18 Chapter 17 Kira's friend?

"I do?" She looked at the smiling Sychi on her shoulders and asked the dean once again, "from who?"

"You'll see"

An elegant looking paper crane flew down to her hands. Kira looked at the dean, then carefully opened the letter. It read:

Dear Kira,

We would like to inform you that from this day on, you are no longer a student from Fantasia High. This notice of transfer hereby informs you as a new student of our school, Magic High, to attend as a part of the E-class from this day on ward.

Yours sincerely,

Amy

Dean (Headmistress)

Kira looked at the dean, then turned her head towards Sychi

"what is--why now?"

Sychi smiled at her "That would be great now, won't it?"

"though I believe being at Magic high would be harder than being here" The dean said, viewing papers in her desk "Their system of hierarchy there are strict"

"Oh, I bet Kira here would fit in just fine..."

"Sychi, what's going on here? You know her? Since when?" Kira asked her

"My darling dear, do you actually believe you been here by pure coincidence only? How naive you were..." Sychi flew again and landed softly in the pile of papers in the desk

Kira was struck by the sudden realization and was embarrassed. Sychi chuckled and began to explain herself

"Being a part of Enchancia, you should know well enough that you are a precious princess which we, your guardians should protect. But due to what happen four years ago, we had failed our duty. However, that certain incident had given us the solution in one of our issues at hand. The dark lords."

Kira felt her heart stopped for a second. She does not want to remember the darkness of her past. It was frightening, too much for a child of her age. She clutched the end of her skirt and bit her lips as Sychi continued

"This evil organization had been capturing children just for the sake of power. Such wickedness shall not be overlooked"

The dean suddenly considered the need to inform the child to none, thus she said, "I believe this matter shouldn't be mentioned to children, not even those of the higher ranks. They are still children after all--"

"And what? Let things happen again blindly without them knowing what hit them?"

She was instantly crushed by these words. Their undeniable, the children are the main target and them not knowing will increase the chance of being caught. But even so, what could the children possibly do if the elders themselves couldn't do anything?

"But due to certain circumstances, we the guardians and all the other palaces can't just jump in to their den carelessly, especially now at time of rise after the previous great fall. I knew you understand that. So instead, we let the Clover Guardians to deal with this on our behalf. Still, we failed to actually eliminate the organization and are currently lurking around, hunting their next prey." She sighed

"As for you, it would be far too suspicious to just take you back home since, we fairies caught to much attention, and a random white mage with a child entering the sacred territory, is not the best idea. It would also be careless to just let you find your way back home. So, we searched for a great opportunity to take you back, and it has come"

Sychi's glorious golden wings flapped softly as her little hand touched Kira on the cheeks. "Now my child, let us bring you back to where you belong, your home..." Their foreheads touched, and tears started to weld up in Kira's eyes

"Un..."

"Your leaving so soon..." Mika was sobbing, burring herself under the pillows

"Sorry Mika"

"It's okay...I bet you would be a lot happier there!!" She jumped up, encouraging herself not to be sad

Kira giggled and smiled brightly. Mika finally saw it, Kira's smile, a happy smile. She adored how beautiful it is, and smiled in return

"We'll always be friends, right?" she said.

Kira was surprised at what she said. Mika sat back down and held her hands.

"You might not know what that meant, but one day you will. And when you do...do not ever forget that I'll always be your friend...Kira"

A friend? Kira never had one before. She grew up with only her brother and was isolated from the outside world till she was five. And then there were the four years of suffering from the hands of a dark organization. The children she met there was all struggling to survive that they had no room for friendship. Thus, just as Mika said it, she does not know what that means. To her, its nothing more but a word, but it sounds more than that to Mika.

It was already afternoon. There was only the dean, her two daughters, Ao and Aud, and Mika who bid her farewell.

"Thank you for everything!" She waved her hand at them and left

The dean sighed in relief, "At long last, she's at good hands"

"Tell me mother, why are you treating her like she's someone special?" Aud asked, looking at where Kira left, still with resentment

"Cause' she is special" Ao answered

Aud suddenly looked at her "I'm not talking to you, and what do you mean by she's special? She's nothing more but a com--"

Before Aud could even finish, Ao broke through her words, "in case you don't know, she is neither a commoner nor a noble. She's Kishi's twin sister, thus, she's Kira of Enchancia, a Sacred Royal"

"What!? You can't be serious?!"

"I 'am--"

"Ao, I never remembered telling you this, do I?" The dean now looked at her

"Sorry mother, I kinda overheard..." She apologized quickly

"Wait! Are you saying its actually true!?" Aud looked for answers guilty of what shed done, hoping that she misunderstood

"Yes, it is actually the truth Audecy..." Mika joined their conversation, making Aud feel worse

"SHUT UP!! DON'T EVER CALL ME THAT!!"

Mika smirked at her a took her leave, saying only these words, "Well, whatever. Believe me or not, it's your choice"

Soon, Aud was left there alone. She doesn't want to believe what she just heard. She felt utterly guilty of what she had done in the past. The worst is that Kira never raised a hand on her, despite of Aud hurting her. She was a disgrace. Maybe she would change from being an arrogant fool, to decent lady, one day. We have yet to know the answer, as time goes by, maybe faith would bring them together.
