32 The Lieutenants Without A Commander

After Lieutenant Mavine disappeared the other lieutenants soon realized that there was no longer a need to remain where they were. Coming out of their shell shock they realized that they were alone now. Verran Vex was dead and with that their connection to the Falcon family, they were now Parthians without a tribe.

Lieutenant Scocabes saw the cold look behind Mavines eyes and saw killing intent hidden within her which had scared him. While they had been traveling through the Milkyway Galaxy for millions of earth years he could not remember a time where he physically fought Mavine because he always believed her to be weak. He never realized it before but when they tried to kill Vex he suddenly realized that Mavine was royalty hidden in plain sight.

When Lieutenant Scocabes had clashed with Mavine he was overpowered by Mavine's created power. He felt that what he had received was only the tip of the iceberg.

'What if she comes after me? What if she tries to kill me?' Scocabes thought as he teleported into his personal pocket dimensional space a place a quarter the size of a lower class planet.

Royalty was one of the Parthian classes able to breach others' pocket dimension and destroy them with ease. Luckily most royals conquered a Galaxy and stayed there. Royals were small in numbers and because of that were only a threat when their pantheon and they decided to command the tribes in combat.

When Lieutenant Scocabes arrived in his pocket dimension he sat on a throne much less intricate than the one in Mavine's realm. He had chosen an ice planet for himself because he had always felt a kinship with the created element of ice.

Lieutenant Scocabe began to plot on how to kill Mavine in secret unwilling to have a royal grudge directed toward him. While Royals were powerful occasionally they could be taken down by Parthains with deeper knowledge about the inner workings of the universe.

"I'm much better than that %$#$%$. I have lived much longer than she has I'm sure I can kill her using my knowledge I have gathered but I won't act unless she becomes more threatening. Let's just hope she forgets I tried to kill our commander while he was obviously committing suicide." Lieutenant Scocabes might be cold but he was also loyal and had a deep respect for the commander. He had served for so long and was slightly ashamed at how easily he turned on him.

In the ocean base, lieutenant Fieghn appeared, a heavyset man that wasn't fat but more muscular than the average Parthian male. He walked towards his workstation depressed. As he was walking back he encountered a youth running toward him with enthusiasm a quality that he liked in the men working under him. Seeing his energetic appearance seemed to soothe the hurt that he felt ever since Vex had died.

"You have to see what they found sir," said the red-haired boy enthusiastically before running off to collect the rest of the scientists. Walking to his work station he found a half fish half human laying on his table having an attractive face, red hair and curious green eyes. While she should be afraid, Fieghn saw that she wasn't and he became confused. He turned around to thoroughly question the scientists who had found this obviously defective creature.

Just as Fieghn had begun to walk away the girl began to speak in a unique language that was not the native tongue most of the humans spoke. Fieghn turned around

'Time to have an interesting conversation,' thought Fieghn. He had never encountered a human look-alike species with a tail but anything was possible on this strange planet.

Lieutenant Avalat looked at Mavine when she had disappeared and saw a strange expression on her face. There is something she is not telling us. Knowing her for so long he instantly knew it had to do with Vex.

'Could Vex be alive. It shouldn't be possible considering the collapse of his pocket dimensional space.' thought Avalat as he looked at the other lieutenants before turning his back to them

'I will find out one way or another,' Avalat concluded before vanishing into his pocket dimension.
