16 Chapter 15 Wishes

"It's not because of that. She's....very light...like feathers. She's also ice-cold--"

Mika was alarmed at what he said and quickly touched Kira's forehead. Just as Kishi said it, she was ice-cold.

By the time they came in Kira and Mika's room, Kishi laid Kira down in the bed. Mika started running in circles panicking.

"What to do? What to do? What to do..." She floundered, not knowing what to do

Kishi stared at her walking back and forth. He sighed, he looked at Kira who's breathing heavily, held her hand, then moved closer. Mika suddenly turned her head, and was surprised once again. Kishi kissed her yet again.

Kishi raised his head and looked at Mika whose mouth finally fell open.

"Y-you...t-that's the divine k-kiss"

"That'll stabilize her condition, though...my healing prowess aren't that good since I haven't reached Divine State"

Mika tried to get hold of her self then replied softly "I-it's f-fine..." She sat down on her bed and beamed at the twins "Wanna...stay here for the night?"

Kishi was taken aback by her offer "C-can I" his face turning pink

"Sure, why not?" She laid back and pulled over her blanket. Kishi just looked at Kira once again and a book appeared in his hand.

He sat beside Kira and leaned on the pillow. Still holding his dear sister's hand, he read the book with the other.

"Won't you be bothered? I don't sleep, remember?" He asked

"Don't worry, I'm used to it" she smiled at him once again "I thought you'll worry about staying with a girl during the night, but I suppose your quite used to it"

"don't forget I'm still a kid"

Mika chuckled "I know...I know...well, goodnight" Mika closed her eyes and fell asleep. Kishi looked at the moon through the window and caressed Kira's hand lightly...

On Wednesday, the boys were chattering in the cafeteria.

"So what about it? Have you thought of your wishes yet?" Rex asked them gleefully

"I want the truth" Airi answered bored, playing with his tea, puling the teabag up and down

"Secret" Lune said when Rex looked curiously at him

Kishi did not answer. Rex crushed his cake, and gave out a scary smile

"good for you then!" he lied

"You haven't decided yet, huh?"

"Shut your mouth Lune!!"

Airi looked at Kishi as he sliced his pancake and asked "What about--" but Rex interrupted him

"I WANT TO HAVE A SLUMBER PARTY WHEN WE GET BACK!!"

The mood suddenly changed from bored to worse. Airi just sighed "as I was saying...have you told her yet?"

Kishi only glanced at him, "I see...she's been a bit distant lately. What about you know...her loses?"

Kishi placed his elbow on the table and rested his chin on his hand, "I just want her to go home..."

Airi grinned at his answer, "I figured as much"

On the afternoon, the day after that, Kira was sitting on a tree branch in a tree near the lake. She gazed at it as autumn leaves fall and float as if dancing. She thought to herself about the upcoming Friday. She felt abandoned, but knew enough not to do so, her brother would not abandon her, never.

"stay away" she said

"So that's where you are" Kishi looked up and smiled at her

Kira looked at him with distaste, but Kishi still just smiled at her. She clenched her hand tightly, and in coincidence, their eyes met

Your mad at me? Kira didn't reply

You should win. I always win, and besides tomorrow's gonna be--

Go away! jerk

She turned her head. Kishi sighed and started walking,

"If that's what you want" Kira watched him disappear in the fog. She clenched her hand tightly, the branch shattered and she fell. She squeaked and closed her eyes.

"Ouch..." She opened her eyes quickly by the voice she just heard, and found herself over Kishi. She freaked out and moved away. Kishi sat up, then looked at her. She immediately ran away.

"She didn't even thank me...great, just great..." he said bitterly at himself

The awaited day came. Airi woke up, seeing that Kishi was already dressed. He quickly got to his feet and checked the clock

"CRAP!! Why didn't you wake me up?"

"I've been waking you for hours..." he watched Airi run around the room preparing

They left the room, and went straight to the stadium, with only a sandwich.

"So--"

"She got a tantrum" Kishi answered before Airi finished his sentence "Am' I....a jerk?" He asked stupidly

Airi burst out to laughter after hearing his question. Kishi turned red and walked away stomping like a child.

"Hey! Wait--" Airi wrapped his arms in his belly, still laughing loudly. It took at least three minutes before Airi got a grip of himself. He finally shown he soft side, huh? Well, it's only a matter of time, he thought.

The crowd was already roaring loudly when Airi arrived. The fight was happening fast as usual, but faster. It was just like watching a thunderstorm, dust flying like dark clouds and their movements like flashes of lightning. Everything ended with a CLANG!!

The boys peered over to see what happened. The dust cleared out and there they saw Kishi with a sword defending against Kira's. Every eye was flabbergasted, the teacher blew his whistle, and finally, Kira won.

Kira stood by the lake, crying. Kishi joined her afterwards, he clenched his fist and opened his mouth to speak

"Kira, I.....I want you to promise me....t-that you won't leave me"

Kira turned to him, covered her face, and walked to his embrace

"t-then you t-tell me t-this isn't g-goodbye" she sobbed

Kishi nodded and caressed her hair "Yeah....It won't be. Cause you're going home..."

The two of them stood there for quite some time. The felt like it was the end, Kishi was now going to leave, and Kira will be left alone once again.

The world was unfair after all, but Kishi was glad he can overturn the situation this time, and he is well determined to do so.
