As a full day passed, Xenia remained unconscious. The growing uneasiness among the group was palpable and the silence only enhanced the suffocating tension that was already present.
The doctor conducted a series of checks, concluding that all of Xenia's vital signs were normal and there was no signs of any deterioration. However, this didn't alleviate their anxieties.
Fiona Turner couldn't hold back any longer and lashed out at Basil Jaak, "Jaak, you maintained that Xenia would wake up if she took your medicine. So why hasn't there been any improvement? Jaak, you're nothing more than a bloody fraud!"
Jaak did not refute her, nor did he care to. If his medicine truly had no effect and Xenia didn't awaken from the coma, he could not find it in himself to forgive.
