Chapter 29: Zhang Wei's nemesis

The men returned to the General's Mansion. They reported what they had seen at the Brothel House to Yutao. Upon grasping the situation, Yutao made his decision, "Fine. We'll visit the Brothel House tomorrow in disguise and see the situation there. For now take rest". The General's men heeded to his words and went back to take rest. 

The bright sun at that place soon went back to sleep and the moon took the shift. The night sky was clear, chilly and litter with millions of stars shining brightly. Everyone in the Shanjin market had taken the day off and went back to their homes to take rest for the day. 

At the Famous Alchemist Zhang Wei's Residence...…...

Zhang Wei finished formulating another elixir, he then came out and went back to his room to take a short nap. He opened up a bit of his chest collar and lay down on his bed and fell asleep. 

Taking the chance, the Wicked woman slowly came out from her room and went to Zhang Wei's chamber. As she saw Zhang Wei, laying down on his bed, she slowly came nearer and nearer towards him with her steps getting quieter and quieter, making sure that he isn't woken up. When she stood infront of him, the Wicked Woman sniggered and carefully took out the hypnotising elixir to burn it to a smoke. As the smoke rose up in the air, she covered her nose and directed it towards Zhang Wei's head. She watched on with a wicked smile in Zhang Wei's face as she kept it there. 

The purple smoke of the hypnotising elixir went deep inside Zhang Wei's nose and begins to slowly hypnotise him, taking him to an alternate state.

The wicked woman upon knowing that the elixir has started to do its job, she stood near his bed and called out, "Zhang Wei…..Zhang Wei...open your eyes!"

The hypnotising elixir caused Zhang Wei to see things he wanted to see in the face of the wicked woman, it made him face his deep hidden self, it made him meet the one he's been longing to meet for a long time. As the sweet familiar voice was calling him, Zhang Wei's mind went berserk.

'Who is calling me??? Who???' Zhang Wei's mind went wild, a sudden thrill rushed inside his heart. Unknowingly, his heart went untamed by the called. He slowly opened up his almond-shaped eyes and in his dreamy state he saw a figure which looked like the woman he'd been longing to see. To confirm the face, Zhang Wei immediately got up from the bed and rushed towards the woman.

 He got stupefied by the image. It was the face of his secret lover, Xifeng who had died nine hundred years ago. She was wearing the beautiful red dress which Zhang Wei had kept hidden for a long time. It was a gift, meant to be given to her nine hundred years ago. Her face still looked as beautiful as she was last seen. She was still seductively charming, her hair was extravagantly decorated. Zhang Wei mesmerised and thrilled upon seeing her, he immediately hugs her tightly.

Excitedly he spoke, "Xifeng! It's you??!! You are alive?!"

The wicked woman put out an act with a teary eye and acted coy, "Zhang Wei! If only I knew how much you loved me back then, I wouldn't have met this terrible fate. I want to make up for my mistakes, I am coming to you!"

Zhang Wei's hypnotised mind felt at the top of the world by her words. His heart was racing. His almond-shaped eyes were being tempted by the enchanted beauty of Xifeng making him unable to think straight. It's as if his dreams finally had came to passed.

The Wicked Woman then grabbed Zhang Wei's hands and made him seated on the bed. She then sat beside him. Zhang Wei's deep longing unbearable heart made him want to kiss her deeply. He slowly came closer and closer towards her and just as he was about to touch her lips, the Wicked Woman held his lips with her small milky white hands and stopped him.

Zhang Wei took her hand and spoke, "What's wrong?"

The Wicked Woman acted pitifully and replied, "My soul is shattered into pieces, I am not able to revive anymore, the Xifeng you see me now is only a faint piece of the soul that is left. If you truly loved me, please give me your prowess. That way I'll be able to stay with you forever."

Zhang Wei became doubtful as he listened to her words. He immediately held Xifeng next to him by her neck and grabbed both of her hands with his hand, making her unable to move an inch, he then questioned her seriously, "You are not Xifeng! Who are you?! The Xifeng I know will never asked for my prowess. She had already reincarnated and returned to earth. Her soul was never damaged. She only lost her immortal self!"

The Wicked Woman replied him sarcastically, "Tch..! So, she came back. Then there's one more reason why I should take away your prowess Zhang Wei!"

As she said those words, she gave a sharp blow to Zhang Wei's abdomen with her elbow, made him retreat a bit and she escaped from his grip.

The sharp blow had broken Zhang Wei's hypnotised state. He held his head with both of his hands as the hypnotism broke off gradually and stared fiercely at the wicked woman and inquired her, 'Who are you? Why do you want my prowess??!!"

The Wicked Woman replied sarcastically, "Ahh! You never remember your nemesis, do you?!"

The Wicked Woman grabbed the sword which was on the side and immediately charged in ready to kill him. Zhang Wei grabbed the wooden stick beside him and swat her off swiftly. He carefully observed her every moves in details and defended her off as if he was playing with a wild cat. Reading the Wicked Woman's every move, Zhang Wei instantly realized, "Mingmei!!??? You are already dead! Whose body are you stealing this time?!!"

The Wicked woman retorted, "Tch! So, you finally realised?! I am not stealing anyone's body, Zhang Wei. This is my body from now on. I have been waiting for years to resurrect again into a new body. Now, that I am resurrected, I will finally get my revenge."

The Wicked Woman charged in with a fatal blow, determine to kill Zhang Wei this time. Zhang Wei immediately fended her off, and captured her with his prowess, Zhang Wei's magical barrier surrounded her and then he tried to take her soul off from the body ready to destroy it. Knowing that Zhang Wei was trying to destroy her soul, the wicked woman took out a hairpin from her hair and put it on her neck and threatened him, "Zhang Wei! Don't you dare do anything stupid or else I am going to destroy this body entirely. This way you won't be able to save her!"
