40 Chapter. 39: Scolding

Having been called by Erin, Ai interrupts her research to meet up with the mother and daughter duo arrive at the entrance of the mansion. Having already picked up Ran from her Kendo class beforehand, Erin drives her car right up. Spotting Ai dressed in her elementary school uniform already waiting, Ran asks. ''Where us Sonoko?''

Not really wanting to talk about Miss Crazy, Ai just gestures a 'How should I know'. Getting a bad feeling, Ran asks Emanuel who is taking the trash out and coming out of the mansion. ''Do you know where Sonoko has gone to?''

Seeing all three Lady's look at him expectantly, the cook says. ''She left!..''

''God genius. The question is where did she go to?'' Comments Ai sarcastically.

Ignoring the little Lady comment he says. ''... I didn't ask. She had this 'speak to me and I kill you' vibe going on.''

''Ran we don't have the time searching for Sonoko. Let's do one thing at a time. First lets help in the search and rescue in the 'Black Building'. Conan and Sato are our first priority!'' States Erin, deciding for everyone what to do. With Ai sitting in the back seat, they swiftly drive downtown.

As they arrive right in front of the black building, Erin instantly walks up to Kiyonaga Matsumoto greeting and distracting him. ''Smells like explosives! Good day chief Matsumoto. Care to tell me what is going on!''

Seeing Erin dressed professionally with her Queenly routine going the police chief can't keep himself from talking to her. ''Yes, well we had an explosion in the conversation center and now this. I never thought that our country could be a target for terrorism...''

While Erin is distracting the chief Ran and Ai tries to sneak around the police restricted zone and into the building. Just, when they are about to walk into the lobby of the building, Captain Juzo Megure appears out of nowhere. Ran, just like Erin before drags the policemen into a conversation, giving Ai the opportunity to sneak into the building.

Moving undetected through the lobby that is now filled with equipment and people, Ai remembers that every facility of the organization has two entrances and exits, one for the grunts and one for the elites.

Guessing that the one for the grunts was discovered, Ai doesn't follow the stream of people and instead goes in the opposite direction. Finding herself drawn to a small storeroom in the corner of a long corridor on one side of the lobby. Opening the door and going into it, the first thing that Ai finds are cleaning utensils. Disappointed she is already about to leave as she spots a button build inside a shelf full of floor cleaners, thanks to her small height.

''Bingo!'' She comments, pushing the button. Instantly the wall opposite the door slides into the floor, revealing a pair of elevator doors. Just before the wall fully sinks into the floor a grinding noise of metal breaking can be heard. Jumping over the ledge, Ai sees the display show the elevator being stuck in between two floors.

''Think Ai, think!'' Finding a metal tube in the corner of the storage room, Ai undresses before transforming into her mature self. Metal tube in hand, Ai forces the elevator doors open, only to find the shafts sealing caved in and rubble stopping the elevator midway up.

''Shit!'' She curses while transforming herself back. Dressing, Ai once again looks down to the elevator. On the elevator, there is just enough room for a child to find a footing, but a seven-year-old is definitely unable to remove the rubble. Rubbing her right hand's wrist in an unconscious attempt to calm herself.

Then suddenly without any warning realization hits her and a possible solution for her current problem, as well as her contraception predicament, hits her. Wide-eyed she looks at her wrist while feeling for the growth gap. Excitement hits her, as the instantly feels it in her wrist. Using the gab as a measurement to regulate her growth, Ai triggers her ability. Feeling the gap slowly close, Ai cancels her ability midway. Checking her body, she finds her clothes to be too tight fitting. Guessing her current age, Ai would pinpoint it around twelve. Thinking about it, she concludes, that a twelve-year-old might be able to move the rubble directly above the elevators emergency exit. Jumping down, metal tube once again in hand to be used as a crowbar, she instantly begins to remove the rubble.

Thinking that the police already had more than enough evidence to investigate, he had sneakily taken out of Satos suit jacked, as he traded it with one of Erins business cards when they made love.

Ever since getting freed from the elevator, where she had cheated on Takagi, Sato knew that she had to break up with him. Now sitting in a cheap nudle restaurant near the two crime scenes, she is confronted by Takagi's gentle and heartwarming face.

''Yes, I do. I said that if you wanted to break think off, you just had to tell me and we would ends thinks guilt free.'' Interrupts Takagi Sato, showing off his boyish charm.

Involuntary Sato instantly compares Takagi's boyish charm with the masculine and dominant one of Farussi. Remembering the man's wicked ways with her, she can't keep herself from getting wet once again.

After getting scolded by his lovers and at the same time Sato breaks up with Takagi, Conan goes dejected into Erins office to check the stock market. Seeing Conan go upstairs, Ai contemplates her options for a moment before asking Ran and Erin. ''How do I seduce Conan?''
