96 Chapter 92 - No Rest

In the world of the flesh, the group watched the silent scene with baited breath. The bodies of Takumi, Misao and Urusla were frozen solid as their spirits took a short away trip.

"Come on.... you can do it..."

Mutters like this came from the mouths of every member. After a few minutes of waiting, along with overwhelming fluctuations of energy in the Dragon Realm, the result of the spiritual battle was seen.

Takumi and Misao twitched, right before regaining all senses of movement in their body. They quickly released their hold on Urusla, causing her empty shell of a body to fall with a thud.

"Hehe. We did it!" Takumi broke the ice, causing a cheer to go up.

With raised voices and praises, the group ran over to the heroic duo. Pats on the back, hugs, words of sincere gratitude and even some kisses on the cheek to BOTH Takumi and Misao, happiness filled the air.

"Let's return to the village! We'll have a celebration before taking back out kingdom!" Lancelot shouted as he put a hand over Takumi's shoulder, punching the air.

Shi, the mystery female who was easily accepted due to her helping hand, had other plans. She stopped the group, pointing to Urusla's body. Everyone bore confused expressions that were soon quelled when Shi stomped down on Urusla's head, reducing it to mush.

She expressed that she wanted to ensure she was dead.

It was then that Misao stepped in. With a single swing of her scythe, like a veteran fisherman, a black heart came from Urusla's chest, leaving a mutilated breast in the process. The heart still radiated energy but Misao paid no attention to it, as her scythe pumped to organ with flames, reducing it to ashes.

"Now we're sure she's dead. Come on, Mom...I'll show you around the place!"

Shock. That was what the group felt from Misao's statement, but after a promise to an explanation when they returned, the group turned to leave with smiles.

"My Queen..." The guard fairy whispered, "Are you not going to inform them of your vision?"

Fairy Queen Shiva raised her hand calmly, monitoring Reiki in front of her, realizing that she was still in the dark about this. She then said to the guard that she would rather wait until things had gone back to normal, and since she didn't decipher when the event would occur, inciting worry at this time wasn't necessary.

But fate had a harsh slap in the face in store for Shiva. As the group walked, the evening sky darkened out of seemingly no where. However, not much attention was paid to this.

But... when a large purple crack appeared in the air before them, all guards went back up.

"Not even a day after... no peace at all..." Takumi was distraught, this meant no celebration.

They waited patiently as the spacial rift widened, becoming an opening sufficient for the unknown entity to emerge. Soon after, from the rift came a floating child, white and black hair that covered his eyes, black robes and a sinister smile.

Shiva almost coughed up her heart as she laid eyes on this being. It was the entity from her vision!

She decided now was the time to tell the group of her vision, "We're in danger! I had a vision about this... it's why I'm here. This being plans to destroy this world! We have to stop him!"

While the rest of the group was shocked to the core, Shi and Misao easily understood the threat. They quickly jumped from their position, ready to defeat this being before he had the chance to activate any world-ending attack he had.

"Huhuhu." the being simply laughed, before an updraft of wind flickered his hair exposing a pair of ominous eyes.

As soon as Shi and Misao locked gazes with that pair of black and white eyes, they crashed to the ground. Rolling a bit before stopping in front of the being.

"EAAAAAAGHHH!" The group watched in horror as the mother-daughter duo writhed on the ground, screaming as if they being put through the most devious of tortures.

Completely ignoring them, the being stopped floating. Even upon simply walking, this entity showed his power. The grass beneath his right foot withered into dust, while the patches beneath his left flourished.

"Now now, Fairy Queen." the being said, "I'm truly proud that you managed to forsee my arrival, this proves that you are functioning just as I intended. It's almost a shame that I have to destroy this realm."

Takumi was about to open his mouth when the being interrupted him.

"Ah, that is a wonderful question, Takumi. What am I? Well, I am what is known as a Diety, the most powerful existences in the cosmos. You may refer to me as Gaia, seeing that your kind in unable to pronounce my true name... much less look upon my true form."

Gaia took a glance at Ichika, who looked to have something on her mind, which was easily read.

"My purpose here? It's rather simple... you all have served the purpose I created you for: my entertainment. As such, I see no need to keep you hanging around anymore, I'll destroy this world and maybe start over.... create another series."

Aiko was crying. "But why?!! Why destroy us?! Can't you let us live without even bothering you?!"

At that comment, Gaia laughed, his smile then stretched backwards and twisted; adding more fear into the hearts of the group.

"Haaaa... What do you do when you've gotten tired of a toy? You either dispose of it or destroy it... and since I can't throw this world into some trash can, I'll simply destroy it. Although... I could say the true reason.... is simply because I can."

With those words, the final piece of Shiva's vision came to pass. Gaia held up a single finger, which produced a palm-sized ball of shadow.

"Now stand still. This will be less painful if you don't fight."

With guaranteed doom quickly approaching them and all of Endolis, the group felt despair. There was nothing they could do to stop the coming catastrophe.
