32 Chapter 31: Yakumaru

At the same time as Conan is making big plans to destroy the local drug operation and destroy a company's reputation, Sato is unable to be satisfied by her lover. Ever since having returned from the Kudo Mention when arresting Kogoro Mouri, Sato had not even one orgasm, despite Takagi's best efforts.

Unfulfilled and unsatisfied the next morning Sato gets out of bed. Looking back into it, she sees Takagi still sound asleep. Seeing his sleeping form she starts to feel bad for her her dreams. Instead of her lover staring in her dress as the male lead, it always is this Italian stallion.

After washing up and dressing for the day ahead, Sato acknowledges her fetish for being sexually dominated might have gone into her head since she started suppressing it ever since her days at the police academy. Arriving at the police station Sato finds her college, superior Ninzaburo Shiratori already awaits her at her desk.

''Better late, than not at all...'' Shiratori mocks her half leaning, half sitting on her desk. ''... Isn't it so,... Sato?''

''I guess so!'' She says, trying to ignore the creep on her desk.

Smirking Shiratori states. ''Thought so...'' Handing her a thin folder she says. ''... Here. Seems like someone is taking your panic making seriously...''

Looking at the folder, Sato reads - Investigation Ishimura Pharmaceutics, Subject: Illegal drug production-. Double checking, Sato is taken aback by what she reads on the cover.

Seeing his little subordinates shocked face Shiratori once again smirks. ''... You and Takagi will meet the narcotics officer Yakumura in half an hour. If Takagi isn't here by then and I am scolded by Megure or Matsumoto, I will have him suspended for a month!''

''He will be here by then.'' Declares Sato annoyed by her lover even more but already dialing his number on her cellphone.

After verbally kicking Takagi's ass out of bed, she focuses on the file Shiratori handed her. Only a few lines of the report in, Saro is already very impressed by what Officer Yakumura already discovered.

Exactly half an hour later Takagi comes rushing into the office, just in time for the meeting. Still, out of breath, he asks her. ''Am I already too late? I can't get suspended again!''

Spotting a man, dressed like a college student whit shorts, Hawaii shirt and flipflops, she says absent-mindedly. ''You are just in time. Officer Yakumura should be arriving any minute now... always those punks!''

Keeping an eye on the college student, Sato is taken aback as the guy saunters with a bright smile on his face in her direction. Cursing her luck for getting spotted by the man, she scans him up and down before mentally dismissing him.

Guys with tattoos and piercings are not really her thing despite having thought about getting her nipples and clit pierced herself. Trying to break eye contact the college guy suddenly greats her and Takagi by saying. ''Sato? Takagi?''

Surprised Takagi turns around, while Sato turns around ignoring the guy.

''I am Takagi. How may I help you?'' She hears her lover/college annoyingly friendly greet the guy.

''Right back at you guys. I am Yakumura and how may I help you? '' The undercover officer asks the totally unprepared duo. Turning around Sato suspiciously asks. ''If you are officer Yakumura care to tell me the name of the company you are investigating?''

Smiling the man says while looking at her desk. ''Ishimura Pharmaceutics.''

Following his, gaze Sato finds the closed case file reading -Investigation Ishimura Pharmaceutics-. Gnawing her teeth Sato says. ''Nice observation skill. Now tell me the name of the drug that Ishimura is supposedly distributing?''

Once again smiling the man says. ''Which one?... The street name is 'Angel Wing',... the chemical name is APTX 3609.''

Still suspicious Sato asks. ''What is the...''

''Miwako I think that's enough. Yakumura just show her your ID!'' Shiratori says suddenly joining them.

''We were just exchanging some information about our case.'' Defends Takagi Sato against his colleague.

While Shiratori and Takagi are exchanging their verbal blows, Yakumura shows Sato his ID, asking, while looking at Takagi. ''Your boyfriend?''

Nodding a bit embarrassed by her lover's verbal outbursts. ''Currently yes, but I am still rethinking that decision...''

''Though so...'' Comments the undercover narcotics officer, before asking. ''... Any questions regarding the case?''

Looking at her boss and lover still fight for dominance, Sato nods saying. ''Definitely!''

Going through the case file one by one with the person that wrote it, Sato realizes how much is actually not written in the file. Despite the final report being inconclusive, she is a bit disturbed by the fact that any and all follow up investigations were denied by the deputy attorney's office.

While Sato is going through the police file, Sonoko awakens feeling reborn in an unfamiliar place. Feeling her body heavy and her muscles ache, especially her lower once, she slowly opens her eyes to find herself alone. Looking around, the entire space looks and feels sell than a bedroom and more like a traditional dojo.

Checking out the comfortable ground she had slept on, Sonoko is amazed by how hard but at the same time soft it is. Thinking that Ran would instantly fall in love with a dojo like this. The door right in front of her suddenly open, revealing Ran comfortably dressed in thigh casual closing.

''Ah! I see you are already awake.'' Ran states, carrying a tray with breakfast on it into the room. Sonoko instantly feels her hungry belly grumble when smelling the divine smell of food.

''What happened?...'' Asks the starved girl, already taking huge bites out of an apple.

Seeing her friends serious face Sonoko asks her. ''... What?''

Still contemplating what to tell her friend Ran plays it safe by simply asking. ''You don't remember yesterday?''

''No...'' Says Sonoko not really sure what she should be remembering. ''... ahm I mean... Yes, I don't remember! Did I party too much?''

''No. You had a breakdown...'' States Ran, trying to figure out what her friend still remembers. ''... You said something about your family being in some trouble.''

''Oh, about that...'' Sonoko says trying to remember some details about her family's situation. Somehow she feels some details missing but other crystal clear.

Puzzling together what she remembers, she finally says. ''... Oh, yes now I remember. My dad is having some issues with 'Ishimura Pharmaceutics'. Some of their investors and some of ours are the same. Some year back they tried to force my father from his position as CEO. Dad was able to keep his job but had to make some concessions... The concession that now years later came biting us in the ass...''

''Ishimura Pharmaceutics...'' Says Ran, remembering Conan having bought shares of the company recently. ''... Interesting...''

Not hearing her friends comment, Sonoko is still focused on her retelling. ''... Father had to dilute everybody's shares to get new investors on board. From what I can remember the situation is now under control.''

Finding her friends genuine smile return, Ran is unable to tell her friend about the truth.

-Letting Sonoko not remember might just be the right path. I can still tell her in the future when she is ready to face her deamons.- Ran thinks, deciding for her friend.
