6 Chapter 6

Jake POV-

It's been 12hrs 44mins and 16secconds since I last saw her...not that I was counting or anything. Me and Mike are sitting in my gaming room, playing Call Of Duty whilst waiting for Ben to come over. He was beating me, and gloating about it might I add.

With a long sigh, we slumped back into the chairs and sucked down some orange juice. By the time our mouths had left the straws, we were both breathless. Gaming was tiring.

I hung back my head and blew out air while rubbing my eyes.

Mike wheeled around in his chair before clearing his throat and turning to look at me with a smug look on his face, "so, who is she?".

His sudden speech took a moment for me to process as I frowned and pretended to have no clue what he was talking about, "what do you mean?"

I knew exactly what he was talking about.

For the past few days my mind had been elsewhere, I hadn't been able to focus at all. The only thing I was aware of was Ashley. I don't know why she had that effect on me. She was on my mind, day and night, just lingering there.

A low chuckle escaped his throat as he shook his head back and forth before meeting my gaze again.

"Don't play dumb with me man, who's the girl you keep day dreaming about, so much you let it distract you from winning one of these games" he paused and brought his chair closer to mine "look, in all the years I've known you, you have never lost a game, like ever, so what's with the broken heart look on your face?"

I wish I could tell him but I know exactly what he would say. 'Man up Jake, all that for a girl you barely know'.

"Nothing I'm...perfectly normal, just a little tired I-didn't get much sleep last night that's all okay."

How could I tell him about everything that happened between me and Ashley. He would think I was mad.

"Dude stop lying, I've known you my entire life okay. I know when somethings up, so what is up?" He set down his controller put one leg over the other and looked me dead in the eye.

I wish I could tell him, I really did, but it was pointless, he would give me the exact reaction I was avoiding. I couldn't deal with that right now.

I had a sudden urge to see Ashley. Her hair flowing in the wind, her chocolate brown orbs gazing into mine. It was so weird. We barely knew each other, yet I felt as through she understood me better than anyone....

Like I said, it was weird.

I had made my decision.

"I'll be back in a bit. Just remembered something important I needed to do." I mumbled and strode over to the door.

"But Ben will be here soon." He game me a puzzled look.

I shrugged, grabbed my car keys, and walked out the house.

Dom's POV-

I was on my way. MEEKS blasted through the G-wagon's speakers, as I nodded my head according to the beat.

Don't ask me how I got her address, I got a lot of people who owe me.

But here I was, driving to her house.

'I wonder what her reaction will be, seeing me at her doorstep.'

Most girls would take the opportunity to twirl their hair and act all flirty.

Normally I would take that as an invitation, but I know she will give me a slightly different reaction.

A chuckle rose from somewhere inside me. That's why she bemused me so much. She never gave me what I want.

It was kind of irritating at first, but that only made me want her more.

The road was smoother now. Tall trees dripping with golden leaves stood proudly on either side of the road welcoming me.

I turned the volume down as a row of beautiful houses came into view.

They were lined on the perimeters of a dead end street.

Each house had one tree or more, it's leaf covered branches shielding one side of the house.

'Ah, number 13.... so much for good luck'

I brought the car to a halt right outside.

The soothing roar of the engine abruptly came to a stop as the warm keys dangled from my fingers.

My long intake of breath could be heard very clearly in the quiet car.

Very very clearly.

Another thing about this place, the sound of silence boomed in your ears.

Why was I nervous.

No. I'm the bad boy. I don't get nervous.

The sneaky little voice in the back of my head responded with sweaty palms as if saying 'ha, there you go, a bucket full of nervousness'.

'Okay, it's now or ever' I thought as I clenched the keys in my grip stronger and got out the car.

The cool wind whipped my face and cut through my hair.

Okay. This is it. '....god, what is she going to say.'

I took long strides to the grassy porch before pressing the doorbell.

A few moments later, it opened.

But nothing in the world could have prepared me for what I saw on the other side.
