23 Chapter 22: 'Sherry', 'Ai' or ' Shiho' ?
Happy to be finally home, Ran, Erin and Conan act like a group of horny rabbits. The morning sun rises and they are already kissing, groping and touching each other, as they enter the Kudo Manor. Half an hour later and many rounds of questioning later, Erin, Ran and Conan is sitting on a sofa in the library facing Sherry who sits all alone in an equally comfortable armchair. Surprised by Ais sharp mind nobody says a word and only Conan shows her a sly smile before nodding in confirmation.
''... But that is impossible!'' Screams Ai, totally not wanting to believe that the boy in front of her had already taken two pills of the APTX series and not lost his mind to the pain.
''How is that impossible? From what you just told us you escaped the facility by also taking two of those drugs?'' Asks Erin looking very distrusting and suspicious.
''Me taking to at once and him taking two with time in between are two very different cases...'' Tries Ai to explain when suddenly the doorbell rings.
''Don't go. I will go looking who it is.'' Says Ran, already standing up and going to the door greeting whoever it is.
Caught between Ai and Erins staring contest Conan can only shake his head while listening to Ran greeting Agasa.
''Ah, you guys are back...'' Says the Professor while moving in. The two women stator contest only comes to an end when Agasa a paper bag in hand enters the library closely followed by Ran.
Seeing the three of them sitting in utter silence Agasa says. ''Why so gloomy? I bring buns for breakfast!''
While having eaten breakfast the gloomy atmosphere is finally gone, but a static atmosphere replaces it the moment the topic of Ran and Erin moving incomes up.
''How can you be so heartless?...'' Shouts Agasa at Erin, his voice full of anger, his finger pointing accusingly at her. ''... How could you want to send such a cute little bunny out into the street?''
''Cute little bunny?...'' Shouts Erin back at him. ''... This woman is more along the lines of a venomous snake, dressing like one!''
''Stop, stop, please stop shouting. Don't you see Ai is already frightened by the two of you.'' Says Tan hugging the cute looking and acting frightened Ai.
Looking through her act Conan says. ''Your mother might be right Ran. There are too many holes in her story. What we know for a fact is, that Ai/ Shiho or whatever she wants to call herself now...'' He pauses for dramatic effect, not really sure if the plot from the manga is still relevant or not and who or what to believe. ''... has worked for the organization that not only drugged me on two occasions but also kidnapped and drugged your mother to have her breed like cattle. How can we let her stay with us just like that? Without any proof that we can trust her?''
''If you need proof, I might have a possible solution...'' Says Ai/Shiho all of a sudden.
