1 Big Mix Up

Thirty years after society collapsed from an alien invasion, a rebel group that called themselves, "The Free" rose up. The Free was made nine years after the invasion because they were sick of the way the aliens were treating them, making them slaves and puppets for their own doing. In response, The Free was made to liberate all the imprisoned humans, and defeat the aliens by salvaging their old tech that was abandoned and destroyed during the United Nations Defense Project, or the "U.N.D.P." The U.N.D.P. Was made specifically to defend the world from the alien attack, and was formed by all the nations' leaders. Although they lost, The Free took refuge in old underground bunkers, and health centers left behind after the war.

A matrix converter that allows ships to fly assists in delivery for packages and resources is taken to one of their trade routes. The courier of the matrix converter is the second in command, Jackson Blade. While Jackson and The Free were scouting the area for a package drop between another one of their bases, a mysterious package was found in a wrecked and abandoned ship. Opening the box, they found an artifact in which they had no idea how to use. It seemed to be a few decades old. Jackson decided that they'd bring it back to the main base for Michael Rowen, leader of The Free, to do further research on it. He and Michael were close friends ever since childhood, but they were only seven at the time of the invasion.

The Free team stays to wait for the appointed package, while a personally assigned guard comes along with jackson to deliver mystery box. The guard that was assigned to him was Neil Maroven. He is the top guard in the squadron, assigned to assist him and protect him with his life. Traveling on foot towards the main underground base, the trip was only a jog away. Observing the box, Jackson asks Neil enthusiastically,

"So what do you think this artifact is for?" obviously quite excited for this find, "Maybe some strange alien tech? Or old human tech?"

"I don't know sir," he replies in a terse manner, "I'm just a guard, not really one for... technology..." Neil replies.

Suddenly, a loud explosion can be heard from a nearby building a block away.

"What was that?!" Jackson shouts, "We have to check--!"

"Sir!" Neil interjects, "This could be very dangerous-- I would be breaking protocol if I were to let you-"

"There could be humans in trouble, Neil! This node is known to have some survivors!"

Neil hesitates for a moment, but sighs heavily,

"Fine. However, I must accompany you, sir."

Jackson hops enthusiastically and sprints towards the loud explosions' direction.

Just then, however, Jackson trips and falls over the downward slope. Gaining momentum, he rolls fast and smacks into some ruined buildings' debris. Through a hole in the wall, he finds himself in front of what seems to be a decrepit office.

"Sir!" Neil yells from the higher ground, running after him.

Jackson massages his head as he sees something shining in the building and decides to investigate the source. Catching up to him, Neil checks to see if he's okay, completely against his idea.

"I don't think we should do this, sir. We are on a limited time slot here."

Jackson replied with, "Alright, hold on. I just need to check whats going on inside, alright? Five minutes only, I promise."

Neil begrudgingly allows him, but keeping his guard up and high as he follows Jackson,

"Yes, sir... But only for five minutes! We must hasten our procedures."

Opening the door slowly, he could tell that there was something wrong here because of two things. One, the light disappeared; two, there was something at the end of the room.
