17 Chapter 17

After their joyous lunch, nanny Miranda urged Francheska to go upstairs and take a short nap while she was cleaning the kitchen. Francheska tried to help her nanny Miranda, but she firmly refused her offer. Miranda asked Francheska to have a short rest in her room upstairs since she knew that Francheska drove her car for several hours just to arrived there. In the end, Francheska sighed in defeat and asked her nanny Miranda to wake her up before five in the afternoon.

Francheska's room was located on the second floor near the staircase. When she opened the door of her room, Francheska was surprised to see that nothing has changed inside. The cool pastel-colored wallpapers inside her room are still vivid in her eyes. The queen-sized bed with a soft pink bedsheet is still there. Even her collection of pink panda stuffed toys are neatly arranged inside a glass cabinet.

Whenever Miranda misses her Francheska, she tends to clean that room to ease her loneliness. Miranda always makes sure that her room is always clean and free from dust. She did not change the interior design of the room because it also served as one of Francheska's memory when she was still young. Miranda can still remember the image of the playful little girl who ran around the house with a smile on her face.

Francheska only removed her thin sweater before laying on the soft, fluffy bed. The bedsheets as well as the pillowcase smells like her favorite strawberry scent. Francheska spreads her arms and legs and stared at the glow in the dark stickers on the ceiling.

The stickers were still there, but its bright effects were now gone. The glowing bedroom at night in Francheska's memories was now back to its original dark spacious bedroom. Francheska was pondering if she will remove those stickers on her ceiling but chose not to do it in the end. Those stickers might have lost their glowing effect, but the memories they bring to her were still there.

Francheska can still remember the day her dad put those stickers on the ceiling for Francheska. When she was still a child, Francheska was really afraid of the dark. She was still a naive little kid at that time who believed in monsters living under your bed. Even if her mother left the lampshade on at night, Francheska was still afraid to sleep alone in her room. That was when her father suddenly got an idea.

Francheska's father, Damian, bought four boxes full of glow in the dark stickers while she was in her school. The stickers Damian bought comes in different sizes and shapes. Her father meticulously put all the glow in the dark stickers he bought on her ceiling. When night time came, Francheska was really surprised at the outcome of her father's work.

Her ceiling became a replica of the milky way and galaxy with different glowing stars and planets on it. Francheska can still remember how she showered her father a lot of praises for bringing all the stars inside her darkroom at that time. Francheska really believed that her father was some kind of superhero and she was really lucky to have Damian as her dad. In the end, Francheska stayed up all night to admire the glow in the dark stickers on her ceiling.

'Ah, those memories...'

Those were the times where her family was still complete. Francheska's parents were still happy and in love with each other and she was their only little princess. Francheska let out a tired sigh before covering her body with a thick blanket. She better sleep now to gain her energy back before she visits her mother later.

Francheska feels refresh after a straight three hours of sleep inside her old room. She stretched her arms and legs first before she gets inside the bathroom to take a quick bath. She changed into a white shirtdress and a pair of white strapped sandals before getting downstairs where her nanny Miranda was preparing some snacks. After making sure that they have everything they need, Francheska and Miranda get inside the car to go to the place where her mother is currently staying.

It only took them a whole hour of car ride until they arrived in a mental health facility near the district. When Francheska gets out of her car, she looked at the white building in front of her. Unlike earlier, Francheska does not have a smile on her face. She looked at the building in a daze as she observed every detail of the building in front of her.
