6 A Hard Decision

The eel suddenly stopped moving. Despite its body being imprisoned from the lady's grasp, the beast does not seem to mind the situation.

"Now, be good and obey this big sister. Give up your core and you will continue to live," Hui Yin Shi softly said. Even though her words were a threat directed to the sea beast, her tone and the manner she spoke them was too soft that it could lull someone to sleep.

"Do you underestimate me, human? Just one cultivator like you is not enough to get this core that is within me!" the sea beast mocked her. There was a direct contempt on its voice as if challenging the lady of her capacity.

"Hmm, you are unwilling to give me your core? Then, I cannot spare your life!" Hui Yin Shi stated with a gently curved her lips into a smile. Her words were very in contrast to the expression on her face.

"Spare my life? You are too young to be my opponent! In your next life---"

The sea beast did not get the chance to finish what she was about to say. She had already lost consciousness.

The lady who was holding the sea beast just shook her head in displeasure.

"Since you don't want to surrender the beast core within you, then I don't have a choice but to use force to get your core! Don't blame me, okay? Don't worry, I won't kill you!" Hui Yin Shin wrapped all her energy towards the eel and remove the core of the beast.

The process of separating the core took several minutes. She also consumed much of her Yin energy. But after she saw the core, the smile on her face become wider.

As the object that she was looking at was removed from the body of the golden eel, the beast released a terrifying shriek of agony. This scream mirrored the sound of the thunder rolling down the sky.

If a normal human would have heard the sound coming from the sea beast, it was more than enough to destroy their ears.

However, the lady did not even flinched by the deafening sound of the beast that she was holding. She cast a glance on its unconscious eel before she casually threw the body of the monster. The loud splash sounded as it fell on the sea and floated below her.

Not long after, the dark clouds finally broke into tiny droplets of rain. Hui Yin Shi did not mind the rain for her Yin energy prevented her from getting wet.

The droplets from the sky only glided after they reached a few inches away from her skin.

The lady smiled and gently held the dark object containing the purest Yin. The object was color black and it was very cold but she liked how it felt in her palm.

Without any hesitation, Hui Yin Shi swallowed the dark object and tried to refine the core to merge it with her power.

In an instant, she felt the intense freezing sensation traveling from her vital organs. She could tell that the core was slowly fusing within her.

A cold sweat broke from her forehead while she continued to refine the core. Her eyes were tightly shut and the entire space around her became silent.

No more sound of waves or splashing of water. Her concentration deepened.

But before she could finish the refining process of the core, the tail of the sea beast that she had just thrown suddenly wrapped on her ankles!

This made her eyes opened widely. Then, before she could react, her body was pulled down on the water!

Hui Yin Shi struggled with her concentration. She must keep circulating the Yin energy in her body to maintain the balance above the water.

Unfortunately, with the consumption of the dark core from the golden eel, the concentration of her Yin energy became irregular. The fusion between the core and her body made the energy within her completely erratic.

Before the lady could even think of anything, her soft body was submerged in the deep waters. The tail of the golden eel continued to drag her towards the bottom of the sea!

"Not good!" Hui Yin Shi panicked as his body was being pulled down.

With her power, she can breathe in the bottom sea. But it would compromise the process of refining the core. She needed to make a choice!

Between refining the purest Yin core or breathing, she needed to decide which was more important!

The Yin circulation of her Yin energy had lost its consistency. Perhaps, it was because of the interrupted refining process or something else.

"HAHA, human, spit the core that you have taken out from my body! How dare you steal it from me? I have cultivated for millennia to obtain the purity of that core!" the sound of the eel rang as they arrived on the seafloor.

"You ungrateful beast! I have let you live but now, you dragged me here?! I will kill you!" Hui Yin Shi said in anger.

"It is my fault now? It was you who stole my core! If you did not steal my core, this would not happen! Give it back!" the golden eel retorted.

"Haha, what an ignorant beast! If I don't get your core, then other cultivators will! We knew that you will appear and we had been waiting for you to reveal your exact location!" Hui Yin Shi stated.

Hui Yin Shi shook her head to clear her thoughts and recover her concentration. She planned to continue to refine the core. She was almost there! If the golden eel did not interrupt her, she would have been finished by now!

She made a decision of giving up the circulation of her Yin energy. Give up breathing on the bottom of the sea and just focus on the beast core.

At that point, all she had in her mind was to get the core blend with her internal organs. She was hoping that once the core perfectly merged in her body, she could still survive.
