5 Behind closed doors

Your POV:

I went to my room and started packing things I needed like clothes,charger,toothbrush and other stuff along with my journal.

When I finished packing up the things I needed,I saw the broken picture frame on the ground.I unscrewed the frame and kept the photo.

'For old times sake'I thought to myself.

I got out of the room and went towards Leo,who was sitting on a chair he found in the living room.

"Ok...I'm ready."I said.He didnt seem to notice me as his eyes were pinned on a piece of paper in his hands.It was like he was..shocked or even,sad.

I approached him and sat next to him.He turned to look at me and looked like he wanted to ask something but he was very hesitant if he should ask or not.His irises started trembling slightly.

The paper he was holding in his hands was the last picture me and my family took together.It was the day my older sister graduated from college.

My dad in his costume,my mom was wearing a very nice shirt with a black skirt.

My sister was wearing her graduation outfit holding her certificate of becoming a doctor.

I was wearing my favourite black t shirt and ripped jeans.

I was holding my sisters hand upwards as if she just won a wrestling match or something with my joyful smile,proud about my sister.

Ever since that day,I didn't think my parents were happy with each other,that's when the fights started till...well.

It was exactly a month before my mom left with my sister.

"You told us your sister was studying abroad.But in this picture she is wearing college graduation clothes."he paused for a few seconds before he asked."She graduated college didnt she?".I froze.

I lowered my head in shame."Yes.She did."I said not looking at him.I cant believe I lied to him like that.And for what?Because I have trust issues.Ugh I'm the worst friend ever!

Leo stood up from the chair and started coming my way.At this point I thought he was going to be infuriated with me for lying.

But he wasnt angry.Not in the slightest.He hugged me."Why did you lie to us,Y/n?"he asked me.I was startled for a moment I didnt know what to answer to him,but it felt it was the time to tell him the truth.

"Because...I...I didnt want to open up just yet."I said.

Leo POV:

"...I didnt want to open up just yet."

'About what?'I thought to myself.

I placed my hand under her chin and slowly lifted her head so she would look at me."About what?"

She looked at me.The sadness,the sorrow and guilt in her eyes were betraying that it was a bigger deal than I thought.

"My mom took my sister and left us."

That's the only thing she said before she looked down again.My eyes widened in shock and sadness.

How could her mother do such a thing?

"My mom was cheating on my dad with a rich business man and she decided one day to go with him"she said,it hurt me so much hearing it.

"After that,my dad started drinking...a lot.He became more violent and sometimes even shout at me.He was so heartbroken he needed to take it out on someone.And apparently that someone was...m-me."she said her voice cracking.

I cupped her face and looked at her e/c eyes.I couldn't hear her voice anymore.She sounded so...so heartbroken.So hurt.

"Its ok.You dont have to say anything else."I said.She smiled a bit."Thanks"she said."No problem.I think its time to go" I told her.She nodded and we started walking to the lair.The walk to the lair was mostly quiet and kind of awkward at first...but then...

"I'm sorry I lied to you Leo"she said hugging herself anxiously.I looked at her.She wasn't looking at me.She was looking down the entire time.

"Its not your fault.I would've done the same thing"I said trying to comfort her as I placed my hand on her shoulder.She sighed.

We reached the lair entrance,but before we got in,I glanced behind me.She was just standing there,insure if she should come.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?"she asked me.

I walked towards her."Its ok.Ill talk to them"I told her.She smiled as we entered the lair.

Your POV:

When Leo and me entered the lair we immediately saw Mikey sitting on the couch watching TV.

I immediately started having second thoughts seeing the familiar area.Mikey turned and when he noticed me his eyes lit up with joy.He ran towards us and hugged me.

"Y/n!You're here"He said in a very enthusiastic tone.I smiled at him.Thats when Mikey noticed my suitcase.

"Why are you holding a suitcase?"he asked confused.

I didnt know what to say to him,but luckily I didnt have to.

