"Fail"

Hearing his mother emotionless voice and seeing the unrecognizable black lump, Yin Yu know that he has failed his first alchemy, although he was kinda disappointed, Yin Yu has already predicted that his first time concocting pills may be a failure.

"Little Yu, do you know why you have failed?"

"Is it because I'm not good enough when I concoct the pills?"

Hearing Yin Yu word, Yin Ying only chuckles a little when she starts to explain the fault in Yin Yu concoction.

"Little Yu, did you realize that you've committed a lot of mistakes because you're fixed on concocting it like how mom concoct it? "

"Wha-?"

Before Yin Yu can express his shock, his mother has gone and tell Yin Yu all of the mistakes he has done.

"First, because You try to purify medicine with the same time like mom, the medicine you purify end up not truly purified while it still has lots of impurities which is one of the main problems why your concoction fail."

"Second, because of your useless gesture by copying mom, you have ended up messing with the timing of each medicine which crumbles their harmony."

"Third, The way you control the cauldron fire is too mediocre, you need to remember that fire control when concocting is needed by every alchemist, which was why most alchemist comes from those with the affinity with fire qi because they're better at controlling fire."

"Fourth…"

"Sixteen…"

"Sixty-Six…"

"One hundred and Eleven…"

"Stop!"

Hearing all of the fault he made while it's said in fast-forwarded voice nearly made Yin Yu crazy, he didn't realize that he has done so many faults and his mother didn't even stop yet!, fortunately he has decided to ask his mother to stop saying his fault or he might get too embarrassed to concoct another pill!.

Taking a deep breath, Yin Yu start to calm himself again. After he heard all of the mistakes he commits, even if Yin Yu didn't go crazy, he might even quit trying to learn how to make pill now.

Fortunately, Yin Yu always remember his father teaching which allows him to preserve or he might give up halfway now.

"How is it calmed down yet?"

"Ye-"

"Good, since you've calmed down now, mom has a question for you."

Without, hearing Yin Yu replies, Yin Ying hurriedly cut to the main point while looking at Yin Yu right now while asking.

"Little Yu, Do you think you're qualified to concoct a pill right now?"

Without hearing Yin Yu replies again, Yin Ying hurriedly put her finger on Yin Yu mouth to say that he didn't need to reply.

"Little Yu, wait for your father for a while."

"Didn't you say that you want to learn about medicine too?"

After saying that, Yin Ying turn around and leave the room leaving the dumbfounded Yin Yu.

"Studying medicine…?"

After Yin Ying leaves the room, She immediately encounters Yin Liang who has been waiting outside the door and start talking to him.

"How is he?"

"He's quite good for a beginner, but still has lots to go.."

"Still, why did you immediately decide to teach him medicine…?"

"Did you still need to ask me that?"

"?"

"I promise him remember, not to learn two things at once."

"Since he already mastered the basic and intermediate poison plants and animals, why do I restrict him learning medicine if he's able to take it."

"But…"

"Trust your son, you're his father, after all, you need to have some confidence."

"You need to remember that all of this is for his future…"

Saying all the things that need to be said, Yin Ying starts to leave, while Yin Liang entered the room.

Seeing his father entered, Yin Yu has got a feeling that something bad may happen again and as expected, his father has given him a book full of animal and plant which can be used as medicine.

Realizing that he needs to go back to memorizing routine again, even Yin Yu start to feel a little headache. Even so, he still starts to memorize all of it while his dad guides him on important medicine which needs to be remembered, basically, it's similar to how his mother teach him just that his father is stricter than his mother.

Three months have passed and Yin Yu finally learn and memorized all of the things he needs to learn. In this three month, Yin Yu has also broken through to 7th tier of body tempering.

Even so, those three months of memorizing and all of his father punishment after failed the test makes him didn't want to remember it.

"I have finally memorized all of it…."

With tears in his eyes, Yin Yu feels happy that he has finally able to finish his studying yet before he has time to relax, his father has called him again to the pills room which he has frequented for the past few months.

"Son, do you know the differences in concocting poison and medicine?"

"Differences…?"

"Look and observe how dad concoct this skin healing powder first, before asking any question"

After Yin Liang says that word, he immediately starts to concoct medicine while Yin Yu is watching from the side.

After seeing his father way to concoct medicine, Yin Yu finally know why his dad says that there's a difference between it.

In both books of poison and medicine, it can be said that there will be some plant and animals which has the medicinal trait and poison trait at the same times.

While refining medicines mean erasing all of the impurities such as poison and another useless element out of the medicine, refining poison also means erasing all impurities that aren't needed in poison such as medicine.

There are also differences in how to increase it's poisonous or medical value, what medicine can be used to complement them, how to combine them with other ingredient and etc.

It can be said that Yin Yu has learned much today by seeing his father concoct the medicine.

Since that day, Yin Yu has learned much from his father and sometimes he also sought his mother to learn and soon without realizing it, the time has passed and Yin Yu is 5 years old now.
