1 Chapter 1: Resentment

Long long ago before the land was filled with Wondrous and Treacherous Beings the world is a hospitable place to survive and thrive for all as equals

Until the greatest calamity mankind could ever face happened all at once.

The plague has made the remaining people evolved into greater beings, they're now the founding deities of this wondrous and peaceful land

but if one evolves then all the other ones will follow, and that gave birth to abominations now called daemonic beasts

"Sister! Why are there many pictures of human looking creatures here?"

the nun sighed and smiled at the little boy

"These are the variants of the evolution that took place a thousands of years ago, the ones written on this books are the

Angels they're blessed by the light and mana

Demons blessed by the Demon king himself

Vampires Can manipulate your blood and darkness at their will

Beastkin Has animal-like appendages that aids

them and enhances their overall potential

The elves blessed by the moon and the forest

The Humans the original Dominant race

And the last one in the book is

The Ethereal, these are our Ancestors and they're now regarded as gods, the power they possess is Immeasurable

once a thousand years or as the prophecy foretold there will 6 Reincarnated ethereal"

The nun closed the book and tucked the little boy goodnight "do you have any more questions Leon?" The nun asked with a warmth in her tone "what are mana? Sister?" The nun answered "mana was given to us by the Creator of this realm... but i still cant believe that as a whole. Who knows maybe when you grow up you might just have an aptitude to be a Sorcerer" the nun pinched Leon's nose and headed out

[Morning came]

Knocks on Leon's Door

"LEON!!! WAKE UP!!! BREAKFAST!!!"

Leon Got startled and fell from the bed he's laying on

Thud!!!

"Ack!" He rubbed his head and Looked around Yawns he stood up and opened the door

"LEON!!!" The girl jumped at him "Ack!!!"

"BREAKFAST IS READY!!!" The girl pinning down Leon on the ground "Yeah yeah, i'll go get off of me Liya..." he said in a monotone voice. The girl then stood up and pouted "Stupid Leon" then kicked him on his side

He then was sent flying to the other side of the room "ack!" He hurriedly stood up and chased after Liya

But before he was able to chase after Liya, The nun caught him "Leon! It's almost noon! Come now To the mess hall we shall eat!" Whilst carrying Leon like a Cat

[at the mess hall]

Children chattering

"Everybody settle down! Our celebrant is here!!!"

"Sister Nancy!!! How many winters old is Leon?"

Sister then looked at me while still carrying me like a cat "would you like to answer that Leon?"

I sighed "i'm 13 winters old now" sister then put me down up front and clapped twice "Now then everybody for our Morning prayers let's wish Leon a Long and Wonderful life shall we?" She smiled and it felt like i want it to last forever

[after the celebration]

"Hey Leon!!!" I turned around i saw Liya Waving at me obliviously "what do you want?" She suddenly slapped me on the face "why are you so cold?!" Her face furious

I looked down and Contemplated a bit "I'm just like this" but before she left she gave me a small box "I just hope you're safe all the time Leon please keep this okay? I made it for you"

She smiled at me then walked away

I felt a little bit guilty for driving her away for no reason... we were used to be so close back then but it all suddenly changed when that happened 7 winters ago

It was a snow stormy night when my room grew darker and darker then a pair of Blue orbs floating in mid air floated towards me,

I was mortified i cant even utter a word or even move.

The last thing i remember was feeling that sharped slashing pain across my chest but when i woke up it was gone

But sister was there and she was horrified because the room was filled with ice and snow

I remembered sister warning me "Leon... this power is not meant to be find out by the others, this power holds more responsibility than you expect"

While i was recalling that scene i bumped into sister who's wiping dusts in the hallway "oh? Leon is something bothering you? You look pretty upset?"

I looked at her wanna cry "Why do i have to hide these powers with the others... now they're avoiding me because i was too cold at them..." she hugged me and gave me a peck on the cheek "Didn't you told me you wanted to become an adventurer? You can explore the vast World and be whatever you want?"

I looked at her "what does that have to do with them?" She patted me on the head "Let's just say they'll find out sooner or later, and you can talk to them as you wish again, i'm sorry for putting you through this Leon" she hugged me and then walked away

"What does she mean?"

I decided to go in the forest to Train my Magic secretly and i decided to forage some Materials for tonight's dinner

I grabbed my backpack then i saw Liya standing by the main door going out the orphanage "Liya?" She then sighed and walked towards me "You're so hopeless"

I tilted my head "Excuse me?" She hugged me "why didn't you tell me that you have magic?" She cried "i don't want you to be involved with my mess"

She then let go of me and dried her face "We've been apart for 7 years... before you go please Wear the Gift that i gave you this morning, i wont be bothering you if you don't want me to"

She walked away i opened the tiny box she gave me and it has a little ring made out of Copper in it with a note

I just wanted to say that me and Alec misses you and we cant get the courage to talk to you anymore since you've been pretty dismissive, but if you did want to talk to us again we're always gonna be waiting for you at the tree top inside the Garden's Dome...

