The Walk-in *Lucy*

The day was normal after the race. Sam and I had spent almost the entire day in my room. But for some reason, couldn't stop thinking about my brother being sorry. All our lives he's always valued his friends and family, but since when has he been sorry? After Sam left, I began to remember what we were forced to do almost our entire teenage years.

~Memories from age 11~

I was sitting outside of my mother's hospital room with Lukas. I was crying my eyes out and our father wasn't even at the hospital. I walked into her room and saw the heart monitor was flat lined. That was the last look I had ever gotten of my mother. Once our father found us, he never even shed a tear. He forced Luke and I into becoming models and the next faces of the family. All of the revealing clothing I had to wear came back to me. Luke always looked like a business man or a pop idol and I always looked slutty. He always knew how to hide the sorrow, but I couldn't. At parties, I'd stay in one area and hide from anyone and everyone. My father had replaced my old glasses with contacts, before he got rid of all my books and drawings. I would sob daily, thinking of how we were treated. One morning, I woke up late. I remembered that he had something planned for the day, and because I woke up late, he was pissed.

"You useless child! " my father said as he struck my face, leaving a bright red mark.

"What did I even do? " I asked as my eyes welled up with tears.

I forgot a lot of memories from that day. I'm happy that I did.

~1:30 A.M.~

"EVAN! " Brock slammed open my door, but I noticed something off about him.

"What the hell!? " I said as I accidentally fell off my chair.

I finally noticed what was off about him. He wasn't wearing his glasses and... he wasn't wearing a shirt. I blushed as he stood over me.

"Are you okay? " he asked with a look of concern.

"Are you?! "

"What do you mean? " he said as he helped me up.

"You almost broke down my door and called me Evan. " I said as I fixed my glasses.

"Your light is on past midnight. "

"I was lost in thought. It's not my fault I think about things a lot. And if you don't mind, I'd like some peace and quiet. " I said as I pushed Brock out of my room and closed the door.
