4 Chapter 4
After discussing with his soldiers, fendrel decided to go first, and see if he can communicate with the goblins. Since he needs someone to become his villagers, he doesn't want to resolve to violence first.
Fendrel got out of hiding, and walk towards the village. Because of the sudden appearance of fendrel, the goblins became alert. All the goblin warriors pick up their weapons and blocked fendrel.
"I'm not here to fight. Where is your chief or leader?, please tell your chief, that I want to talk to him" he tried to talk, even if they can't understand him.
All the goblin warriors have a confused look, after seeing the confused look of the goblins. Fendrel sigh 'do I really need to fight them, and make them submit to me' when he was about to decide what to do, he heard a voice coming out of the village. He looks at it and what he saw was an elderly, who was a little different than the other goblins. it has human height, and a face that identical to humans, and has green skin, it also has two fangs sticking out of its mouth. Although its back was bent because of old age, and walk with a stick in its hand to support him, it has an aura that different from the other goblins.
"Hello sir, I'm hobgoblin gioz chief of this village. I heard sire wants to talk to me, may I know what sir want to talk about?" the elder goblin said respectfully, the elder can feel, that the person in front of him was not to be a mess with, not just its aura, but its look and height look imposing as well, he is being cautious.
"It's great, that there's someone who can talk, I Don't need to fight" fendrel murmured to himself "Ahem, my name is fendrel, and I want to talk to you, about your village"
Gioz didn't hear what fendrel murmur, but the second sentence make his face frown.
"What sir fendrel, want to our small village?"
"What if I tell you that I can make your village prosper" fendrel mysteriously said.
Gioz eyes lit up, he once ventured outside the forest and saw grand and imposing cities of humans. He promised to himself, that he wants a place like that for the goblins to live. When he comes back to the forest, he convinced a 3 small goblin community, to build a village and live together. But he realized that how foolish he was, he wants to build a city with these dumb goblins, which is just a pipe dream, and also he is getting old. He already gives up to have a city, and live a simple life until he died.
Now someone saying that he can make this shabby village prosper.
"Then, what sire want?" Gioz inquired, even though he's confused about how he will do it, as long as there's a city that a goblin can live since goblin is considered a monster and dirty creature in every race. He wants to prove to all, that goblins are also an intelligent species, and can find a place in this world.
"I want you all to become under me" fendrel said with seriousness.
Gioz becomes serious and pondered a bit. After some time, he began to speak.
"Then, you need to prove yourself first to convince them" after saying that gioz aura change, he becomes a master, which was filled with confidence and experience.
fendrel got startled by the sudden change of gioz, then become excited. 'His level might be higher than me to give me pressure, even though he is old now, and cannot exert his full power. The pressure that he's emitting right now, is enough to give me a headache."
Because of the sudden change of dioz, the goblins thought that they were about to fight, begone clamoring. Fendrel soldiers also startled, and began coming out of hiding, to back up fendrel.
Fendrel makes a motion to tell the soldiers that it's okay, and gioz also calms down the goblins.
"Okay, I will make you see, that you won't regret becoming my subordinate" after he said that, he equip his two axe, this axe was given by the system so it's a little shabby. There's equipment in the system, but because of the staggering price, fendrel didn't bother to look at those items.
Seeing the two are about to fight, the goblins and soldiers, backing out to make space for the two.
Gioz miraculously straightens up and borrows a sword from a goblin warrior. Fendrel eyebrows twitched, 'what the heck, don't tell me, that this old man is just pretending a while ago'
Gioz was already sprinting towards fendrel, disrupting Fendrel's thought. The feeble old man awhile ago is now gone, replaced by a veteran warrior. Fendrel clicked his tongue in wonder, he raised his axe to greet the sprinting gioz.
When gioz was already in front of him, fendrel slash his axe downward, but gioz sidestep a little to evade the attack, gioz counterattack with a slash, but fendrel jumped backward.
"Old man, you really know how to act, you look like a dying old man awhile ago, but now you're moving like, you're in your prime" fendrel teased gioz
"You misunderstood me sir fendrel, I just want to have a good fight with you" gioz answer with a calm look, didn't mind the teasing of fendrel.
'This old man really shattered my understanding about goblins' fendrel thought.
"old man, let's start the round two. I will become serious, so be ready" fendrel said

After half an hour, their duel is coming to an end. Gioz flung to the air, stabilize herself, but before he could land. Fendrel attack again, he used 'throw axe'. Gioz didn't have a choice, but to block the incoming attack. He got blasted again and landed on the ground.
'Ah, my old bones' he is planning to surrender because his bones are really about to break.
"I surrender" when fendrel heard the old man, he sighed in relief.
'This old hobgoblin is really powerful, I only caught him off guard, because of the skill war cry, that stuns him for one second, instead of two. And also because of his old age, if not I don't really know how to win.' fendrel approach gioz, and help him stand up.
But gioz didn't stand up, instead, he kneel in front of fendrel.
"I gioz vow, that I will never betray and become loyal, to sir fendrel" gioz make a solemn vow.
Fendrel becomes dazed, not because of gioz vow, but because of the metallic voice in his mind, and the transparent screen. That floating in front of him.
