17 |What you were? A Criminal of Course|

With a swift exit on Liliana's part, Ren was left to deal with the distressed Jian Greed. His headache subsided and the two were left to have a silent staring match for the majority of an hour.

"Who are you?" A monotone voice broke the silence. Jian had spoken first, simply because he was the one who lacked the answers. Even if he wanted to continue the stalemate, it would not benefit and he would only remain ignorant.

"I'm a Cardinal belonging to the sea god church. You may refer to me as Cardinal Ren or Commander Ren"

Her response was short and enough to explain her title. Sadly for Jian, he could only understand that he was within the hands of the sea god church. This made him uncomfortable, but that was only for a moment. "What is a sea god church? Or even a Cardinal? Who am I? Why am I here?"

"You ask too many questions... And I am not obligated to answer them all. Another will give you all the answers you want at a later date. I can tell you why you are here at least. It's simple and not too long of an explanation." She gave a long pause before continuing. "It's because you are a criminal."

After such a suspenseful pause, she dropped a very heavy load onto Jian. He was appalled, a criminal? How could he have been a lowlife? That's not right!

"That... No way. How? I don't entirely believe-" His words were cut short by a faint whisper echoing from the depths of his mind.

A shiver ran down his spine, as the room temperature dropped drastically. Frost developed on the walls and floors. The pool Jian was currently standing in collected layers of ice at an exponentially fast rate. Even while all of this took place, he didn't appear to notice it as his Neon Yellow eyes were quickly turned black. His unclothed body was soon enshrouded by a grey fog and hiding his figure from Ren's vision.

She was perplexed, what was happening? With no real knowledge on how to handle beings like the rebirthed Jian. Watching was all that could be done. It was st this time Liliana made her appearance with a stupefied expression.

"Elder sister... When did you become proficient in ice energy?" Lily asked as she walked up to Ren's side. Both of them had long since erected transparent barrier of elemental force. Liliana' held a faint red glow, while Ren's was black, the former countered the freezing perfectly and the later seemed to just repel it with force.

"Lily... I did not do this and you know it. It seems this is the next phase her holiness mentioned. His Majesty will configure the subject to fit the realm. What do we do now? Did you receive orders?"

"We head back to the Northern Borders, Kane will take over on the next stages. Our work is done. Oh! He'll be sent to Chastities Humor as well. I'm pretty sure he shouldn't be a complete trash next time we see him. Right? What do you think Ren?" Lily told Ren as they both turned and made their way out of the room.

They no longer considered the giant blob of grey fog covering Jian as important. After a few minutes, they both were long gone from the area.
