Chapter 44 - Memories II: Rush

"Ah!" Yue exclaimed as she was suddenly transported while in the middle of her thoughts.

As she was transported the scenery started to shift.

The first thing she noticed was that she was up in the air falling down.

"Wait! Why am I up in the air?!"

While falling, Yue struggled and tried to figure out what was happening.

Without her doing anything, her fall gradually slowed down on its own before stabilizing in the middle of the air.

"Sigh* at least I didn't fall all the way down."

After calming down, she started to survey the surroundings.

And to her shock, she saw a ruined city below her.

Houses and structures were destroyed into rubbles.

Fire can be seen in some places as smoke rises up in the air.

While dead bodies of both civilians and soldiers were littered all over the street, as blood was splattered all around.

Seeing the dead bodies, her face scrunched up for a bit.

Some were brutally killed, while others were raped before they were killed.

Even with the training she had when she was young, what she saw was much more brutal than what she was used to.

Despite this, she quickly composed herself like how she was taught to handle situations like this.

"Hmm…" She eyed the dead bodies littered all around.

"Elves?" She saw that the civilians were all elves insinuating that she was in an elven city. She observed the architecture of the buildings and quickly confirmed that it was indeed an elven city.

"From the looks of the dead bodies of the aggressors, it looks like the city was invaded by humans."

She then heard some metals clashing in the distance, she looked in that direction and saw elves and humans fighting with one another in the street.

"But why would the soulbond show me war?"

"Does it have something to do with big brother?"

"He did say we were both elves in the last timeline." She worriedly taught, as the signs of war and destruction was inside an elven city with elves being raped and killed

Her thoughts ran wild, trying to figure out what is happening.

"Maybe…" As she was thought of something.

Her body suddenly flew towards the street.

"Wah!" Startled, Yue let out a quick yelp.

Quickly composing herself, she started looking at what was happening.

She tried moving around or controlling the direction of her flight, but it was all for naught as it seems that she had no control over her situation at the moment.

"Sigh* were is it taking me this time?" With a resigned expression, she simply just observed.

She was looking at her surroundings while whatever supernatural phenomenon flew her towards the street when suddenly she felt a second set of emotions inside her.

"Big brother!" She exclaimed happily as she knew that these feelings were her big brother's

"Hmm?" As the connection was established, her expression quickly shifted to a frown.

"These emotions…" She quietly said.

She then placed a hand over her heart as it was beating rapidly due to the influence of Avery's emotions.

"What is he so worried about?" She said worriedly, as being able to feel this much worry from her big brother was alarming given that they were trained to control much of their emotions.

The emotion she felt was intense.

It was as if something that meant the world to them was at stake if his worries were to come true.

She felt, anxiety, fear, hope, and a bit of anger in the connection between her and her big brother. Though the anger was overshadowed by the amount of fear and anxiety she felt through the connection she had with her big brother.

She then heard the sounds of gallop and quickly looked towards the direction it was coming from.

There she saw her big brother, with a battered appearance that seems to have just escaped a tough battle.

He was riding a horse she speed past the street, not minding the surroundings or pleading for help from the bodies that barely survived.

His expression showed the emotions she felt from the connection.

Anxiousness, fear, and a bit of hope.

Yue's body then flew along the side of Avery as he on his horse rushed forward.

She finally then can hear what her big brother was thinking.

'Please! Please! Survive! I am almost there!'

"Come on! Faster!!" He yelled as he spurred the horse to run faster.

"B-big brother?" Yue was astounded, she had never seen his big brother that worried before.

Even when they were running from their family's enemy, he wasn't that worried. But today, she saw something completely different. He was letting his emotions control him. Letting it wildly flow free.

Her calm and composed big brother who could stay calm while being hunted was now worried sick.

She then saw Avery, heading towards the street where the battle was occurring.

Though instead of fighting she saw him rush past all of them.

Though some enemies blocked him as hacked and shot arrows at him, but he steeled himself and pushed forward despite having little mana left due to the recent battle he came from.

He parried and deflected the arrows.

Though he was not able to get scott free as an arrow managed to slip past and hit his shoulder.

He disregarded it and kept pushing forward.

He would have taken another way or used magic if he can, but this was the only available road leading to the palace where Yue was currently at.

The other road was filled with enemies, while the tunnels completely collapsed. The enemy seemed to have sealed all routes.

As he rushed forward he suddenly found himself stuck as there was a large group of enemies packed up together, blocking him and preventing his horse from moving forward.

"Damn!" He angrily yelled and slashed strongly at the humans in front of him.

'I don't have time for this! I need to save her!!' He screamed inside his head as he spurred the horse.

"Neigh.....!" The horse neighed and raised its front feet up.
