19 Chapter 19: Soul preserving elixir

While Xukai and Yutao's messenger was on their way to the physician house riding the horses as fast as they could, Xialin had already reached the Physician House.

She quickly gets off the horse and sneakily went inside the Physician House.

Arriving there, she noticed that the Physician House was left unguarded as all guards have gone out in search of her along with Yutao. The Physician too have gone to attend the other patient, the only helper that attends Xulan has also left in fetch of the medicine.

Taking the chance, Xialin sneakily moved inside the house and went to her brother. She quickly took out the small wooden bottle of the soul preserving elixir and slowly opened up the cap.

She carefully put the liquid elixir inside her brother's mouth and made him ingest the whole soul preserving elixir.

With it being done, she spoke up in firmness, "Ge, Please wait till I came back. Please stay alive"

Tears started to fall down from Xialin's eyes as she utters those words.

She rose up and hurriedly leaves the place. She soon sneakily came out of the Physician House.

While she was on her way back to the horse, a grey cat was passing by with its eyes glowing in the dark, as soon as the cat encountered with Xialin, the cat was immediately frightened and recklessly ran away from her.

Xialin soon climbed up the horse and drove it off towards the Dark forest aiming to head for the Fog Forest.

Her eyes once again changed its colour into a shiny blue colour and started to glow up as soon as she entered the Dark forest.

Her mind was preoccupied at the thought of entering the Fog Forest.

The Fog forest lies right after the big vast Dark forest area. The level of the Fog Forest was slightly higher than the Dark Forest. As one go darker and deeper into the Dark forest, the forest area became higher and higher too. Since the surface became higher and higher, the atmosphere of the forest became too foggy, thereby, causing the entire of the "Fog Forest" to cover with foggy clouds.

People rarely go inside the Fog Forest as it is dark, dull and foggy. Without a torch, it is impossible to walk into the Fog Forest with the naked eye besides that it is said that it takes a highly skilled person to enter the Fog Forest as the Forest is filled with mysterious creatures and poisonous plants. There has been no record of the Fog Forest till now. People who went inside the Fog Forest to investigate always ends up dying. They either have been found dead or gone missing.

As Xialin have taken off for the Fog Forest, the Old witch on the side, started to prepare for the death ritual inside the cave.

The place for performing the Death ritual was filled with the animal skulls. Inside the ritual place was a white young rabbit all tied up lying fearfully on the ground. It appeared to be the animal sacrifice for Xulan.

The old woman starts preparing the flame for the death ritual. Once the preparation is done, She started to recite a long weird phrase. After the recitation is completed, she cut the rabbit's throat and poured its blood onto the fire.

The rabbit screeched in suffering, after a short while it died, thereby concluding the death ritual.

Once the soul of the rabbit leaves, Xulan on the other side, began burning up in his entire body, the soul preserving elixir has taken effect.

It appeared that the soul preserving elixir have grasped Xulan's soul completely. While his soul struggled to escape from the body, an intense power of the soul preserving elixir have captured his soul forcibly.

After a short while, Xulan's soul calm down and the blood leakage of his heart remained stagnant. Soon, the blood stopped bleeding and the heart began to pump in normal. Xulan remained in a coma after that, he didn't regained his consciousness nor he died. It seems as if he was only waiting for his death time.

On the other side...

Yutao and his guards were unable to find Xialin.

After searching every high and low, they all became weary and tired. Seeing his guards in that dire state, Yutao finally decided to leave for the day, therefore, he gave orders to his guards, "Men, let's head back home and take rest. It's already late we will continue the search tomorrow"

Heeding to his words the guard replied, "Yes, Master Yutao"

and they all head back home.

While Yutao was on his way to the Physician House, he saw two men approaching the Physician House. Upon noticing it, Yutao stopped moving and stared at the figure.

The figure became clearer and clearer and soon realised that it was Xulan's younger brother Xukai and his messenger that he sent.

Xukai and the messenger immediately stopped the horses and came down from it.

Xukai then hurriedly moved toward Yutao and inquired him in panicked, "Yutao ge, How is the situation? Is my brother condition improving?? And my little sister, did you find her?"

Yutao replied with a big sigh on his face, "Xukai, I don't know what to say. We have searched over the whole area for Xialin but we weren't able to find her. There is not a single bit of trace of her. I don't know what to do. On top of that, your brother's condition is worsening. I am dead worried. It seems like my brain is wrecked up into pieces!".

Xukai reacted with a worried looked on his face, "I will immediately go and search for meimei!" Xukai hastily tried to leave the place.

Yutao instantly grabbed his hand and stopped him, "Xukai, don't go now. You won't be able to find her. I have already searched for her thoroughly and even broaden the area. I believe she will come back on her own once she is prepared".

Hearing Yutao's words, Xukai calmed his heart. He then inquired about his brother, "What about my brother? What did the Physician say?!"

Yutao sighed with deep remorse and replied heavy-heartedly, "The Physician said that the sword has gone right through his heart and the blood is leaking with every second that passed by. He said that your Da-ge will die of excessive blood flow and he can't do anything about it. That's why your meimei ran away from the house, unable to bear to see the consequences!"

As he attends to his words, Xukai remained stupefied. His mind went berserk by it. Unable to stand still, he reacted in anxiousness, "Let's go and meet him. Take me to my brother!"

Yutao respond to it, "This way!"

With it, they went inside the Physician House. Xukai rushed in to see his big brother. He immediately went to his bed.

There he saw Xulan's breathing normally as if he is just sleeping unconsciously.

The blood also stops flowing from his heart.

Xukai was left in shocked that he turned and inquired Yutao unbelievably, "Yutao ge, You said my brother condition is serious. But look! He looks like as if he is sleeping peacefully! And his bleeding heart has already stopped"

Alarmed by it, Yutao quickly rushed to Xulan's bed and checked his pulse. His pulse seemed to be back in normal. Stunned by it, he checked on his heart. There was no blood leakage anymore! Xulan just seemed like he is sleeping soundly.

Amazed by it, he immediately ordered his men, "Quick, call the Physician!"

Heeding to his command, the guard immediately left to fetch for the Physician. While they went out Xukai hold Xulan's hand and Yutao went pacing back and forth waiting for the Physician arrival.
