A voice from the radio transmits, "[Phoenix do you copy?]"

"[Phoenix do you-]"

"Call me by that code name one more time and I might as well desert on you fuckers." A feminine voice replies to the voice from the radio, her appearance is of a mature woman, her hair being dark purple as well as her eyes. "Respect for the fact that I didn't desert you worthless meat bags months ago at the Genome 2."

"[Come on now Alester, you wouldn't do that to us ok the frontlines would you?]"

"..."

"[Anyways, do what you do best kid.]" The voice from the radio said before shutting down transmission.

Alester sighs before setting up her sniper rifle. Her position is above a cliff, approximately 500 meters above sea level and 2 kilometers away from the person whose transmission is from the radio earlier.

"Hey Elaine, do what you're paid for." She said as she locks her eye onto the scope.

"Y-yes miss!" Elaine shutters from the sudden command, "b-but don't you think it's about time the Empire converted their army to the AI machines like the Union did?" Elaine asks while unloading cooling rounds from her bag.

"Just shut up and do your job! Those fuckers down there won't last long, even if they're worthless to me I don't give a fuck! They have a family waiting for them back home, and that is the reason why I will try to help." Alester shouts at Elaine for a moment before hearing blasters being shot from the distance which took their attention.

"Shit.. what are you waiting for!?" Alester shouts out to her before grabbing onto the transmitter, "You meat bags down there, use fucking tracer rounds for fuck sake I can't see where they are up here!"

After a few seconds she began to notice tracers from the men below, "[Hurry up and take your kills Alester, if we continue using tracers their anti-infantry weapons will wipe us out.]"

'seeing how they aim, it's more likely a whole regiment of 30 to 35.' Alester thought before having a wide grin on her face and held onto the trigger, she found her first 3 targets and...

....

From below, the men notice the high speed rounds from Alester's sniper reaching her target. As for Elaine, she's surprised that Alester could have a grin on her face just by killing people. "Is this, a woman or... A demon..?" She thought but was cut short after remembering about the coolers.

Replacing her sniper cooler with another one after just 3 shots, Alester finds her next target. "It's a bummer to think longer range takes more energy and releases more heat than regularly, other than that it's an instant kill for the amount of force used to reach those ranges so I can't complain about it." She said to herself before shooting once more.

From below the enemy regiment starts to panic since they notice Alester's presence now but couldn't pinpoint where, this gave the marines a chance to counter attack even before the anti-infantry could reach the battlefield.

"[Hey Al, mind shooting those anti-infantry weapons?]"

"I can't aim dumbass, they have camouflage on their anti-infantry and they used the heat of the land to cover the heat emitted by the vehicle" Alester replies with an unfazed expression as she shoots another three of the enemy dead.

When she was about to change coolers she felt an uneasy aura from behind, she turns around with her sniper locked with onto eyesight. She didn't expect Elaine to be holding a gun onto her head.

"Drop the gun Elaine, unless you're the spy who's been feeding those Republic guys information?" Alester knows that she has the faster reaction time here, but wants to know why Elaine is fighting against her at the moment like this.

"You people from the Empire are why I lost my sister, my mother, my family! I trained for so long... Only to be listed with a crap shit sniper like you!"

"You should've taken your chance long ago.. were at least the same age kid.. 5 years apart right?" Alester tries to get out without any blood spilled onto her face but Elaine wasn't going to drop her gun.

There was silence, a long one to be exact. Alester wants to continue the fight behind her right now but Elaine is waiting for her to lower her guard on her just so she can kill Al.

"..... This won't change anything.." Alester said before shooting Elaine dead on the heart, as expected Elaine's reaction was slower and she only got to scrape a bit of Alester's hair before falling dead on the ground. 'what a waste of a bullet...'

"Marines do you copy?" She uses the transmission, no response.

"....." There was silence once again.

"I was too late wasn't I.." she said to herself before standing up, grabbing a few coolers for her sniper and leaving the spot.

The marines were wiped out from the anti-infantry vehicle, they didn't have enough heavy weaponry to fend off a heavy vehicle like that.

"[Your telling me the 197th marine Division was wiped out?]" A man from the radio asks Alester who was still on the planet.

"I had some problems myself, I couldn't save them in time.." she said through a mic, "anti-infantry vehicles, next time don't leave your marines with so little Anti-IV destroyer missiles." She said before shutting the transmission.

Lighting up a cigarette and looking at the setting horizon, "I guess I'll have to wait for a new marine group to be listed on... How many is this.. the 10th?" She ask herself, puffing out smoke and throwing the lighter towards the horizon.

"[You will be listed as a royal service sniper for the emperor, Alester, this was a choice from the emperor himself]" the man on the radio said, making Alester choke on some air and dropping her cigarette.

Being a RSS was harder than being a master sniper, you could get a million headshots and still not get the opportunity as a RSS. This conclusion from the emperor himself made Al shock but later regained herself after remembering who it is.

"So my own father wants me as his bodyguard? I expected more from him to be honest."
