Adventures in Egypt pt. 1

Dear Fellow Travelers,

It's me, Doctor Phoenix Blackwood or Ash, and for those of you who are reading my blogs for the first time, I'm a travel writer, adventurer, multilinguistic, mythologist, and clairvoyant. My powers allow me to gain information about an object, people, place, or physical event that happened in the past, present, and occasionally the future. And for those of you who have already read my blog, you may be confused as to why I called myself a doctor and a mythologist. While I just got my Ph.D. in folklore and mythology.

But enough about that, let me, your clairvoyant travel guide, tell you about my most recent adventure. It all started when I got a call from my old friend Doctor Krystal Wood. Krystal Wood, or Geo as we call her, is an archaeologist, fashion designer, and energy manipulator. Her powers allow her to condense energy into a physical form. She also has a Ph.D., but it's in archeology.

"Geo! Hi! It's been a long time!" I say.

"Hi, Ash! Yeah, it's been too long." Geo says.

"How long has it been three-four years?"

"Four years, definitely. And congratulations!"

"Thanks, but for what?"

"A little birdie told me you got your first doctorate; congratulations, now we're both doctors."

"HAHAHAHA …. Thanks! And as good as it is to talk to you, I know there's a reason you're called. So, let's not beat around the bush. What can I help you with?"

"You know me too well; I need your help with a new project I'm working on."

"Which is?"

"I'm excavating a new and recently discovered ruin site, and I need yo-"

"Let me guess, you need my help to see the past of the ruins."

"Yes! And you can even be the first person to write and document the excavation site for your travel and ancient history blog."

"Sure! I don't mind helping you. But where is the excavation site?"

"Thanks, Ash. And the excavation site is in Egypt, close to the Temple of Hatshepsut."

"Okay, see you tomorrow, Geo."

"See you tomorrow, Ash."

I flew to Egypt on my private plane to meet her the following day. When I got there, Geo was already there to pick me up. We hugged and talked as we left the airport for the excavation site.

"Hey, thanks for coming. I really needed your help." Geo said.

"Hey, no problem, you know me, I'm always looking for a new adventure," I said.

"That I do, and I see you dressed for the occasion; nice outfit," Geo said as she gave my outfit an approving glance.

"Of course, you know what I always say, 'dress for success,' and I see you also dressed for the occasion," I said as I looked at what she was wearing.

We both start laughing as we drive to the excavation site. We were both wearing breathable clothes that were more comfortable for the hot climate of the desert. We were both wearing tan mid-thigh shorts, white short-sleeve t-shirts, tan vests, and light brown ankle-high desert walking boots. I was also wearing dark purple desert sunglasses, blackish gold gloves with royal purple gems on them, and a light royal purple desert wrap cloak, and I had my long black and dark purple hair in one single braided ponytail. While Geo was also wearing dark blue desert goggles, blueish silver hand braces with royal blue gems on them, and a light royal blue desert wrap cloak, and she had her long brown and dark blue hair in two twin braided ponytails.

We drove to one of the checkpoints, then rode camels the rest of the way to the excavation site. When we got there, it was almost midday, and Geo decided that we should have lunch before we started exploring the ruins, as well as introducing me to the excavating crew that would be joining us on the excavation.

We ate Hawawshi, which is basically dough stuffed with a mixture of ground beef and seasoned with tantalizing warm spices, onions, garlic, hot peppers, and fresh herbs, and drank Sahlab, which is a hot vanilla drink. As we ate, she introduced me to the excavating crew that would be joining us on the excavation. Her excavating crew consisted of four people; two females and two males; their names are Dalila Mina, William Sky, Doctor Eleanor Adeela, and Doctor Cary Adeela.

Dalila Mina is our Egyptian guide and is a location tracker. Her powers allow her to find the location of herself, someone else, and anything, regardless of where they happen to be on Earth. William Sky is the video recorder and a telekinetic. His powers allow him to move things and people with his mind and create a nearly impenetrable forcefield. Doctor Eleanor and Doctor Cary Adeela are twins and are both historians and researchers. Doctor Eleanor Adeela is the older twin sister and is a darkness manipulator, and her powers allow her to manipulate and control darkness any way she wants. And Doctor Cary Adeela is the younger twin brother and is a light manipulator, and her powers allow her to manipulate and control light any way he wants. They also had PhDs in history and research.

After we finished our lunch and introduction, we started exploring the ruins. The deeper we when into the ruins, the darker it became; Cary made medium small size balls of light for each of us. After about five minutes, I turned and looked at Geo.

"So, what exactly do you need my help with?"

"With this,"

I turned to the wall Geo was discussing and saw writing carved into it. At first, I thought it was ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and was momentarily confused because I know Geo can read them even better than I can. But once I walked up close to the wall and got a better look, I saw that it wasn't ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs; the writing was written in a language I had never seen before. Which was weird because I am multilinguistic and able to speak, read, and write in any language, no matter how old or lost the language is. I touch my gloved right hand to the wall for a few seconds, then turn to look at Geo.

"What language is this? I don't recognize it?"

"We don't know. But I was hoping you could use your powers to find out."

"I see...Not a problem."

I took off my right-hand glove and put my right hand back on the wall and let me tell you, readers, this is where things started to get weird. But that's for part 2. See you soon, readers, and Let the Power Protect You!

I hope you like it. Comment good and bad are welcomed.
