"Momo! You are so mean!" Mu Qingqing crossed her arms and pouted.

Lilian Mo flicked her nose. "Little girl, don't give me attitude. I am only saying the truth."

She then glanced at Mizuki Rei.

"I can't believe you allowed your own fiancée to fight. What kind of man are you?" Lilian Mo turned and boarded the car. Mu Qingqing followed her obediently like a puppy.

Meanwhile, Mizuki Rei was flabbergasted by their shamelessness. Lilian Mo told Mu Qingqing not to be a deadweight but she's hounding him for letting the girl fight?

Mizuki Rei shook his head. He would never understand girls. They were a different kind of species from this world.

When they all got in the car, Mu Qingqing asked Lilian Mo if she found any supplies.

"Yes. I placed them in the back." She lied. Lilian Mo had already placed some supplies inside her car's trunk before the apocalypse so that they wouldn't question her where she got all her items.

Even though they were her current team right now, she would not reveal the existence of her space. That was simply asking for trouble.

It was better if they remain ignorant about it.

'Sorry, Qingqing. This is the only time I will ever lie to you..'

They drove quietly to the mall. Lilian Mo said a few pointers to them while on the road.

"For mutant animals, it's the same as plants. They have kernels. As long as you destroy that, they'll die. If you see anyone that was infected or bitten, be wary when you see purple veins emerging from their skin. It means they failed to gain an ability and became mutants."

The two were surprised when they heard this.

"We could gain abilities?" Mizuki Rei asked.

Lilian Mo nodded. "Later, you'll gain a wind ability. It's not as strong as fire but as long as you train diligently with it, you'll grow stronger. The more you use it, the more skilled you are at it."

Mu Qingqing leaned in. "Momo, do I get an ability, too?"

"I don't know..." Lilian Mo responded. She really did not know. Mu Qingqing died before she could reveal anything to her, whether she had an ability or not.

Lilian Mo felt sick while remembering her friend's appearance in their past life. She could imagine all the torture that the girl felt for her to have a hopeless look in her eyes. She was pretty malnourished too.

Lilian Mo gritted her teeth.

"Qingqing, don't ever trust other men, okay? Don't ever help them. You only have to live for yourself. Do you understand me?" Lilian Mo said to Mu Qingqing.

Her eyes were so scary that the couple flinched upon hearing her loud voice.

Mizuki Rei clenched his fists. "Don't worry, Momo. I'll definitely protect Qingqing. I will gain an ability and not let her get hurt."

Lilian Mo tch'ed at his brazen way of calling her 'Momo' when they were not even close.

"If Qingqing get hurts, I'll castrate you."

Mizuki Rei unconsciously cupped his lower region protectively. This girl was so vicious! How could she say such cruel things?

'Qingqing, how on earth did you became friends with this scary girl?'

"Momo, it'll be fine! I'll also get an ability! I can feel it!" The girl said excitedly. "Oh right.. Momo, do you have an ability?"

Lilian Mo extended her hand outside the window. A blaze of fire erupted from her hands, shocking them.

"F...Fire! Oh my god! Momo is so cool!" Mu Qingqing hugged Lilian Mo's other arm that was driving the wheel.

"Qingqing." Lilian Mo shook the girl off when they nearly swerved. She sighed and raised a brow at her.

"Ah...Momo, sorry. Don't be mad!"

Lilian Mo turned her attention back on the road. They stopped at the entrance of the biggest mall in City A.

It was very quiet which sounded odd though she really was not expecting there to be people in the mall at three am in the morning.

Lilian Mo got out and observed the floors. There were many footprints heading inside.

She entered while the couple followed behind her, holding their weapons.

Feng Ran was shaking with fright. She was on late night duty when people suddenly fell around her and a bright blue meteor fell on Earth, at the Pacific Ocean.

Red rain poured heavily until the fallen started to rise, turning into vicious monsters with red eyes and claws, their skin a dark green like seaweed.

It wasn't just humans that fell and became monsters. There were also plants that came to life and started attacking people, eating them and tearing through their flesh.

She was so horrified that she ran away, joined a crowd of people, and huddled inside a boutique.

There were around twenty of them and they closed the doors, fearing for their lives.

None of them said a word. There was a silent understanding not to make any noise, in fear that the mutants from outside would hear them.

"Ah!" Feng Ran gasped when she saw a silhouette in the glass. The people all glared at her but noticed where she was pointing.

They all paled and turned deadly quiet.

"Momo, I think there are people over there."

"Ignore them. We are going to need firearms and weapons."

"Qingqing, this scary girl is really too much."

"What, you want to help them? You can leave. Qingqing goes with me."

"...I didn't say I would help them! Don't jump to conclusions."

Mu Qingqing stared at the window and saw the people all huddled inside the boutique. Lilian Mo grabbed her arm and pulled her away.

"Ignore them. Don't make me repeat myself."

Mu Qingqing nodded apprehensively.

"Momo, do you think we can go grab more supplies? We still have a lot of space in your car."

"Okay. The supermarket is this way."

Feng Ran who saw the three youths talking about food instantly felt hungry herself. And when one was hungry, it also became contagious. The other people also felt their stomachs rumbling.

The last woman was very young and innocent-looking. She looked like the typical dodder flower from a movie, a pretty young schoolgirl from a rich family.

Feng Ran's nervousness went away after seeing her.
