1 Escape

In the endless dark abyss, a hoarse crooked voice, a voice filled with sorrow and resentment complimenting the chasm of surrounding darkness. Echoing out towards the bottomless pit.

A pure bright white ball of light, chained in pure ethereal black chains were the only things that could be seen in this boundless darkness.

As the hoarse voice grew louder and louder the ball of light slowly started to form a ghostly transparent man bound by the pitch black chains.

This man was Solomon. Once a powerful mage who sought absolute power, someone who left countless legends and tales from his past endeavours. He was sealed in another dimension by the Gods who were jealous of his passion for knowledge, to be tortured for all of eternity.

"Cough… almost done"

Over an unknown amount of time, to many centuries to keep count of. Solomon thought and planned an endless amount of times of how to escape, and now was the time he planned to carry it out.

The ball of light resembling a man slowly but surely started to shatter and small white particles started to drift down the abyss like chasm.

"Ahhhh"

A painful wail from the ball of light reverberated the surroundings.

This ball of light was the soul of Solomon and the shattering of anyone's soul would bring an indescribable amount of pain and agony.

"I have to do this, I don't have much time left to live anymore" thought Solomon

Clenching what could be assumed to be teeth, the soul of Solomon continued to shatter. Creating a beautiful trail of white lights falling down more tranquilly than snow.

The soul shrank to half the original size of 1.5 meters, 0.7 meters, 0.3 meters, 0.1 meters until the ball of light completely disappeared leaving only the broken pieces of light and now empty chains left in the darkness.

After an unknown amount of time passed, one broken light fell towards another. The two lights fused together becoming slightly bigger than what 1 + 1 should equal. The other broken lights soon followed suit.

The faint flickering lights started to ricochet towards one another, as if each had a magnetic field that pulled in other lights.

What could be described as thousands of flickering lights slowly started to congregate to form one single mass. This light, the biggest of the others spanning roughly 0.3 meters, started to absorb all the other lights.

As if at an eating contest, the 0.3 meter ball of light consumed at a frightening pace. Soon reforming to become a soul of 1.75 meters.

"Huuu An unexpected harvest" Solomon breathed in wryly.

Solomon's first step to escape was to shatter his own soul. Which no normal person who didn't have an unyielding will to persevere could carry out.

Yet if they did somehow manage to shatter their own soul, congrats you tortured yourself to a point worse than death, leaving your soul to scatter in the winds.

Solomon was a genius in magic and had to steel his resolve to break his own soul and find a way to reshape his soul together again. This took centuries of theoretical ideas, imaginary practise and an absurd amount of knowledge which only someone like Solomon carry out.

"Although I've managed to piece my soul together again, I hope I don't have to do anything as excruciatingly painful as that in the future"

"Even though my soul seems to have become larger than before, this is to painful and relies heavily on luck to be a good method to strengthen a soul, i'll have to research more if I want this to be a viable method after I escape my prison" Solomon contemplated this use of strengthening the soul but soon gave up on that idea.

Walking towards the ethereal black chains that once sealed him, Solomon looked at it disdainfully before assembling it to become a circle with a star in it. These chain held powerful mana that came from the Gods, and being able to seal someones soul was just a crude use for something so powerful.

Solomon then broke off a negligible bit of his soul and placed it in the outer ring of the circle.

"I'll have to use this to supplement the lack of my own mana"

Then he started to recite a chant that moved the broken soul piece to form a set runes.

As runes started to surround the entire circle, Solomon walked into the centre of the star and started to recite a new chant.

This new chant was entirely different from what he used to make the runes, if the chant for the runes was described as orderly and set, this new chant was chaotic and seemed to have no flow.

This was the language that was often used to summon demons, this language was often associated with demon worshipers but from Solomon's research it had nothing to do with demons. It seemed to have stemmed from a lost ancient civilisation that was proficient in summoning magnificent beasts.

So although it was often used by demon worshippers, the key principle was that it had powerful summoning power.

Solomon once used it in a battle to win, but was then ostracised by the human nations thinking he was a demon worshipper.

Of course Solomon didn't care as he sought absolute power and didn't need to be accepted by others for using what they didn't understand and he knew that people with fake power would not listen to someone who they think, they could use to get a better standing in society.

Solomon's chant reached a close and the runes lit up brightly, enveloping himself and lighting the surrounding abyss like darkness.

As the light started to fade away, the runes shattered, the previously pitch black chains faded away from existence and Solomon who stood in the star shaped formation disappeared.

Woosh

A man drenched in cold sweat, lying on his bed woke up and looked around his surroundings.

A modern styled apartment room could be seen, with only the bare necessities decorated. The man got up from the bed, wiped the sweat formed on his forehead and then walked towards the window of the apartment room.

This man was naturally Solomon. His lip curled up when he looked out the window.

"I succeeded in my escape, and my summoning spell seemed to have worked as well. Hahaha, I am truly blessed by magic"

The spell Solomon cast was capable of sending people to other worlds and now the ruler of magic Solomon had been transported to another world, Earth.
