly forgot, man. Can you show me a way out?"

Alex nodded, "I'll take you outside."

Meanwhile, Faye was wondering how could Denis forget the way when he didn't even drink last night? At least from what Faye remembered, he didn't drink at all.

Finally Alex led the way out of the penthouse. While they were walking, none of them was willing to talk, their footsteps were the only sound that filled the silence.

When they got outside, Alex finally asked something "So, how long have you been married?"

"A month," said Faye.

"A week," said Denis.

Faye and Denis looked at each other.

"Huh?" Alex was confused, he didn't know who to believe, "Are you still under the influence of the alcohol to forget how long you've been married?"

Faye immediately took an action. She wrapped her arms around Denis's arm and leaned her head against Denis's firm shoulder, "We mean it's been a month and a week, right honey~?" she asked while glancing at Denis who was blushing somehow.

"Well, yeah. That's right."

Faye squinted after hearing the dull intonation.

Alex scratched his head that was not itchy, "Then have fun, you guys, I have work to do, see you later, man," he said, waving his hand once before heading back inside.

Faye waved back at Alex until the man was completely out of sight, she glared at Denis, "What are you doing? Your acting is terrible, luckily Alex didn't ask for further details."

"Sorry honey," Denis said apologetically still with the pink shade attached to his cheeks which made Faye unable to stay angry because Denis looked cute, "so where are you going? Work?"

Faye shook her head in disbelief, "Are you kidding me? We have to register our marriage."
