4 2 Jade’s Reality

Jade was a young girl hidden from the shadow world by her parents, as they didn't want her to know about the Shadow world or their world not yet anyway as it was too dangerous for her to know.

Jade's father died when she was only one year old, but the thing is that her father was a mundane, that's what she was told. Jade's father Nick died in a house fire, which wasn't an accident. It happened on a day that was like any other day, Nick would normally be at work but he had some time off, so he was at home alone preparing dinner, when someone sneaked into the house and set the curtains on fire. Once they had done that they ran out and Nick had no idea what had happened until it was too late. Nick couldn't escape the flames as he was trapped.

Later that day while Jade was at nursery and her mother was at a friend's house, Jade's mother got a phone call from the police saying that there had been a fire at her home and that her husband had died in the fire. Jade's mother went to the nursery to pick up Jade. Jade's mother was so devastated that she took Jade and went to stay at her friend's. While at her mother's friend's house, Jade learned how to walk and talk but her father sadly missed it. When Jade turned ten her mother went to a battle that she never knew about, but she never came home.

A month had passed and her mother still hadn't come home. The next day Jade got a phone call and it was one of her mother's childhood friends and they told her that her mother's sister, Jade's aunt was coming to get her. Ten minutes later Jade's aunt Rosalie came to get her, Jade packed all that she owned then Rosalie took Jade back to her place in New York. Jade's aunt Rosalie lived in New York way before Jade was born.

The next day Jade had school and of course she was the new student so she had no friends there, she felt so alone. But when Jade entered the hallway of the school, she found a familiar face and it was her friend Abbie. While she was at her new school, Jade hung around with Abbie and she helped Jade make new friends. Two years after Jade had moved in with her aunt Rosalie, her aunt passed away and she was then placed in the foster system in New York.

The day after her aunt passed away the spell that had put on her mind had worn off and she started to draw the angelic rune. While she lived with her aunt, her aunt used to take her to see someone who did something to Jade that she could not recall. The Nightravens found Jade in the foster system and decided to foster her. While Jade lived with the Nightravens, she had nightmares every night about demons and the shadow world. Some nights Clary would go into see her and sometimes it was Jocelyn, and they both told her that they were just nightmares and they weren't real, but every time Jade protested that it was real. When Jade turned eighteen, she saw the shadow world more and more and she found a mark on her arm and she didn't know what it was. She had a load of questions as she was very curious. Before Jade's aunt passed away, she told Jade about her bloodline, that she had angel blood in her and that it made her special and that it also made her a Shadowhunter. Jade was also told that her mom and aunt were also Shadowhunters. "Was my dad one of those Shadowhunters too?" asked Jade in a curious voice. "No he was a mundane, not a Shadowhunter" answered Rosalie. There were a few minutes of silence while Jade processed all the information that was just given to her. "What in the hell is a mundane?" asked Jade in a surprised tone. But before Rosalie could answer she passed away.

Jade woke up from her dream to realise, that she had no living blood family that she knew of. Then Jade remembered something that her aunt told her before she passed away, that she had some type of special bloodline. But of course she just got confused thinking about it. That same day she went back to her aunt's house to sort through her things and she found something strange that looked like a pen and when Jade went to see if it worked, it burned to the touch and it had some weird markings.

When Jade got back to her foster home, it was time for dinner. At home for dinner that night was Clary, Jocelyn, Jonathan, Luke and Jade. Everyone there apart from Luke were Shadowhunters. Luke was a cop and a werewolf, Jonathan on the other hand is a Shadowhunter but he was a Shadowhunter with demon blood. After Jade had finished her, she washed up the plates, then went up to her room and started to draw weird symbols, then Clary popped her head through Jade's door to talk to her and then she saw what Jade was drawing.

The next day Jade went to her Thai boxing class after school. While Jade was at school, Clary went into Jade's room and got her drawings and then showed them to her mom. When the Thai boxing class had finished, Jade went to china town to get some ingredients for dinner that night. When Jade got into china town she started to see images from her dream. When the images finally stopped she went and got the ingredients that she needed. Once she had all the ingredients Jade headed home to prepare dinner. While Jade was on her way home she had a feeling that she was being watched.

When Jade got home her foster mom Jocelyn was waiting for her. "When did you start drawing these symbols?" asked Jocelyn. "Not that long, just after my mom and aunt passed away, do you know what they mean or why I'm drawing them?" replied Jade. "Did your aunt, mom or dad tell you anything" said Jocelyn. There were a few minutes of silence before anyone spoke again. "All that my aunt told me was that my dad was a mundane, and that her and my mom were Shadowhunters and that I also have angel blood in me" replied Jade with a sad tone in her voice.

It was very late when Jocelyn and Jade finished talking, so Jade went to bed and she had another dram, it was about her mom and dad and she was talking in her sleep and all of a sudden she started to shout. Clary woke up and went to see her and woke her up. "Jade what's wrong?" asked Clary. "I had a bad dream about my parents, and saw who killed my dad and what killed my mom" replied Jade.