"She's staying with us for a couple of days."Leo said.Now Mikeys excitement increased like extremely.

"That's awesome dude!!!"

He said as Leo took me to the room I would sleep from now on.

"It was our fathers room,but you can stay in here till we figure things out"he said while giving me my suitcase.

I was so relieved and happy to have someone like Leo by my side.I couldnt describe how grateful I was.

I turned to him and smiled."Thank you so much."I said as I hugged him

"Pf.Dont mention it"he said hhugging me back.Then I looked in his eyes,I started blushing again.

"Ok..um...I'll let you get prepared then"Leo said walking out of the room.

Narrators POV:

After he left the room you started unpacking.There wasn't much in the room except one stand filled with lit candles and a wooden picture.

You walked up to the stand and looked at the photo.In the photo there was a man.He looked like he was in his mid 40s in this photo beside him,there was a woman holding a baby.The woman was slightly smiling and even though the man had a serious look on his face,you could tell he was happy.

'What a beautiful family'you thought as a faint smile appeared on your face.

Little did you know about the past and the pain the photo was hiding but it would take you a little more time before you learn the truth.

You tried to remember the good times with your own family,but your only good memory was when your sister graduated college.

You remembered the endless nights you would stay up to hhelp your sister memorize the theories and practice techniques on you.

You learnt a few things from her yourself.Thats how you knew how to hhelp your dad after a bbig hangover or an injury.

"I miss you Jane.."you whispered while a tear went down your cheek and onto the wooden photo.

Donnie POV(first pov that's not y/n or leo😊):

I was in my lab working on a new invention when I heard Mikey talking from the living room.

"How long will she stay with us?"

"For a few days Mike."

After a few minutes I stood up from my desk and walked outside of the lab.

When I got out I saw Leo and Mikey sitting on the couch.Mikey was the first one to notice me.

"Oh hey D.Guess what?Y/n is staying here for a few days"he told me excited.

I was surprised but at the same time worried.Did anything happen to her that she had to get out of her home?What will Raph say about this?The last time she was here,he ended up interrogating her like she was the enemy.

*Flashback*(Still Donnies P.O.V):

When Y/n left the kitchen with Leo beside her,I looked at Raph.He looked at me with a confused expression like the interrogation a few seconds ago never happened.

"What?"he asked kind of annoyed.

I kept looking at him.

"What was that all about?"I asked him.

"What are you talking about?"Raph asked clearly annoyed.

"Are you seriously going to act like the interrogation a few minutes ago never even happened?"I asked getting kind of mad.

"You shouldn't have asked all those questions Raph.It wasnt the time for such personal questions."Leo said entering the kitchen again.

"I'm just doing whatever you dont Leo.We dont even know if we should actually trust her,and you brought her into our SECRET lair.She could be working with the Shredder for all we know."

"Why is everyone an enemy to you?You know nothing about her."Leo said defensively.

"That's exactly what I'm talking about.We know nothing about her."Raph said.Leo was getting so pissed.He didnt want to argue with Raph at the moment.He never did actually.

"No Raph.You know nothing about her,cause you didnt even want to know her.Ive known her for almost half a year.Do you listen to me?HALF.A DAMN. YEAR!!!You dont even know how much she's been through."Leo said getting angry.

"How did you even meet her anyway?"Raph shouted.Leo paused for a second before he answered.

"The purple dragons almost assaulted her sexually.She was injured trying to defend herself and if I hadn't been there,she would probably been strangled to death!Is that enough for you?"he shouted not wanting to say anything else.

The room was quiet for a couple of minutes when Y/n came back.

We looked at her as she took her bag.

"I think it's time for me to go back home."she said as she started walking off the kitchen,but before she left she looked at us with a faint smile.

"Thanks for the dinner.It was amazing."she said her voice very faint.

"Let me get you home."Leo said walking her out of the kitchen.

