26 Building a Kingdom (2)

Gilgamesh suddenly reappeared in a large space, a place filled with a familiar energy that he had felt before. Gilgamesh looked around him and he saw a dark void but somehow he sensed the size of the void and where its borders lied. He felt it grow in tandem with his pulse with the increase in his own energy. Gilgamesh felt that his space was already 10 miles in size and growing slowly with each passing second.

Suddenly he found a projection of Lord Vex standing in front of him. His deep voice commanded respect but also had an odd tone of familiarity, "Gilgamesh my boy," Lord Vex smiled before his illuminated form took a reflective stance his golden eyes looked into the distance, "I remember when I first came to this world and thought I was seeing a glimpse into the past, one that I have never seen in person. You were the first human I ever saw and you just like the rest are amazingly like our own races, in more ways than I originally thought."

He turned to Gilgamesh, "I thought that I would forget humans just like all the other young races I have discovered in my travels but it seems I'm attached. We are not from this planet you see, we come from the stars. You call us living gods but we are aliens that are born in another universe one that we are forbidden to speak about as I do with you now."

Some unrecognizable emotion showed on his face before he smiled bitterly. "I belong to the hegemonic elder race. A race that makes the impossible possible. Our created abilities make us capable of limitless exploration and building, in fact, we have colonized over 1000 galaxies as an empire, but we have also waged wars that have spaned hundreds of galaxies that have destroyed countless civilizations."

He then looked at Gilgamesh and smiled. "Your race is weak just like ours was before we began the transformation and so I have decided to spark the blaze of an evolution needed for your survival in this cruel universe."

Turning around he said, "Enough said. I've done all I can for your race. We'll most likely not see each other again."

His gold hair blazed and his muscled body shimmered before he disappeared from Gilgamesh's view. The pressure inside Gilgamesh was released. His body was illuminated and knowledge flooded into his head followed by intense pain that only built upon itself as the influx of knowledge only sped up.

Vex sat on a crumbling throne as his realm began deteriorating, slowly at first before causing disastrous trickle-down effects. His expression was hidden behind a shadow as he watched his realm fall apart. Time seemed to slow around the earth and the surrounding 100 light-years as if the universe itself was observing the fall of an elder god.

Vex's lieutenants broke through the barrier of his unstable realm one at a time. Lieutenant Scocabes appeared in front of him with his other lieutenants, he screamed in fear, "What have you done?"

Gilgamesh awoke in his void and tears fell from his eyes. He now understood that the only living God that he still worshiped was dying, and there was nothing he could do about it. Waking up from his daze he analyzed his realm and saw that it had grown to be a hundred thousand miles in diameter.

'It seems knowledge grows my realm', Gilgamesh thought briefly.

Gilgamesh with better control of his powers created a castle using the images and material that Vex had shown him. He even used Alien architecture which he considered beautiful, pulling from a collection of different civilizations extinct or yet thriving. He sensed the dragon laying satisfied in the same spot that it had blasted its flames before obviously believing it had incinerated him. Gilgamesh decided it was time to go back. He appeared in the same area that he had left before and his city appeared high in the sky

"Hello Dragon we meet again," Gilgamesh screamed at the dragon from a distance.

The Noble dragon was confused before he heard the whistling of wind above him. He looked up before a city construction decapitated him and crushed his body. Only his draconic face seemed to be stuck in a shocked expression with a wide mouth showing his bloodied teeth and shocking orange eyes.

There stood a city by the newly named Mashu mountain, gleaming as nothing seen before it.