Instead of Leaving i decided to follow Liya and when i caught up to her, i grabbed her by the shoulder "Liya, i'm sorry"

I heard sobbing then she turned around "Leon... meet me at the Garden Dome on top of the Great Oak tree" her eyes were teary but she has a serious tone on her voice

I still cant face Alec after the accident

I Grabbed a photo from my bedroom and ran towards the Garden dome near the forest

The moment i entered a Strong breeze has hit me smelling the scents of various kinds of vegetations residing in there but the one most alluring of them all is the Great Oak tree thar bears golden Colored fruits, and on top of the Giant tree is a small Hut

Whilst climbing the stairs the Tiny Vines providing light for the tree is changing in different colors while giving off strong negative emotions of resentment, and it's directly being pointed at me

It was nauseating but i managed to climb the stairs without forcing myself to leave or kill myself by jumping off

I opened the door and saw Alec laying on the bed still unconscious but he had a faint glow indicating that the tree is giving him life, Liya on the other hand is Reading Alec Stories we used to read when we were still younh

"Leon... it's not my place nor in my power to order you around, but please accept my request" i tilted my head "What is it?" I said she sighed and trying to hold her tears back "i want Both of you and Alec back"

I stared at her with emotionlessly "how do you think i'll do that?" She grabbed me by my clothe's Collar seething with rage "YOU DID THIS TO HIM!!! AND and now you're turning a blind eye?! YOU'RE SO DESPICABLE!"

I swiped her hand away from me and looked at Alec "I doubt that you'll forgive me even if i did found a way to cure Alec's Illness"

"You reap what you sow Leon..." she walked towards me and whispered at my ear "Everybody's Just pretending to like you back in the orphanage... even Sister Nancy" i began laughing "do you still think i don't know that? You've always been this pathetic... even your act this morning is so cliché, but sure i'll look for a cure... i'll do this for Alec and will not be influences by your bewitchment"

She had a smug face and began pushing me out "oh may the blessing of the Demons be bestow upon this pathetic idiot!!!"

[A/N: Being blessed by the demons is basically heresy for the humans to receive, and often used as an insult]

I continued walking down the stairs of resentful souls, i began praying for protection "Oh tree of the millennia please protect my soul from this Lamented place as i set out for my Journey"

The moment i entered the house i saw Sister Nancy Crying while all the other kids are with her "sister what is happening?" She looked at me with eyes as if she lost someone "this is a letter from the royal capital... they demand me to surrender you to the Algidia Familia one of the highest nobles and houses most powerful sorcerers" i saw my Things being carried by one of the older kids "you're getting rid of me?"

She looked at me with disbelief "how can you say that?" She slapped me "even if i did want you out of here i would've done it on my own! Not with the help of some Nobles!"

Before i could even speak time stood still as if someone froze it "that's enough talk Nancy" before i knew it a man with snowy white hair in a long black coat appeared behind me "we'll take care of this child Nancy be rest assured" Sister charged at him in an instant holding a dagger made out of Clear ice embedded with mana? But the man parried her with his barehands effortlessly "Algus... why are you here?!"

"You've grown stronger Nancy... but not strong enough" the man then picked up my belonging then carried me like a pet" he flicked his fingers then time started moving again "Algus..." her face was furious but softened up eventually " I-i didn't expected the main family would take him in..." The man sighed "You can leave this place and live with us again" sister then laughed "no no, i'll stay here with my children"

"Sure self proclaimed Nun" he had a smug look on his face, he walked outside, while carrying me he began chanting, out surroundings started lighting up in a faint blue light, the light grew brighter "uhh sir what is this?" He looked at me with a stern face "teleportation magic" i was shocked knowing someone using a highly valued magic "Warp" he mumbled, the surroundings suddenly changed from a thick forest to a Castle wall

"you there kid... we'll measure your magic if wether or not you're fit to Join the Main Algidia Family" i was curious on how they found me out so i asked him "How did you find me?" He rubbed his chin contemplating "we searched for the spike of mana few years back and we only get to Have the correct coordinates this week, and your affinity for Ice magic is Better than expected now that i'm seeing you personally"

We entered a church looking place, it has Stained glass representing a person i don't know whom, he Walked up the podium and Brought out a star shaped jewel "Place your hand over this thing" i walked up to it and did as he told me

"Now imagine pouring out your soul into it"

I closed my eyes and imagined my soul as a Form of a certain element, my body felt so hot and cold it was irritating, the moment i opened my eyes the Crystal was giving off a bright Rainbow light "I see you have an affinity for all the elements... now let's measure how deep is your mana pool" he gave me a tiny blue crystal Intricately carved to give off a Sense of regality in it, I poured my soul into it, the crystal Glowed As bright as the sun "Leon stop!" I panicked "H-how!?" The crystal Glowed brighter and brighter, "It's going to explode!" He took the crystal and Threw it  on the ceiling of the church as fast as he can

It Blew up warping and sucking the space around it

"So your magic is immeasurable. I'm impressed, and now I Algus Grey of the Head of the Algida Familia, give you the honor to be a part of our Family"

The moment he spoke those words my blonde hair Turned into a more Yellowish White color Like platinum and gold "You're now Known as Leon Albus Grey"

We got teleported to the Main hall of the Castle with the 4 members of the Family "Let me introduce to you all Leon the last and final member of our main Algidia Familia"

And i think Algus looks Good but all of his family looks good like they're Eternally youthful

The Pretty woman in a white Dress cries as she saw me "Leon... i can see your suffering" she ran away crying

The boy who looks to be the same age as me walked up to me "I dont like you that much, for making big sis cry that much I hate you!" He then followed her

The Girl who's a couple of years older than me patted me on the head "They're just like that, i hope we get along" then she glared at Algus,

And Walked away

Algus sighed "The women in a dress is Samantha Grey she's the 1st daughter and 2nd child of the family, The boy who's the same age as you is Cloud the Last child and son of the family and the girl who patted you has a Little brother complex her name's Yuri and again I'm Algus we welcome you to the Family"

My first impression of them was weird and unlike a noble but maybe i just need to understand them, i do hope we all can get along

And while i'm at it i'm gonna look for a way to cure Alec's Illness
