1 TROUBLE: CHAPTER ONE

Waking up drenched in sweat,judging by the time it was early morning and still very much dark. This has been something happening for quite sometime now and honestly I'm scared of it and also waking up everyday,with the feeling of unbearable heat coursing through me. Sighing to my self,I decide to get up to take my bath,so I can start my day early because there is always a lot of work to be done.

Softly walking into the bathroom so as not to disturb my room mate,I took my bath and tidy up the room as quietly as possible,we are just two in the room and we are best friends and always there for each other, her name's Yna, she is a good person and we just seem to think alike,I softly go back to my bed and just try to reflect on my life.

We grew up and still growing in a place called De Areopagus, what comes to my mind while describing here it's a fortress at least that's what I think. It is built in levels with huge walls surrounding it and as a "student" here we go through different stages,it's not like we have a choice namely De Aram,De Chadian,De Aramaic and De Nard.

I'm still in the De Chadian so I and Yna stays in De Chadian level. I really don't know anything beyond the walls of De Areopagus.

When asked we are shunned, so I've learnt to keep my mouth shut and speak only when spoken to. I really don't know how I got here,but that's the least of my problem. And for a sixteen years old... sighing to my self I decide to wake Yna,before the bell rings so we wouldn't miss break fast.

"Hey Yna wake up" I said and shake her softly.

"What Nina?" she questions,mumbling to herself.

"Wake up" I said

"Fine!" she exclaims rolling her eyes at me.

I smiled at her and walked to the wardrobe to get our uniform,which consists of a white beret,a black and white gown,white shoes and white socks. Staring at my self in the mirror, I fix my hair and beret well and just stare my brown eyes looking back at me.

"Are you going to stand there and stare at the mirror all day or are we going to"

"Yna fine let's go" I cut her off smiling.

The bell has long since rang,so we hurry through the halls. Standing in the long queue I sigh to my self.

"Yna what are you ordering?" I asked

"hmmmmm hot chocolate and pancakes" she replies,licking her lips I smile at her

"You?" she asked

"Well I will have hot chocolate and waffles" I reply wriggling my eyebrows at her and chuckling to my self.

"Why don't we do a trade" she says. Here she goes again.

"You give me half your waffles and I will give you half my pancakes?" she says rubbing her belly.

"Ahhh fine, you're so greedy" I reply smiling.

After ordering our foods we eat fast to get to your "class" early.

"Do you notice anything different or strange about today?" I asked

"No,why do you ask?" she replies

"it's just I have this weird feelings about today you know? but I guess it's nothing though". I reply smiling

" hmmm let's forget about that for now okay?" she said.

"Fine." I reply.

We take long steps,but on getting to class there was no instructor inside,which was very weird because it has never happened before. From the speakers around the class,we are given clear warnings to sit and not to speak to each other,we dare not defy it. Everyone was exchanging worried glances but we kept our mouth sealed tight. Minutes passed and all of a sudden "mothers" barged into the class in a frantic manner,we cal them mothers because they take care of our personal needs. Their faces where pale and sweaty and they were quickly handing us some sort of glass mask to put on,frantically helping us to wear it properly.

They divided us into two groups,we paired,I and Yna got paired because we sat close together, what was happening was really unsettling, we exchanged worried glances. As we walked out of the class, but not before getting seriously warned not to speak to each other. Getting to the hallway's,I realized. Everyone was also out and wearing the same glass type of mask, I and Yna held hands tightly.

As we were going down the hallway's we were venturing to places we haven't been to before, which on it's own was frightening. Other groups had joined us we got to a basement or underground bunker of some sorts I'm not sure. All of a sudden, I heard an explosion or something really close to that because the whole building shook we almost were swept off our feet,my heart did a double take,we were all trembling. That was when I knew there is trouble looming like a dark cloud. We were quickly taking inside and walked a little bit further till we stopped in front of a huge steel door,mothers frantically typed in a code to open it as she was about to type in the last code there was another huge explosion closer than before which knocked us all off of our feet and I knew some thing bad was happening, I was sweating so bad and so very scared looking over at Yna she is not any better,shakily standing on my feet I tightly grasp her and and pull her up.

"Is everyone alright?" asked mothers in a shaky voice.

"Yes" we all replied

Mothers tries to punch in the code again,she succeeds this time. The door opens with a loud groan as we were about to file in,the loudest explosion so far happened,the whole light flickers, I can hear shouting and screaming everywhere and some whimpers.

"what's going on?" Yna asked whispering.

"Shhhh let's be quite I really don't know,but let's try to stay together okay?" I reply whispering, softly smiling.

"Okay" she says tightening our hands together to get her point across.

"come on let's go everyone" mothers says.

We all hurriedly enter a sort of elevator,we went down and when the steel door opens,we are met with some sort of chamber I guess

"Everyone stand still and don't move" mothers says.

A gush of air hits us as if we are being cleansed,after this a door opens and we came face to face with a sort of huge bunker,it's cold and their are rows of beds,

",everyone carefully remove your mask,and put it in the box and you all stay in a line and most importantly no speaking alright,it's for your safety ?" mothers asked

"yes mothers" we all replied

she goes to a place and brings out a bag and she gave each and everyone of us a sort of pill and a shot.

"everyone go lie on the bed and be quiet about it "mothers said

Looking at her I know she is trying so had to mask her feelings, but I know she is terrified of what is happening. I'm also terrified because I don't know what is happening right now, if it will be good or bad for us honestly and if we are truly safe in here,but I will try to maintain good and positive thoughts.

Sighing to my self,I climb on the bed,turning to my right side,so I could face Yna she's in the bed beside me smiling at her she smiles back,I'm just trying to distract her and my self from the " war" that rages on above us.

Waking up drenched in sweat frantically looking around,everyone is screaming,there is a loud explosion from where we came in like someone or something is trying to get in here. Quickly getting off the bed I and Yna hurdle together tightly holding hand's,Yna is sobbing and trembling so much,I'm not any better I feel so faint looking over at mothers she is trembling and looks so pale and I know it's either what's coming would be really bad for her or for every one of us. Standing like this I know It won't help me,I have to try something at least to stay alive if it's possible.

"Everyone go to the box wear your mask quickly" mothers said.

Everyone rushes over to take their mask, I wear mine and help Yna wear hers properly.

"You'll hurdle together" yes mothers

"Yna I have an idea" I said looking at her.

"Say it we really don't have a choice right now" she replies

"This bunker it's huge so let's go to the far back and hide there alright? At least we might have a higher chance of survival if thing's go bad,what do you think?" I asked

"Let's go for it" tightening our fingers,because the noise just outside us is frightening. We make a run for it,got to the end of the bunker and hurdled behind a wall there and just waited for hell to be let loose. All of a sudden there is a deafening silence and the loudest explosion so far happened and I knew they had gained access, the screams were terrifying to say the least and my ears were ringing. I'm so scared of what is to come.
