chapter 11

"Kyle who's she?" merlia asked when she got closer, she didn't even know why she was asking, it wasn't any of her business anyway but the words already rolled out from her mouth before she could even process anything.

Ariel looked at her scornfully, she thought merlia was one of those gold diggers who wants to real where they did not sow, so she replied..

"I'm his girlfriend, and who are you?" and that got merlia to rethink, looks like she gonna regret her decision of coming forward. She waited for a while to see if Kyle would at least say something because she didn't want to do anything he wouldn't like but he just kept shut.

"I'm sorry please excuse me" merlia said and walked away on hurried footsteps.

One of the things she promised herself the very day she got married to that cold maniac was that she would never let him intimidate and hurt her, but it seems like the strong wall she built within her heart was already crumbling before she even knew it.

walking out of the ballroom, merlia clutched her chest very hard, it felt very difficult for her to breathe.....

'she was not supposed to feel like this....why was she feeling like this?' were the only questions running through Lia's mind when she walked out of the ballroom....looking around, Lia found herself in an empty hallway. She's didn't know where to go, she was lost.

"hey lady, are you lost?" a charming voice came from behind her and she stumbled back in shock.

"I'm sorry if i startled you, my name is Ryan" the man said.

"please can you take me somewhere I can get fresh air, the garden, terrace, anywhere" merlia asked pleadingly.

"it will be an honour,my lady" Ryan said cheekily and took her to where she assumed to be the garden.

"so what was a beautiful lady doing all alone in the hallway?" Ryan asked after she had settled down on the garden swings.

"i was...actually I only wanted to get fresh air, the air inside is hot because of the people inside" merlia lied.

"okay....i never got to know your name" he said

"oh sorry, my name is merlia " she replied and silence reigned.

"I think you should go back to the party " merlia said again when the silence was getting too much.

"I think it's better i sit with you here than go back to that party" Ryan said and sat down close to her, merlia didn't even speak to him, she just sat there, totally lost in thoughts.

"Penny for your thoughts" Ryan poked her and laughed heartily.

"Nothing, just a lot on my mind" merlia replied.

"and if i may ask, what's on your mind?, what's troubling you?"

"I don't think you should know, thanks for helping me but i really think you should leave, I don't want people gossiping about me" merlia said slightly getting annoyed.

"I'm sorry but i can't....." his words were cut short when merlia stood up.

"Calm down, I'm just trying to be nice okay" He stood up with her

"Thank you so much I really appreciate" merlia said to him and when she was about to leave, he pulled her towards him.

"And what the fuck is going on here?" a cold masculine voice came in through the hallway and merlia froze.

'That voice... oh Jesus.... I'm so dead right now' merlia pushed the man away from her and stepped back a little..... Kyle came forward and she could see the darkness that was extracting from him.

"Nick..." Kyle called out and a guy came out of nowhere and...

"yes boss" Nick replied

"deal with him" Kyle said to Nick and walked towards merlia

"follow me, we're going home" he said to her coldly and walked away, merlia quickly followed him.

Walking towards the entrance door, kyle was about to push the door open but he was stopped by the "celebrant".

"don't tell me you're going home already?" he said

"yes grandfather" Kyle replied coldly

"well, that's not your decision to make... you're going to stay".... turning towards merlia... "Lia girl, I'm sure you would want to chat with me and know me better right?"

"yes grandfather" merlia said happily because she knows she just touched the tigers tail and Kyle look at her angrily

"you see, now come with me merlia, let's have a chat" the grandfather said and melia quickly walked towards him, escaping from the rot of Kyle, while he just angrily turned and started walking towards the stairs without saying anything.

Merlia finally retired to kyle's room after the amazing chat she had with grandfather grey, it wasn't easy locating the room as she had to ask some of the maids who works there.

On getting to the room, merlia entered the room and closed the door but as soon as she turned, she was pushed against the door and what faced her was a beautiful angry demon.

"what were you doing with that guy?" he asked in an angry tone.

"I wasn't doing anything with him" merlia retorted.

"oh really, you weren't doing anything but he was holding you close to him" Kyle said angrily with his veins almost popping out.

"Do you have a problem with that?" merlia asked angrily.

"you're my f*cking wife merlia and whatever you do is my business"

"oh really, now I'm your wife... when you were busy hugging a girl i know nothing about... you didn't think that I'm your wife" merlia said angrily and unknowingly blurted out what was going on in her head.

"Are you talking about Ariel?" Kyle asked

"forget it, just go back to your girlfriend and leave me alone" merlia said coldly and wanted to walk away but was pushed back again but this time his lips went for hers. He kissed her slowly at first but it became hot and aggressive as time goes by.

merlia didn't respond but instead bit him on his lips and he backed off.

"how dare you kiss me?" it wasn't her first kiss but it felt so good...but then again, she couldn't let him do that.

"how dare i kiss my wife?" Kyle asked annoyed and merlia was dumbfounded.

"you're out of your senses" merlia insulted him for the first time and she could swear that it felt really good.

"go and have your bath, we have to talk, you reek of his cologne" Kyle said irritatedly and walked towards the dressing room. merlia scoffed and went to the bathroom.

After she was done with bathing and wearing something comfortable for the night though it was Kyle's clothes. merlia sat down on one side of the bed.

"So.... what do you want to talk about?" merlia asked totally acting as if what happened before was just a dream.

"Ariel is my childhood friend and there's nothing going on between us" Kyle stated while starting intently at her.

"but she hugged you so passionately and you didn't stop her, when you know you've never hugged me before.....she told me that she was your girlfriend and you couldn't even tell her that i was your wife....wait!, why are we even having this conversation?, we mean nothing to each other okay and I won't judge you for anything, you can leave your life the way you want it, you made it clear from the start that I should stay away from your business, and that kiss....it meant nothing" merlia said to him, with her delicious chest heaving up and down.
