BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I quickly turned off the alarm and checked my clock.

It was about 7am, waking up early was something early for me.

Getting ready, I went to make breakfast. It was a simple egg and bacon, it tasted good yet it seemed so dull.

After I ate, I changed into going out clothes.

I decided to go for a jog, despite the white colors in the sky, the wind that blew past my face felt good.

If only I was able to see colors, if only I was able to get rid of this sickness.

About 15 minutes into jogging, the white sun was rising, they say it's red yet why can't I see it?

I shrugged off the unnecessary thoughts and focused on my jogging, I had to stay fit after all.

After 2 hours of jogging, I had made it back home.

I was sweating like crazy so I decided to take a cold shower.

The cold water hit my back and it felt refreshing, what color was the water?

Clear? Blue? White?

I was just about to take a nap when the doctors called me.

"Hello?"

"Athena, it's time for your checkup, I hope you didn't forget."

"Of course not, I'm on my way."

"Alright, take care."

Just like that, the call ended.

To be honest, I really did forget.

I just got too tired from the walk, though that wasn't normal.

Making my way towards the hospital, I couldn't help but look at the people walking around with smiles and cars roaming the streets.

A car, it does sound nice. Maybe I should buy one.

Soon enough, I arrived at the hospital.

"I'm here for my checkup." I said to the desk manager.

"Your name?" asked the desk manager.

"Athena."

"Go down the hall and it's room 423."

I did as the manager told and entered the room.

"Hello." I said.

"Athena, just take a seat." said the doctor.

I took a seat and waited for the questions.

It was a regular check up, the doctor asked about my health and if there was any difficulties.

"Has anything been different lately?" asked the doctor.

Now that I think about it, things seemed to be quite different.

"I seem to be getting tired more easily." I replied.

"*Sigh* The illness is starting to take effect, it slowly eats at your cells and the eating would slowly increase. Soon, I'm afraid you won't be able to live much longer. But don't worry, we're trying our best to find a cure." said the doctor.

"Thank you." I replied.

There was nothing I could say, I was expecting death instead of expecting another day to live.

Making my way out of the hospital, I decided to go back home and take a rest.

The words 'I'm afraid you won't be able to live much longer' lingered in my head.

Closing my eyes, I drifted to sleep.

Waking up, it was about 6pm. The perfect time to buy groceries.

I made my way to the marketplace and recalled what I needed to buy.

Sauces, vegetables, and meat.

Putting the ingredients I bought in a bag, I decided to walk out.

The rain was sprinkling down as the white clouds started to appear in the sky.

Thankfully I brought my umbrella, before I was about to walk away.

I spotted a girl standing in the rain, why isn't she standing in shelter?

Without realizing, I had already walked over and held the umbrella over us.

She turned my way and gave me a questioning look.

"I'm Athena, if you stayed in the rain any longer, you'll catch a cold." I said.

"I'm Pallas, thank you for this." said Pallas with a smile.

"How long did you intend to stay in the rain?" I asked.

"Probably until it passed." said Pallas.

"If you don't mind, why not spend the night at my place. The rain isn't going to end anytime soon." I said.

"Are you sure?" asked Pallas.

"Yeah, I have enough space anyways." I said.

Inviting over a girl I just met, what was I thinking?

If she was an assassin that was sent after me, I could only hope it would be a painless death.

We walked side by side and Pallas seemed to had a cheerful atmosphere around her even in the rain.

Did she like the rain?

I almost slipped but caught myself, my shoulder brushed against Pallas's and she got red a little.

"Sorry about that, I didn't see the small puddle." I said.

"It's fine, I'm glad you didn't get hurt." said Pallas.

When she said that, a tiny spot of pink appeared in my eyes.

Was I seeing colors? Nope, it must be my imagination. After all, the only color I could see was white.

It's been an hour after we got home and we were currently deciding where should we sleep.

"Let's sleep together, it's warmer since the weather is a bit cold." I said.

She couldn't argue and obeyed.

Under the covers, I could feet Pallas was shivering.

'She must be cold.' I thought.

Turning over, I decided to hug her and put her head under my chin.

The warmth was nice and we soon drifted to sleep.

Unknown to her that Pallas had steam coming out of her head.