After they left,Raph left the room as well pissed while slumming his bedroom door closed.Me and Mikey looked at each other and I sighed.

*End of flashback*

"D?Are you ok?"Leo asked me with a raised eye ridge.

"Yeah,I'm ok"I said snapping out of my train of thoughts."You seemed pretty skeptic.Is something wrong?"

"No.Everythings ok"I said.Thats when I saw Y/n coming from the dojo.She looked at me.

"Hi Donnie."she said.She looked ok but something was off about her.

"Hi.How are you?"I asked."I'm doing ok."she said.

"Hey yo Y/n!Come sit with us.Donnie too"Mikey said looking at us.

"Sure"she said and went to join them.I joined them too and we all sat watching

"Krongard the Barbarian" Mikeys favourite show.

*After a few minutes*

Narrator POV:

Raph came to the living room.He didnt seem to pay much attention to them but when he saw you sitting next to Leo,his eyes widened in anger and fury.

He was trying to stay calm but his anger took the better of him.

"What is she doing here?"he asked growling.You turned your head only to see an angry Raphael glaring at you.

Leo stood up and went towards him.

"Raph,calm down man.She's not going to hurt you."he said while slightly putting his hands in the air motioning to him to calm down.

Raph turned his gaze to Leo when he said."I need to talk to you."as he grabbed Leo's wrist and took him towards the bedroom area.

You felt very uncomfortable sitting there with the other 2 brothers staring back at you.

You didnt look at them but you could feel their eyes on you.After a few seconds of awkward silence Donnie came to your side and hugged you trying to comfort you.

"Dont worry about Raph.He'll come around soon or later".You nodded still looking at the ground before yous stood up and started walking towards your room.

"If you need me I'll be in...Splinters room"you said silently as you entered the dojo.

You closed the door,finally bursting into tears sliding down on your knees.After a few seconds you found the strength to go and lay on your bed.

While you were laying in your bed,there was a brother fight in the opposite rooms.The fight was between Leo and Raph.

You couldnt bare Raphs yelling.It was echoing through the entire lair.The things he said about you...what he thought of you...you were a traitor to him.

Even though you resisted for a year,you finally couldnt take it anymore.

"I'm sorry.."you whispered,tears rolling down your tired eyes,as you began.

Leo POV:

"Why is she here?"Raph asked.I sighed annoyed putting my palm on my face.

"She will stay with us for a few days.She was attacked by thugs.Her house got trashed.She cant live there till things calm down."I said explaining to him.Raphs eyes widened so much they looked like they were going to pop out of the sockets in a matter of seconds as if he was a cartoon character.

"You're kidding me right?You're protecting her?She is tricking you.Just like Karai."Raph screamed in my face.

"Dont talk about her like that Raph.How many times must I tell you that she is not the enemy?"I said kind of tired of this whole conversation and Raphs disbelief in her.

"She is messing with your mind dude.How can you trust her?Its only a matter of time before she backstabs you."he screamed even louder.At this point I gave up.

"Alright Raph.Believe what you want.But she is still staying with us till we figure things out."I said heading towards the exit of his room.

I closed the door exhaling relieved that the fight was stopped,but still not over.

'This is going to be a long night.'I said to myself as I walked towards the living room.

The moment I stepped I saw that Y/n wasnt there.Only Donnie and Mikey were sitting on the couch,trying to watch TV.

"The fight's over?"Mikey asked.

I sighed"Yes,for now at least.Where is Y/n?"I asked.Donnie and Mikey looked at each other before Donnie spoke.

"She's in her room"he said.

"Thank you"I said as I started walking towards the dojo.I went towards her room and knocked.

"Y/n?"I asked."Can I come in?"

No answer.The only thing I could hear were some whispers from inside the room.

'I'm sorry.'

'I tried.'

'Forgive me'

'Please'

I started getting worried and I opened the door.The room was dark but when I turned the light on,I gasped.
