7 Chapter 6: It's a trap!

Being driven by Agasa to the docks, Conan carrying his back containing the rifles is let out of the old Beatle near the entrance.

''Here take this?'' Says Agasa handing Conan and Ran a badge each before Conan can leave.

''What is it?'' Asks Ran looking curious at the small round badge.

''It's for you to communicate with each other from a distance, much like a set of walkie-talkies.'' Explains Agasa, showing the two how to communicate with each other.

Knowing that Coman is finally able to leave the car while Agasa drives Ran closer to the place where Akemi is supposed to meet with Gin and Vodka. Knowing how Akemi is killed in the manga Conan directly seeks out the crane overlooking the hole shipyard. While climbing up he can see Ran meet up with Akemi.

Reaching the top of the crane Conan assembles the M40A2 and mounts the Scoop on top. Resting the gun that is now longer than he is tall onto the backpack while checking out the two magazines.

Both magazines look exactly the same, except for the bullets. The tranquilizer ones have sky-blue warheads while the regular ones are silver. Not planning on letting any one of them alive Conan loads the regular one. Pulling the bolt back, loading the first bullet into the ignition chamber, he looks through the scoop by lying down.

Activating the pseudo-walkie-talkie while simultaneously peering through the scoop he feels like being down there with Ran and Akemi. Walking down a narrow path in between containers when Conan suddenly hears a voice behind Akemi.

''I appreciate your efforts Hirota Masami...'' Akemi surprised turns around and Conan is able to make out a single person walk out of a shadow. Wearing a long black trenchcoat and long silver hair the man says. ''... or is it Miyano Akemi?''

''Stop that Gin... May I ask you one thing?..'' Akemi asks, seeing the silver-haired man nod all so slightly she continues to asks, taking out a pill bottle. ''... You gave me this sleeping pills to put the giant to sleep... The moment he drank it, he started coughing out blood and couldn't move... Care to explain that?''

''Hehehe... these are our ways...'' Says Gin. Seeing the man smile Conan gets a bad feeling, thinking. -Where is Vodka? Come out from where ever you are...-

''So let's see the money then...'' Says Gin showing of an evil grin.

Crossing her arms Akemi says. ''It isn't here I left it somewhere...'' -Year you left it in the hotel.- Thinks Conan listening in to the conversation via Rans badge. Ran, by the way, is now hidden just behind the corner behind Akemi, her gun loaded with tranquilizer bullets and ready to spring into action.

''... you made a promise. You would let my sister and me out of the organization when the job was over...'' Reminds Akemi Gin, while Conan is anxious looking out for Vodka.''... If you bring her here I tell you where the money is...''

''Hehehe... That's not possible...'' Reveals Gin, smiling menacingly at Akemi. ''... She is one of the top brains in the organization... she even came up with two new pills...''

''What? We had a deal!'' Screams Akemi, unable to comprehend the looming danger she is in now.

Being aware of how this scenario would play out Conan tells Ran. ''Ran be ready to give Akemi a cover.'' Seeing his girl nod through the scope he is a bit relieved, but the bad feeling doesn't go away. -Where is Vodka!-

''Unlike you, she is an indispensable member...'' Explains Gin, drawing a gun on the defenseless woman. ''... the two new pills not only ... This is your last chance... tell me where the money is...''

''You are the naive one... if you kill me, you will never know where the money is...'' Tells Akemi Gin, revealing a smug smile.

''You are the naive one... your guess is slightly off the mark... I told you once didn't I, this was your last chance...'' Says Gin, about to pull the trigger.

A single gunshot rings out all over the shipyard, waking up the night. Not even a second later after the trigger being pulled the bullet hits its target, burying itself deep into warm flesh. Slightly of the mark but still able to hit the mark the bullet hits Gins right shoulder. Being hit the agent nearly lets his gun fall to the ground.

Reloading his gun, Conan who just fired his first shot with modern firearms, not only feels the aftereffects of firing a gun in his shoulder but also sees Ran jump into action. Firing in Gins general direction she is able to gove Akemi enough cover to get herself into safety behind the container next to Rans.

Seeing the two woman fright the agent Coma trying to reload but is unable to do so. Unable to reload properly because of his shoulder still hurting a cartridge gets jammed inside the gun. Desperately working on the rifle, Conan is unable to sentence the impending danger behind himself.

Unknown to Conan the man he had been searching for had been lying in waiting for him to make his move. Vodka, while Conan is hitting his gun to get the cartridge free, has already stealthily climbed up the steel construction and on to the platform.

Surprised to find a boy and not an adult sniping at his partner, Vodka takes out a handkerchief and a bottle containing chloroform. Seeing Ran change her magazines, Conan commands her to hand her gun over to Akemi who he expects to be a better shot. -Ran I don't want you to another person's murder on your hands.-

Before Conan is able to get the jammed cartridge out of the gun Conan is suddenly taken by surprise, as strong male arms clamp down on him, pressing a piece of fabric over his nose and mouth. Being forced to breathe Conan inhales deeply resulting in his mind getting blurry.

Struggling in the men embraces Conan slammed his feet into the man's crouch, getting himself free. Falling onto the platform Conan uses the unusable gun as a bat and goes for the man's head. Mustering together all his strength remaining in his body he is able to take Vodka down.

The moment the rifle slammed down and the man goes down the until now jammed cartridge gets free.

His attacker down and the rifle usable once again, Conan is able to finish the reloading and once again aims down at Gin. Seeing the agent get dangerously close to killing Ran, he feels no mercy and zeros in on him. Seeing the man spring from cover to cover to get close to the two woman Conan goes for the chest.

Pulling the trigger and feeling the recoil in his bones, the bullet that was supposed to hit Gins heart only grazes him. Freezing mid-movement Akemi uses the chance to hit Gin. Emptying the remaining magazine into the agent's chest the man finally goes down after taking three more steps.

Seeing Gin finally go down Conan finally relaxes a bit since climbing up this tower of steel. Knowing Vodka unconscious, Gin dead and Akemi alive he is sure to have given the organization a good blow early in the game.

Lowering his rifle, he hears Ran say via a button. ''Yes, we did it! How is it going up there in the crane?''

''I have an unwanted guest, but he is unconscious now...'' Says Conan, waving his gun at the two women. Seeing the woman frantically wave their hands Conan misinterprets their actions, thinking that just to be happy.

How wrong he was... For a second time, strong male arms clamp down on him pressing fabric over his nose and mouth. This time unable to fight back, Conan loses his consciousness.
