Best friends

I met my roommate at orientation, and it was by fate that we were chosen to be roommates. They always took me everywhere with her and always helped me make friends. My college days were never boring to say the least and I was barely in my room. Now to some people this probably sounds like the best college life but you're wrong.

For me it was hell.

I am an introvert and if that doesn't already explain much then let me explain more in detail for you.

If I were interacting with a person my roommate introduced me to, it went three ways. Either I just became very nervous and could barely hold a conversation with them. Or I would interact with them but after a while I would get so tired and sleep for hours. Or I would just ignore them because I didn't know them.

I love my room. I don't want to be anywhere other than classes and my room and that might sound boring to some but that is my fun time. My roommate would drag me out of my room against my will and force me to interact with other.

Sometimes I couldn't get my homework done because they would constantly bug me with hanging out with them or playing games with them. I was becoming such a pushover because I didn't want us to fight when we live together and thought that it was because of me. I should go outside my comfort zone and do these things with them. Or stop being a whining child and play with your roommate. These were all the things I was thinking to myself.

One time at lunch, they got mad at me because I was on my phone and didn't talk to their friends. My roomie said that they wish that when they were busy, I would have people to talk to but if I keep this up, I'll be alone. But what if I liked being alone. People can backstab you and keeping conversation can take a lot out of a person. So sorry if I just want to chill by myself.

But at that time, I just agreed with her and tried my best to talk to her friends but that is when our friendship started to take a turn.
