The air turned black around her. The first thought that crept into Angela's mind was"Granny might be affected with this reform"Although they were to different yet similar situations,the thought about the changes taking turns in the Quays empire affecting her drastically struck her so hard that she didn't realize she was clearly fidgeting till Marie pinched her.
"Ouch!!that hurts!"Angela moans in a whisper.
Mr sunny pauses,looks at thier direction,Marie instantly apologized in a gesture smiling nervously hinting at Angela who was so engrossed to do the same.
"Mrs Barker,"Mr sunny calls out.
Angela instantly froze,not sure if she really heard her name or maybe it was her imagination.
She jolts into reality when Marie pats her softly on the shoulder.seeing has everyone's attention has been drifted towards her.She manages to mutter a"yes s-i-r" putting a slow stress on every alphabet In the sir.
Mr sunny shakes his head in acknowledgement and walks out.He was clearly done with his meeting without proper dismissal.
"Such attitude" Marie snapped glancing at Angela who just sat there compressing her lips ,twitching her fingers awkwardly.She does this whenever she was nervous.
"You don't seem ok,Gela".
"No, I'm fine really. Everyone left already?"Angela asked sarcastically.
"Hmm, obviously,the whole office has left....well, except us"
They both stood up and left the room,walking down the fourth floor corridors to board the elevator that takes them to thier department. The first floor.
"Really I can't wait for this to happen"Marie came in an exciting tone.
"What to happen"Angela asked shrugging knowing it was to be one of Marie's tales.
"For the first time things are taking new turns in this office,I suddenly feel our days our days of boredom and tireless work are over"she sprung her hands in the air as she spoke, Marie's known as a gesture queen."It's time for drama to unfold and fill this office a atmosphere.A new MD and he's young,gosh!I also heard he's stunningly cute".she giggles
She paused at Angela's sigh. Angela looks at her nods her head with a half smile
"You just don't get it Gela,we get to stare at him during work hours and I might as well fall In love with him,I thinks already I'm in love"Marie added fixing her hair.
Angela burst out in laughter.Not at Marie but at his naive she could be.Marie saw it offensive making a displeasing face. Angela said nothing till the elevator stopped.this time in silence.
The Quays empire stays on the verge of bankruptcy. Incurring too many loses.It pained her so much that the institution had to merge up with another company to thrive.And now the displeasing of all.A new boss.Angela had no premonition of the company's future.But whatever it is will have a severe impact on her life.she thought while she worked.In between those thoughts also came the fact that she was being selfish,having won worker of the year prize twice in a row and working sedulously to take the prize of the present year,she felt if the new boss arrives he might.
No,he wouldn't do that,she very well deserved those prize.
But deep within,Angela felt a storm coming on while everyone smiled in gossips anticipating the arrival of the new boss of the Quays empire.******************
The cold night was melting away slowly.Angela sat before her granny.The room filled to the brim with silence.The only traceable sounds were echoes of cricket outside.Nurse Tina had left earlier the night than usual on the excuse of going for a function.All fine by Angela she was enjoying the peaceful view of her granny in bed.Her entire world revolved around her and there was nothing she wouldn't do for her.sacrificing sleep was in the least.
Angela already dozing off the before 11pm alarm rang sprung into awokeness.It was time to give granny her medications to avoid another fervent attack.Shs yawns softly and made for the draw to get the Medicines.on bringing out the white box she couldn't find the purple capsule as instructed grandma had to take the purple capsule at 11 and none other.streams of fear gushed her....Angela brings out her phone to speed dial the nurse but the number wasn't going through.the situation was tensed.Angela peered into her watch,the time was quarter past 11.pm she had to get the medicines.

"Darn it!"Roy cursed hitting his fist on the car chair.
"I'll go check quickly sir,it's minor"The driver remarks.
"So what happened,why did the car break down all of a sudden"Roy said already out of the car to join the driver.He stood akimbo thinking about "what a failure the day had been"while the driver checked,he paced impatiently.
"Sir,"Driver runs back"The tyres are fine,we ran out of diesel"
Roy's hand went up his head, pressing his head tightly in a provoked manner while the driver starred nervously.
"What?"Roy yells"quit starring and do something,why on earth would you bring an unserviced car to drive me all the way home in the first place,Are you guys so daft"
"So sorry sir ,Mr Quaynogomery sent this car especially for you"
"Right"Roy said in a less surprised tone"sorry,my goodness do something"he shouts
"Yes I'll ju--st"the driver paced in confusion "sir,look.... there's a shop across"he points
"A shop?"
"Yes it's a pharmacy sir,they might help".
The driver runs towards the supposed pharmacy while Roy stood behind with the car.
A cold breeze blew scattering his swoosh.He was feeling unexpectedly anxious,not because they were stranded in a lane road and not expecially because he hated his situation.it wa different too different he felt the night has something installed for him.
Which it did...💨💨💨
