Prologue

"Quickly, call the head maid!"

The sentence echoed through the large hallways, with servants storming across, bringing towels and bowls full of water with them. The extravagant but sparsely decorated mansion fills with laboured screams. Several hours pass yet the screams continue.

As the sun dives down behind the horizon, the hallways fall silent, the once panicking maids and manservants now find themselves resting around various places in the estate.

In one particular room, dimly lit by several candles, there is a small cott with a small baby girl, gently being soothed by a young maid.

The beautifully crafted patterns on the walls were finished with golden trims and the chandelier added detail to the otherwise plain ceiling.

(Where the heck am I?)

The baby thought to herself.

(I shouldn't be here, this is strange.)

Filled with emotion, the baby cried, despite being in the comforting arms of the young maid.

(This can't be happening!)

Meanwhile, in the master bedroom, a man kneels by the bedside grasping his wife's hand. The lady mutters to him, he catches her words.

The strained breathing becomes weaker and quieter. Eventually, it stops altogether.

Outside, the air freezes and clouds build overhead- snow begins to fall.
