Irass I need to show you something."

"Hmm?"

I look up and stormy eyes are looking back at me. It smelled of wet earth, just after rainfall. Its cold. I can feel the cool air creeping up my fingers and nose. I take a deep breathe.

"Whats wrong?"

"Did I say anything was wrong?"

I step toward him and place my hands on either side of his face.

"You dont have to, I see it in your eyes"

I brush my thumb across his cheek.

He nuzzels his face against my hand as if trying to savior the sensation. I see his eyebrows crease as he closes his eyes.

"Devin?..."

He looks pained why?

I almost miss it but i hear it. A whisper. A wish.

"Just please don't hate me after this"

He steps back mutiple feet. When i try to reach out he steps back further shaking his head.

I stay still watching silently, waiting.

The plants in the field sway in the fall wind. The full moon illuminating our face. I watch.

Time seems so slow at night. Seconds pass on like hours. I can tell he waring inside himself.

Finally after a minute he looks at me. His eyes go from dark stormy clouds to almost glowing silver.

Mmm. I love his eyes the way they change.

"Irass..."

I draw my attention back

".....i love you"

Im stunned. Those three simple words are filled with so much hope and fear, desperation and determination, heartbreak and finality. As if he's about to say goodbye forever.

It takes me a bit to respond. And im honestly scared. I try my best to convey all of my deepest feelings as well.

"I..I love you too"

He smiles somewhat sadly

"Please close your eyes.... keep them closed till i say so."

I stare silently for a while and them comply.

I trust you.

For a bit i hear nothing and suddenly i hear a loud pop. Followed by the sound of something breaking in multiple places. Crackling fills the air. Feeling anxious i shuffle my feet, fighting the urge to open my eyes.

Silence soon returned. I breathed in deep holding my hands tight.

Whats happening? What do i do?

I hear foot steps and instantly become alert.

"Devin?"

I call out. An uneasy feeling enveleps me.

I feel a tap on my shoulder. I take that as a signal to open my eyes.

Why didnt he just say...

I slowly open my eyes. At first i only see large silver eyes. And then the rest of the figure takes form. I see the red ginger hair. Grown out. I see the claws and the snout. My eyed widen in seconds. What stood befor me was not Devin. It was a wolf.

I stood petrified. I simply stared at the beast mouth wide open. It was much larger than a normal wolf. On all fours it stood at least 6 feet. It resembled a wolf deity from folklore. Its eyes glowing like crystals. Its fur shining in the moon light.

As i stare i feel like my lungs are collapsing. I try my best to breathe and to calm myself.

What should i do?

I notice my body shaking, my breathe is labored, i am clenching my hands so tightly they ace.

I cant breathe. Fear takes over and my vision begins to blur.

Then suddenly without warning the beast licks my hands, whimpering.

I am still shaking and breathing hard when i focuse my eyes back on the silver orbs of the beast. It looks worried and scared.

Devin...

I shakily lift one of my hands and close my eyes tightly. Hoping what i think is right. I then feel it. The sensation of fur touching my fingers.

I open my eyes again and chuckle softly.

"S s ssoo y..your a w..w..wolf"

I rub my hand through the top of his head.

And laugh again.

The glittering eyed lookup at me still anxious.

"I'm sorry...."

I say this breathlessly

He looks confused

"I'm sorry..."

I feel my legs give out. I land on something soft

Oh he caught me.

I feel something shift under me as my vision gets darker.

I soon feel arms embrace me. A small voice calling my name.

"Irass!?... Irass!!!"

I smile and feel the darkness finally takes over.

Hospital

Devin's POV

She looks pale. Too pale. What have I done?

I hear a soft knoc at the door. A middle aged man walks in. He checks her information and turns to me.

"Well Mr. Lupus she is doing fine, her fainting was due to severe shock and fear"

I clench my fist in my lap. And look down

Of course she was afraid

"May I ask what occured tonight?"

I close my eyes and take a deep breathe. After a few seconds i look up at the man stating four simple words as flatly as possible.

"She saw a wolf"

"Oh I see....."

The man seemed interested. But soon shook his head and went to leave the room.

"She may leave as soon as she wakes up. Make sure to stop by the front desk and be sure she takes it easy"

I stay silent as the man leaves and return my gaze to her. I look at her willing her eyes to open. Watching her quiet form.

My Love, my life please wake up

Irass POV

I feel warmth on my hand, it feels comforting. I take a deep breathe and stain my ears to hear, and will my eyes to see.

Why am I asleep?

I blick my eyes open and focus on what is right before me. A ceiling, everything smells of metal and medicine. I crinkle my nose.

Where am I?

I feel a pressure on my hand and hear a gasp. I look to my right and try to focus on the figure by my side. My vision finally clears and i see him.

His dark grey almost black eyes. Exhaustion etched on his face. Anxiety shown on his expression. He looks at me as though i were dieing.

I lift my hand and brush the on coming tear away. Smiling at him softly.

I hear him take a shaky breathe as his hand goes up to mine.

"Whats the matter hon?"

A single tear roles down his face when he hears his nickname. He rubs his face against my hand closing his eyes.

I feel pain in my chest just from watching. After a bit he speaks. Sounding hoarse and emotional.

" I    I thought you were gonna leave me.   I thought you      were gonna reject me!!"

"I was so scared .... and ....and then you fainted."

"Im so sorry.....Im so sorry....i shouldn't have shown you!"

His tears flow freely as he speaks. I gentley pull him toward me until his head is against my chest. I rub the back of his head softly calming him down.

"Aren't you scared of me?"

"...mmm I was. I was very scared. But i realized something when you let me pet you."

He looks at me from his position

"I realized that you are still you. My love, my everything...my Devin. The Devin I met, dated, fell in love with, and will soon marry."

My eyes shift to the engagment ring on my finger. I look back at him.

"I would never reject you"

He lifts his head and looks at me with hope and sesperation.

"Then.....why did you start to apologize?"

I smile sadly

"Because I also realized how aweful i treated you...."

I look deep into his eyes and he understands what i want. He sits on the egde of the bed and softly lays his forhead against mine. We do this a lot. It makes us feel connected, like we one.

"Im sorry, I treated you like a monster....like an animal....Im so so sorry!"

My voice cracks and my tears start to fall

Why would i do such a shallow thing?

"....please forgive me"

I plead and cry. I can not lose him ever

He smiles at me warmly, then kisses my tears away. He then stands and offers his hand to me. A memory of years past float into my mind.

I take his hand.

"My Mate.....lets go home"
