17 04 - Psst! I have a Deal For You... Interested?
After tirelessly reading through many texts throughout the night along with using his 'Long Distance Observation Magic', Fang Lin easily found the location of his target, the 'Ancient Orchid City Ruins'. Nie Li's knowledge definitely came in handy as he was able to easily decipher the ancient texts. That or it was the system's passive language translation function, whichever one Fang Lin is unsure though.
Looking out the window, Fang Lin noticed the sun just about to rise in the eastern sky. Wow, even after pulling an all nighter, Fang Lin didn't feel tired at all. Being higher level sure have its perks...
(Xiao Bai, did anything special happen with Nie Li and his group?) suddenly asked Fang Lin as he remembered sending her on a little spying mission. The answer he got in return however just made him sweatdrop...
(---yawn--- Sheeps.... they ---yawn--- killed sheeps. Lots of sheeps...) said a very tired sounding Xiao Bai. The heck...? At our current levels, staying up for a couple of days shouldn't even slow us down a little.
"So besides being a glutton, she's also lazy cat... ---sigh--- I really worry about her future, that one... might even become good friends with that Lu Piao fellow. Besides that, it doesn't look like Nie Li is deviating from his 'original' path." What Xiao Bai said next however, gave Fang Lin a really big surprise.
(Oh yeah, Boss! Something happened to big sis when she cultivated last night!) Hearing that almost gave Fang Lin a heart attack! What happened!? Before he could panic any further though, Xiao Bai continued speaking. (Yeah, from what she told me, as soon as she cultivated with that manual you gave her, she almost immediately did 'soul forming'!)
Hearing her explanation Fang Lin instantly relaxed. What, that's it? Don't scare me like that, oi! Uncaring of Fang Lin's feelings however, Xiao Bai went on the attack again! (Oh yeah! When big sis cultivated, said she noticed that her exp went up a little!) With that final hammer strike, Fang Lin froze once again.
Eh...? Exp...? From cultivating?.... NAAANNIIIII!? (What!? Xiao Bai! Are you absolutely sure that's what Ning'er said!?) After getting the confirmation from her, Fang Lin was both excited and confused at the same time. It seems like, even if they don't go out killing mobs after mobs, they can still rise in level! But how come when he tried cultivating the Dragon God Ascension before, he didn't gain anything? Was it because he didn't absorb the energy and was only gathering them to reconstruct his physical body? That seems like a plausible explanation.
Perfect timing... since he's got a shit load of cultivation manual from Nie Li yesterday, maybe there will be something that also suits him? Without wasting any time, Fang Lin took an unused soul crystal that just so happened to be conveniently sitting on the top of his desk. While Fang Lin normally would be unable to manipulate his soul force before, now that he's gained Nie Li's vast knowledge on the matter, he's gained some ideas on how to do so now.
After some rough handling of the soul force due to inexperience, Fang Lin finally managed to inject a tiny amount of his soul force into the soul crystal. Right away, the crystal began gaining a golden glow. What surprised him however was the fact his soul realm had the formless attribute. Actually is the same as Nie Li!
Thinking a bit, Fang Lin decided that this result was due to the system itself... Being formless means that he is malleable and can become anything. Otherwise how else can he keep buying skills and bloodlines from the system without there being some things conflicting with one another? The more he thought on this possibility, the more it made sense and no longer worried about it.
The question now is which cultivation manual should he choose? After a bit of thinking, Fang Lin finally decided on the 'Heavenly God' technique, the same as Nie Li since his soul realm also had formless attribute. So what if it's much slower than the others? He still had the system's help after all if he needs to level up. With that decided, he began cultivating right away.
After a full hour went by, Fang Lin finally opened his eyes and immediately went to check his stats and was pretty happy with what he found.

But still though... 1% every hour is really too slow... perhaps if he had 'elixirs' to help speed up the process? Looks like he'll need to visit director Yang Xin before he leaves for the Ancient Orchid City Ruins... before that though, he should drop by to meet his 'father in law' and give him a new cultivation manual. The only problem is, what kind of bullshit excuse should he use if.. no, when the City Lord asks where he obtained the manuals....

Back in the apprentice fighter class, Xiao Ning'er and Ye Ziyun could be seen sitting in the same desk together. They chatting away happily all the while ignoring the mobs admiring the sight of the two fairies conversing. As for the question posed by Ning'er the day prior, Ye Ziyun could only answer that she was unsure and would like more time to think about it. At the same time, she was asking Ning'er about what she knows of Fang Lin as she seemed to be pretty close with him. Nie Li and his friends on the other hands looked like they're about to drop from not having enough sleep. Must be the effect from counting all those sheeps...

As for Fang Lin, he's currently seen brazenly sitting in a chair, behind the desk of someone else's office. Director Yang Xin of the alchemy association to be specific. Right! Because he found going to through the proper steps would have been too annoying to deal with, he just spammed use his 'hypnotism' and just went in like he owned the place, waiting for the actual owner to show up.
After a few minutes of waiting, Fang Lin was not disappointed as the owner indeed did show up. In front of him stood a voluptuous woman around 25 years of age. All in all a very beautiful woman that exudes a charm neither Ning'er nor Ziyun could at the moment due to them being too young.
Yang Xin on the hand was completely startled. Who was this boy in front of her? Even if she isn't one of the strongest in Glory City, she's still at least of the Gold rank! To not even notice his presence at all means that he was at the very least in the Black Gold rank! At such a young age too if that's his true appearance. Dealing with a person of unknown intention and unknown strength, Yang Xin could only warily probe for his purpose.
"Ara~ What a surprise... I wasn't expecting a guest this morning. May I ask who this young master is and what is your purpose for coming here?" asked Yang Xin in a sing-song tone while at the same inspecting the features of this intruder. What she found, she couldn't help but marvel at his otherworldly appearance... and those mesmerising red eyes of his.... NO! Bad Yang Xin, he's younger than you! Plus, his intentions and allegiance are still unknown!
Seeing her reactions, Fang Lin just gave a slight chuckle. "No need to be so weary, director Yang Xin. My name is Fang Lin and I apologize for the slight intrusion. As a token of my sincerity, I'll give you a little gift." After saying so, Fang Lin toss to Yang Xin a little booklet that he wrote some elixir recipes into before coming here. Yang Xin couldn't help but exclaimed out loud after examining the content. More so when she finally remembered where she heard the name 'Fang Lin' from.
"That was just a little apology gift. As for my reasons for coming here.... I have a little business proposal with you and the alchemy association. I wonder... if you'd be... interested for a little discussion?" Said Fang Lin slowly while giving Yang Xin the feeling that she's about to make a deal with the devil... Little did she know... Fang Lin technically is 'a' devil so she's not too far off...
With nothing to lose, Yang Xin agreed to the discussion. And so starts one of the many 'talks' they will be having from now on all the while getting closer to each other...