"What happened to your father, Jade?" asked Clary. "It was when I was only one years old, he died in a house fire, but they couldn't find the killer" answered Jade "so what was it that you saw that you think killed your mom?" Clary finally asked. "I'm not sure how to tell you, but I could show you by drawing it, could you pass me my drawing pad and pencil?" asked Jade. So Clary passed Jade her drawing pad and pencil, Jade started to draw what she saw and when she was done she showed it to Clary.

Clary went and woke up her mom then showed her Jade's drawing. "What is that, what in the hell did I draw?" asked Jade. "It's a demon and a powerful one at that" replied Jocelyn. "So what do we do?" asked Clary. "We have to go to the institute and find out whom or what kind of demon this is" said Jocelyn. "Are you sure that's a good idea Jocelyn, we don't know anything about Jade she could be lying" said Luke. Jocelyn nods. So Luke, Jocelyn, Jonathan, Clary and Jade all headed to the New York institute.

They took the long route to the institute to make sure that they weren't followed, but as they got closer to the institute they got attacked by a swarm of demons. Jace, Izzy and Alec got an alert that demons were close to the perimeter and they went to where they were and saw Clary, Jocelyn, Jonathan and Luke fighting demons, so Jace, Izzy and Alec went to help. After the final demon was killed, Alec found someone in Luke's car. "Who's that in your car?" asked Alec. There was a minute of silence before someone said anything about Jade.

Then the silence was broken and it was Jade that broke the silence by asking a question to the three people she didn't know. "What demon is this that I've drawn?" asked Jade. Then Jade showed her drawing of the demon that she saw kill her mom, to Jace, Alec and Izzy. There was a shocked look on Alec's face as he had seen this demon before in one of the books in the library of the institute. Everyone looked at Alec with the expression on his face and they all had a puzzled look on their faces. "What is it Alec?" asked Luke. There was a minute of silence from Alec. "I will tell you when we get to the institute, as I have to show you guys and it has something to do with Jade's drawing" replied Alec. So they all walked to the institute then Jade stopped at the bottom of the steps and looked up in amazement. "What is it Jade?" asked Clary. "It's nothing" replied Jade. Then Jade went up the stairs with Clary and they entered the institute, then Jace and Clary took Jade on a quick tour of the institute, while Alec finds the book he needed. "Jade do you see what no-one else can?" asked Clary. "Like the outside of the institute" said Jade replying to Clary's question.

Jade, Jace and Clary all went back to join Alec and the others, just in time as Alec had found the book that he needed. Then Magnus bane came as he got word of what happened. Jocelyn and Luke were surprised that Magnus would even come. "I have found Jade's drawing" announced Alec, and then everyone gathered around the table where Alec was. "Jade this is the demon that you have drawn" said Alec looking at Jade.

Then Jade took the book, and went to find somewhere to sit and read about the demon. The demon that Jade thinks killed her was a prince of hell. The demon's name is Asmodeus, Magnus's father. The battle between Asmodeus and Jade's mom Juliet was very tough and Juliet tried her hardest to live and win the battle. When Magnus found out who the demon was he went silent and didn't speak.

Jade had finished reading about the prince of hell Asmodeus but she didn't find any way of destroying him. She came back to the group and there was someone there she didn't know. "Hey Jade are you okay?" asked Clary. There was a surprised look on Jade's face while there was a shocked look on Magnus's face. "I'm okay just confused about how the demon Asmodeus killed my mom, and who is that?" replied Jade with a confused tone in her voice. "Oh! Jade, this is Magnus bane the high warlock of Brooklyn" said Izzy. There was silence from everyone and then Maryse entered the room with there being and awkward silence as everyone turned to look at her.

"What is going on here?" asked Maryse. Then there was a lot of chatter from everyone. "Silence!" shouted Maryse. Then everyone just went dead quiet and looked at Maryse. "What is going on here and what is with all the noise?" asked Maryse. They all stayed quiet but then Jocelyn spoke. "We have a new Shadowhunter and we were helping her find out what happened to her mom" said Jocelyn. Then Jade stepped forward so Maryse could see her. "Juliet was one of our best Shadowhunters and a royal one, who shouldn't have been there" said Maryse. There was silence from everyone and then it was broken by Jade. "You knew my mom, do you know what happened to her?" asked Jade. Maryse gave Jocelyn a look that said do I tell her and Jocelyn gave her a look back that said tomorrow.

Jocelyn took Jade home as it was very late when they had found out what demon killed Jade's mom. Jocelyn, Jade and the others got home and Jade went straight upstairs with Clary following behind. Jade went straight to her room and Clary went to see if she was okay and she was. So Jade went to sleep and Clary stayed with her until she was fast asleep.
