3 Cold Punch

I was flying around the planet listening to people, I was searching for people who need my help. I left the find of my brother to the Question, He had a bunch of leads and I was tasked with helping out the "Little people" to get my good name out more. That was when I heard Superman was battling a monster like Doomsday but a lot bigger. It's been a month and I haven't been selected as a member of the league yet.

I got more training done on my own and I feel stronger with every passing day, in fact, my meta powers are almost too strong for me. When my anger gets too much I tend to freeze things around me. Anyways I heard Superman needed help and I was in China and he was in Metropolis on the other side of the world. I radioed Batman, "I'll fly over to help, no use in letting him get thrown around, send me in boss." I said and Batman went to deni me but I heard Wonder Woman say over the comms, "Let him do it, Batman, He's gotten stronger and more skilled the last month, plus Superman will die if we don't do something."

Before he said yes or no I jetted in the direction to save Superman, The sonic boom that I made when I went could be heard up in the watchtower. (Boom!!!, Crack!!) I was going so fast I caught up with the flash and we raced to the scene. As I saw the monster had Superman by the throat I swooped in and punched the beast right in the face. The punch was enough to get Superman away from the monster. The monster stood up and looked at me and spit out a tooth, "You dare hurt me human?" it said to me and I smiled, "Superman are you alright?" I asked Supes and he shook his head yes. Flash grabbed him and I was right in the middle of my first supervillain fight, "Let's fight if you're feeling up to it monster?" I said to the monster and it laughed, I then cast a field of ice and froze the monster to the ground.

As it broke free I grabbed it and flew straight up and went into orbit, "I was kidding monster, you must be dealt with right now." The monster looked confused then I spun around and around then threw him into the sun. I waited till I made sure it was gone and then I flew down to the ground and met up with the league. They looked at me and saw the monster was not with me, Batman finally came to the scene and told them what I did. "He had no choice, he had the throw him into the sun, he would've kept fighting till the planet was gone," Batman said and Superman looked relieved and then he passed out.

Wonder Woman who was on the ground when I got back took me aside, "We or I want you to join us officially, but we have one rule as heroes of the League." I stopped her and said, "I will never kill anyone unless it's not avoidable, like with a monster like that. I don't comfortable doing what I had to do but the Earth and other planets would fall to that thing." I said and Wonder Woman shook her head, " Yes that was a good call for this time, but next time informs us about your decision." I held out my hand and she shook it, "I will fight to protect this world much like all, I will not disappoint you, boss." I said and everyone turned and I was given a pass to enter or re-enter the tower.

The next day after I helped clean up the mess I was told to get a clean suit and join the press announcements. It was going to be a big deal for the league and a lot of press was there to ask me and the league questions. I was on the stage and the founding members of the league were here and I looked like a knock-off Superman. Then I saw superman walk up to the stand and make the big announcements.

"Thank you all for coming to this press conference and induction of a new member of the league. We had been through a lot through the years with almost coming to an end many times. Well, we found this young hero and trained him to become a hero for the people. Please Welcome Cold Iron the man who defeated that monster last night." Superman then held out his hand to me and I was pushed to join him. "Thank You, Superman, it's true I was the one who got rid of the monster for good, I trained for moments like that I am happy that I could save the world from that. I know this is my first time at a press conference I hope you can forgive me." I bowed my head and a reporter asked me a question, " Who trained you, and what type of powers do you have?" I looked down at the woman and saw it was Louis lane, I looked back at Superman and he smiled.

"Well, I was trained in hand-to-hand combat by the Batman and I sparred with Superman for months. The powers I have it's a list I can fly at speeds similar to how fast the flash can run, I also have super strength, invulnerability, I can make and manipulate Iron with the added powers of ice. I can make the area get colder than the surface of pluto and do typical ice meta stuff. Like I said miss Lane I have a list of powers and I did notice the other week I'm getting stronger with every training session." I saw everyone was dumbfounded that I was this overpowered like that, then I heard something in the distance. It was a building falling somewhere and people were crying, Superman saw me react and so we took after it.

Wonder Woman took the stage and answered questions on my behalf, I was racing to find what the emergency was. When we found it, it was a house sliding off a cliff from a mudslide. I grabbed the house and Superman rescued all the people inside the house. We repeated the scenario twenty times, till the rest of the league came to help. The mountain the homes were built on was gone but the people were safe. A little girl came up to us and gave me a drawing, " This is for you Superman, thank you for saving all of us." I looked at Superman and he smiled, he came over and she did a double blink, "I'm actually the new league hero Cold, I know I look like supes there I take the at as a compliment little miss." I pulled out a little book, It had every leaguers autograph on it, I gave it to her and she looked at it. " Hold on to that, it was every hero's autograph on it." She hugged it and ran off showing her parents what I gave her.

They looked happy and thanked me for the gift, I hovered off the ground and I headed to the tower for the night. I didn't have a home anymore and I quit school, I wanted to find my brother and that was the only thing I had planned. When I got there I grabbed some food from the cafeteria and ate after that crazy day. Night Wing his Bat-family came by to say hi, Bat Girl, Robin, and Roy Harper. We talked for a couple of hours about what I might do next, then Night Wing gave me the news. "We found out your brother was given to a Gotham villain named Bane as a Henchman, most likely under mind control."

"At least he's ok for know that all I care about, I will bring him back when I can now all we have to do is find Bane." I said and Night Wing bowed his head a bit, "That's the hard part, Banes gone dark for a month, he might not turn up for a long time but when the time comes be ready." He told me and I shook his hand and the group left. Barb who is Bat Girl kissed me on the cheek and said, "We will find him Jake don't worry about it so much." I smiled and everyone began to whisper till I froze the air a bit.
