Zack faced the swarm, watching the weaker specimens try and fail to crunch through their fellow comrade.

Even the level nine ones were having a hard time, hardly scratching at the surface.

As he approached, they didn't stop their efforts. What was a level nine threat in comparison to the benefits of devouring their comrade?

Incomparable, in their minds. Even when he stood right next to them, they failed to lash out.

That changed though, as Zack violently slashed off a leg to the specimen to his right.

The offended spider quickly stopped its futile attempts at clawing at its comrade, turning towards Zack.

The threat of his presence finally took precdence, but only for that one Aphana. All the others continued, disregarding their other comrade's strife.

Thus, the fight was taken away from the swarm, around where Kallisto had passed out previously.
