25 Dragged Away

"This is a very enticing offer, but I'm afraid we'll have to postpone it,"Anoi shook her head again.

She was indeed interested in going to that mysterious place, but there's no way they can go there today.

"Why not?"

The female stared hard at him. And then finally, Shadd remembered about orange juice that Jackie had spilled on his pants before. (A/N: see Chapt. 17)

She then called the waitress to bring check, and while waiting said, "No need to remind you the importance of appearance in entertainment industry. Looking like that, you can't even walk out the door without getting looks from ordinary people, let alone try to scout others. And if you still insist, then won't you shatter your reputation in front of your colleagues, if you show up to that place?"

Shadd was dispirited, but nodded. Then they decided to go with him on some other day.

Now, to deal with his dirty pants, Jackie agreed on bringing him another pair, whilst he will wait in the café. Anoi could return home.

The waitress came and with a bright smile, announced:

"Your meals have been paid in advance by the gentleman that was with you before."

"How nice of him," Anoi snorted, while other rejoiced.

"Well," she thought after walking out of the cafe, "If he wants to spent money on them, what do I care? It's his anyway."

She didn't return home right away, she actually decided to go to that place that Shadd mentioned.

He didn't give an address, but there was no need to - because Anoi more or less guessed that the place he was talking about was a small park, on the eastern side of the city. It didn't really have a name and was just referred to as "East Park" for obvious reasons. But, amongst in-siders in industry it was referred to as "Baby Big Shot Park", BBS for short. The nickname appeared after an assistant manager of a successful idol group, uploaded a picture of the park on his social media, tagging it as "where my baby big shots used to play around". It was shared in a private group of assistant managers, so regular people didn't know about it. Soon after, the idols also find out. Sowly, the park transformed into BBS Park, though some affectionately called it "Baby Park".

In closed circles, it was pretty well known for being a place where talented people gather. That's because the park was surrounded by dance studio and singing schools. There was also a music academy not too far away.

The students would come there to take a rest. Sometimes, they'd practice there. And then those who haven't yet entered the "idol business" would also join the practice, or just sit and watch from afar.

If you wanted to recruit someone, BBS was a perfect place.

All of this was what Anoi knew from her past life.

But surprisingly, she never went to the park. Well, not to the center of action at least. Anoi tilted her head in disappointment and gazed at the park from her seat in the tram, that caught took to travel. She didn't have any real fun in her past life, did she?

Now, she wanted to check it out. And the reason why she was going there alone, was because having others by her side would prevent her from investigating. She wouldn't be able to observe who she wanted to observe, and talk to those who she wanted to talk, without being stared down by Shadd or Jackie.

It was also a tactic to avoid unnecessary questions.

Thus, she stepped out of the tram and headed to the park.

From the outside, it looked gloomy and cold. But, from the photos that Anoi saw in the past, she knew that inside there would be a sunny clearing.

The park was surrounded by a stone wall-like fence. This made it looked like a private territory, but it wasn't actually.

Anoi went around and entered the thick bushes. She found an opening among them and quickly squeezed through.

The downside of this park was that it had an inside entrance. Only those from academies had an easy access. But the academies were surrounded by a yet thicker fence and were also guarded.

This bushy entrance was used by those who wanted to sneak inside but weren't allowed to.

Anoi didn't want to go through the trouble of asking for a permission and decided to go through this "entrance."

Who would have thought that as soon as she reaches the lawn where several young guys and girls were resting, she'd be caught by a powerful hand from behind and dragged to the other side.
