Even more perplexing, the protagonist of the narrative, the mysterious and intelligent Ayanokōji Kiyotaka, looks eerily similar to him. Hiroshi is divided between his two opposing goals as he maneuvers through this hazy reality. He is torn between his two conflicting desires.
